Sorry to dig up this old post, but this exact same thing happened to me today! It was a very warm day in sydney and happened 2-3 times on the motorway when i had the radio & AC on. A/T light would flash and sound on radio would cut in and out.. So is this def an alternator problem? If so; Does it need to be replaced or just repaired? cheers

I am actually planning on replacing mine with a "normal" climate control unit when i get around to buying a new headunit. How much are you willing to pay for one? (reasonable offer) Mine is from an S2 btw... not sure if its the same. Yunis
