first thing you should do is change the clutch to a good twin-plate like an ORC or OSgiken. then get a pfc + boost controller. you should have around 250-270rwkw, and you should be running consistent flat 12's thanks to your twin plate clutch.

not the biggest fan of the looks, but i have to give respect where its due: there aren't many cars that look like they will kick your nuts up into your throat and make you drool like a caveman out of sheer awe of the power. this is one of those cars. you know what you're in for just by looking at it.
-
try driving a GTR. every second import or v8 wants to have a run.
-
i'm sure you have your reasons for choosing these 3 cars, but correct me if i'm wrong, isn't the rex MUCH more expensive than either of the others? you can get a very nice GTT or S15 for a lot less than the rex, but they will be older. and the characteristics will be completely different. i for one thoroughly enjoyed the S15 that Dr. Envy had. great little car, zippy, chuckable and goes hard too (as well as having a huge amount of aftermarket parts). if you don't mind owning a car that isn't a nissan (you obviously don't) i'd say go for the rex, or better yet go for an evo. they will both be much newer than the GTT or the S15, probably still have the balance of new car warranty also.

Buying An R33 Gtr, What Do I Need To Check
ras1983 replied to GTRNUR's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
same things as an R32 that you have listed. even a R33 is getting old (10+ years depending on the year). best bet is to get one of two kinds: stock well cared for example (of which there are several for sale at the moment - including mine ). recently rebuilt modified example (will save you a LOT of money on mods if the mods have been done by a good workshop). -
A GT-R is NOT a GT (despite what the name suggests). it is a fairly uncompromising, narrowly focused racing car. they are LOUD, HOT (anyone notice the complete lack of air circulation inside the R33's cabin and the amount of sweat it generates on the driver's back?), they consume an unbelievable amount of petrol, have an uncomfortable ride and they have shit stock clutches. if your dad is willing to live with these inconveniances (as i am) then he will love a GT-R. but you already said that he doesn't like the way your GT-R drives, so as a day to day car, i would have to assume that the porsche would be far better than a GT-R. Better still, tell your dad to get an M3, he can always throw on a pair of turbos if it isn't fast enough!

yeah you're right. that 4 cylinder engine does pretty well. infact i remember reading an old issue of HPI which mentioned that HKS was building a drag supra that had a 3S-GTE. not sure if they did... and we all know about the top secret supra. must be a tough little motor that 3S.
-
why isn't this in the spot that rice thread?
-
considering the supra was a stripped out fully prepped race car, and the GT-R was a road car, the fact that the GT-R was even able to keep up was pretty damn good. don't you think?

Fs: Immaculate S2 R33 Gt-r Vspec
ras1983 replied to ras1983's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
here's one pic... need to get the camera to take more pics of interior etc -
***UPDATE*** OK, finally serious about selling my car for financial and practical reasons. its a clean, relatively stock example of a S2 R33 V-Spec, with 11 months rego (May 2008). Has 135xxxKM on the clock. complied in 1998, so these are original km's. Regularly serviced at Protek and run on ultimate 98 exclusively. Mods: K&N Pod filters, Blitz NUR spec turbo back exhaust, KONI suspension, blits turbo timer. all installed by the previous owner. I have also put in a pioneer head unit, 2x12 subs and amp. car has never missed a beat, i love this thing but i just can't justify having it while i'm still at university. i'm looking at $28,750 ONO. im negotiable on price, and may consider trades of a more practical car + cash my way. pm me or ring on 0434 359 586

i'd go for several of the wank factors... :sorcerer: EDIT: after making a stupid comparison b/w the bugatti and a GT-R several weeks ago, i realised what a foolish opinion i had. Just because a car is as fast as an exotic, it doesn't for one second make it attain any of the sentimental and historical value. i love imports, but theres no way anyone would rather have a mine's GT-R over an enzo. the difference in speed on the road would be purely academic, they'd both knock you socks off. But the Fazza would have the reputation. ofcourse i'd take a mclaren f1 over both of them. -
That advetisement depicts illegal driving and should be banned. why can't we get ads like that here? bloody pedestrian lobby!
-
how about a 4wd turbo TX3? what about a peugeot 205 gti? maybe an old beetle, then put a rotary in it and watch it fly!
-
are you specifically after a sporty car? what sort of car are you looking at?
-
for what its worth, R34 interiors are the bee's knees (as jack black would say). great interiors, very well designed and very attractive. R33 interiors are a maxima. very plain.

i just saw your sig, and i say go for the bigger hemi!!!

maintenance costs of a STOCKISH GT-R are nowhere near as bad as people seem to believe. yes, parts cost more than your average car, but things won't go bang if you have a car that is still in a stockish state of tune and if you drive the car with a little restraint. with that being said, if you want something newer, then go the R34. fast, attractive, highly desirable. i; however; chose to go the GT-R route and i don't regret it for a second. a GT-R is a GT-R, the handling(once you learn to treat it like a RWD with lots of traction) is absolutely astonishing. i have taken a couple of mates from uni for a spin, and they all can't believe the cornering ability of the beast. plus its a GT-R, most street cred you can have in an import!!!

Just When You Thought Wrx's Couldn't Get Any Uglier!

its rare that a car gets uglier in two successive generations, first the bug-eye, now this. -
