R33 S2 Parts, Melb Pick Up, Price Drop!
long33 replied to cjlancer's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
i want the hid kit but how much would it cost me if u were sending them to me on the gold coast qld? -
haha i no im bout to make a whole thread of stuff i wana get rid of, i mite be moving soon and dnt wana have to move all my spares aswell. on topic- i like the hyperdome its not too far away for me to drive too, neone agree??
-
ill be ther wen we all decide on a place, sat nite sound good. havent seen neone in ages and i just fixed my car after the damage i dun on the last cruise so shes ready for a wash, polish and play again. where should we go??
-
ok well im off to bed, spent all day repiping the cooler but was worth it, now 2moro another day off work spent on the car.Have to: -cut the fan blades -install this nipple thingy -cut up my spare bumper so i have a nice big hole in it for racing! -make sure all the hoses are on nice and tight so they dont blow off and last but not least check all my vac lines for leaks as i havent really fixed the problem it seems! then clean aac valve prob
-
i have a welder here at home but i dnt think id risk welding it as the pipes are just too thin, after reading up on this topic i know how to resolve the problem now i think, just buy a nipple and tap it into the piping, cool, so i drove the car from my parents to my house with the hose blocked, like a good 20k's. is it safe to drive it more like this or sud i fix it asap?
-
i contimplated doing this but was a bit scared of not doing it right and getting a boost leak, some diy info would be good, ill try searching for the threads but if u no ne please post a link. thanks edit: did a search and i found heaps on it, looks like ill have to do a bit more work on the car tomorrow then!cool thanks for the advice, was fun tho boosting to 10psi lol! faster but scary as hell cos i was waiting for somthing to break lol
-
hmmm sounds like that might be it but where else is could i run it to? where is pressured in the system? also im not sure if its a vaccum tho cos i reved it with my finger over it and there was no suction but i havent tried it with a guage just my finger on it
-
ok well a while ago i was feeling the burn of a boost leak, so i replaced my dodgy exhaust piping on fmic to a proper piping kit however the top aftermarket pipe has no nipple on it like the std one so the hose that used to run off it has nowhere to go so i drove the car with it just hanging off and the car still felt crappy, then i put a screw in it and now my std car on std boost spins up to 10psi(or more i dont have the guts to gun it yet so i back off at 10) but used to run stock 7psi or 5 i think. does ne body know what this hose is? this pic aint my car but thats the hose im talkin bout and i have no way to connect it to that pipe like that.

if cable ties werent invented then duck tape would be the next best thing (isnt it called 100mile-an-hr tape too lol) also if there were no cable ties drifters would be very noticable-no front bars on ne of them.
-
this is y the pipes come off-note the lowness of the pipe, then imagine a bumpy dirt road and ull realise how they came off.
-
hmmm yea well there is a prob, the pipes come loose very easy you see-i dodged up the install, hence y in my sig im asking for a piping kit. the bottom pipe scrapes on my drive everyday and then wen i boost to 7 with no lips on the pipes they pretty much fall off. nehow-its def boost problem, only getting 5psi out on full throttle so i figure its either a dud pipe of blown hose off sumwhere, guna fix it on the weekend so yea i *hope* problem solved, thanks for the insight tho.
-
all my sh*t would blow if i went that high, the car runs on the stock 7psi and stuff was blowing then ive checked and rechecked the pipes and there fine so i dunno whats the prob with the idle
-
well yea wen its warm, in an auto the revs are lifted to warm the engine up and get the oil up and round the engine, what im saying it idles at nomal temp even wen cold then after being reved, idle so low to the point it nearly cuts out
-
ok here the part where i have a cry. was out last weekend with the sau qld crew and wile driving down a bumpy track one of my cooler pipes got ripped off, the car spluttered as usual(ive popped pipes before) and died after a few seconds. we got it all on again and everything was fine until a few days ago i noticed a problem. when i turn the car on (its an auto btw) it used to start up then go to about 1500revs for a bit till oil was circulating fine then drop to just under 1000 where it usually idled, but now it starts up (now needs a foot on the throttle or it just dies) then wen i take my foot off the throttle it goes straight down to 800revs and stays put -therefore car not warming properly. also wen i put my foot down to drop a gear as its auto it drops down fine but if i lift off the gas completly the revs drop to idle revs, not to the gear aboves rev range. i have been told may be boost/vac prob or afm or aac valve prob, how can i check these? i have a vac+boost guage in the car and they read as normal so would there be another problem? ps the cooler piping coming off mite not have been the culprit, i also did some quite harsh mountain driving that day, nothing i havent done b4 tho. any ideas? help is much appreciated. dazza

it gets funnier, i didnt no any of this wen i bought the car(it was only $800). i installed my stereo in it the day i got it rite and thot it was really odd cos even wen i turned the car off the stereo would still let me turn it on and off, then after a few days i had to roll start the car, then again the next day, for about a week, so i went to strathfield and told them i couldnt get the wiring rite and left the car with them, wen i got back they politly informed me that my wiring was perfect(but the still rewired it and charged me) and the problem was that i wasnt turning the car off, but the keys still came out, hence the clock being left on and my batt running flat every nite. it was the first car id owned where u had to push the key in further and an xtra turn to turn the car completely off lol
-
*not in my skyline* but in my old cars i had LOADS of dodgey things going on, worst/best of all tho was the 2x4 in my rear passenger side door of my old lancer that held the window up, only held it to as far as u could put ur arm in, to hold it up the rest of the way i used gaffa tape and stuck it to the roof(on the inside of course). also the ignition in the car was broken so i had a turbo timer!! (well, u could start the car and take the key out with it still on so i could leave the car on, lock the door, run into the shop etc etc looking like i had a turbo timer lol)

i noticed all you guys are talking about a cooler with piping that enters and returns thru the same side so no holes have to be cut in the chassis.i wanted to do the same thing on my 33 so i went and got some pipe bent up at an xhaust shop and fitted it in 4hrs. only did it cos i was in a hurry to get it on, have now changed my mind and wana get it repiped properly cos the lowness of the bottom pipe is pissing me off hardcore.
