Is there an update on your situation?

Black Ops is coming out this year. One of the articles on IGN or 1up was suggesting that this might be the reason for delaying GT5, so that it doesn't clash with the release of Black Ops.

Did any of you guys grow up in the 8 and 16 bit generation? I think that Demon's Souls is definitely a throwback to those days. Games are far too easy these days with all sorts of things like regenerative health and all sorts of save states. It's good to see a game that is 'old-school difficult' for a change.

Yep, it's an amazing car. You guys should check out the Autocar review... I don't think it's street legal though. I'd definitely take a Zonda Cinque for the road :-D

Stock R34 GTR's will NOT do 200mph. They might do 300kmh given a long enough stretch of road. They're great cars IMO. Fantastic value for money, good pedigree and street cred, good performance for the time. But they're getting old now, so they maybe aren't the performance bench marks that they used to be. As with all enthusiast/collectible/classic cars, you buy these cars for their history, the driving experience and sentimental reasons. R34 GTR's have these qualities in spades (all GTR's do to be quite honest).

No mate, ATTESSA was upgraded on the R33 and R34 models and the fronts are much more active than on the R32's. Have a look at the Autospeed road test, Julian noted this with the R33 that he used for the road test. I have been in and have driven several R33's and a R34, and they have all displayed this same trait.

Correct. In addition to this, ATTESSA also factors in the speed that you're driving at. You'll notice that cruising at 60 km/h there is some torque going to the front wheels, and you'll notice there's even more when you're cruising at 100 km/h on a freeway.

Stunts was the bomb! You could race cars, it had '3d' graphics and you could create your own tracks!!! I think that only a fwe SAU members would be old enough to remember this game, lol. Here's hoping that GT5 comes out before Duke Nukem Forever does.

Apologies on my end, I misread your post. For some reason I thought it was another one of those "you get what you pay for" posts that were trying to justify sky high prices for cars.

Hey, I'm not saying GTR's aren't awesome, I'm just saying that there are other cars that are just as awesome. That hi-po GTR is still the most violent acceleration I've felt, and the R34 GTR is still the best car that I've had the pleasure of driving.

Yes, my bro in law had a low 11's R33 GTR. It's the fastest car I've ever been in, but it wouldn't be fair to compare it to a RX7, since I've only been in a stock RX7. Stock vs stock, the RX7 was a lot sharper, felt a lot more like a sports car, and the cabin felt like a cockpit. And, it sounded a lot nicer than the GTR and is easily the best looking of all of the imports. It didn't have the outright pace of a GTR, but it was at least as fun, and I thought it was actually a little but more fun. (I may have been exaggerating in my previous post :-D ). My point was just that GTR's aren't the be-all and end all, and this thread is a little weird in that many of the posts make GTR's to be the greatest car on the planet, when there are many other awesome cars.

In my experience, a S8 RX-7 is a much more exciting drive than a GTR. If you want to talk about presence, get someone to take you for a drive in one. Are GTR's good? Yes. Are they the greatest thing since sliced bread? No, there are plenty of other cars that are just as nice (if not nicer) to drive. The most FUN car I've been in was a second generation MX-5. Handled like a go kart, stopped on a dime, and was lots of fun.

I disagree with some of the posts above. Don't think that just because a car has a low price that it is a lemon. The prices can be low for at least two totally different reasons. Either the car is a lemon, or the owner has had it for sale for a long time and has had very few offers. The market for imports has been depressed for the last two years; so prices have come down a lot on nearly all imports. There just aren't enough buyers out there. This means that a lot of the cheaper cars are actually good cars, and have probably been advertised for 6-12 months and have not been sold yet. So, just find out that you think you like and take it to a good workshop (there's a few listed on SAU) and get it checked out. After that get it checked by the RTA. The reality is that most imports would have been in an accident at some point, and most imports (if not all) have done many more km's than the odometer suggests. As long as any repairs have been done properly, you should be fine. Remember that it's a buyers market now (and has been for some time) so if you're smart about it, you can get a very good car for a very good price. As for R33 GTR's, they're good cars IMO. With a few suspension tweaks they can handle VERY well, and the brakes are decent. They're very laggy though, and they're a bit more front heavy than the non-GTR skylines, so you'll have to get used to that. Overall they're an impressive car and are great bang for your bucks.

So are you guys with IINET? They're coming over today to hook up naked ADSL2 at my place. I've heard a lot of good things about them from friends who use their services/products. I've also gone for the BoB renatl ($10 a month) with unlimited VoIP. Is there anywat to find out where the nearest exchange is (and potential performance)? I live in Strathfield NSW.

I'd love to but I guarantee that if I made it you'd get nothing but a blank screen when you put the disk into your PS3 So I think it's best for all of us if Polyphony Digital continue to make it

Although the current generation of consoles is nearly there IMO. The tree right before you fight Hades in God of War 3 looks photorealistic. It could have been taken straight of a son of rajab of the Rings movie. I think the current graphics are good enough, they should start developing new input interfaces, physics engines and AI in my opinion. ie things other than jsut graphics. What do you guys think?

Considering how long this game has been in development, it would want to be damn near perfect! The trailers and previews look sensational though, so maybe it will be worth the wait :-(

Yeah the vintage top gear can be very entertaining. Plus, Tiff is an excellent presenter and I love watching his reviews/comparos.
