Can You Replace Stock Gtr Bov With Single Atmospheric
TTT replied to Daz's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
there are people who have atmo venting bovs on AFM equipt GTR's with no problems. but there is always some tuning to help it. I'm not sure of the exact parameter that needs to be adjusted but it would have something to do with overrun fueling or throttle closed fueling or something that describes what the ecu does when throttle is shut. basically, you want to remove fuel at that point so that when the atmo bov vents the air out of the system, then the ecu doesn't inject the fuel it was going to, that would have mixed with the air that was vented. -
Hope you get a replacement calculator back soon Moaner.

hey guys. I had just heading back to my car at the sydney casino after losing all of my money when I saw some guys who had obviously been having some trouble with their Silver skyline. I asked them if they were alright and they said yes but it was obvious they weren't. being a fellow skyliner, I decided it was my dutie to help. and so I did. I walked over to the 2 of them and said "you guys locked your keys in hey? they looked at each other and went "yeah.. man.. that's right.. how did you know"? I said "it's ok.. we'all done it. There is a trick to your car boys.. all you gotta do is reach in the drivers side window and flick that little switch and the passenger side door opens." so I did it for them. then I asked where they were off too next, and they said that they gotta get new tyres for their rims.. nice Works Emotion rims too. but they didn't want to lose their parking spot so they were gonna use the other mates car to go get the new tyres put on the rims and put it back on there. so I helped them Jack up the car too. the fella had forgotten where he put the lock nut so I found it in the glove box for him under some calculator or something that had a cable attached to it that went down to the passenger side foot well. I said to him, Mate "you might want to check that out, seems like the calculators power plug is caught at the back there. so while I removed one of the wheels, he removed the calculator and the thing it was pluged in to (I think it was the charger... not sure). I then left them to do the other wheel as I had to go. to say thanks, they gave me some CD's (which were some lame ass CD's.. can't even remember what they were, but at least they were thankful). I suggested that the guys get an alarm and immobiliser so that they have remote locking and won't leave the keys in the car and to protect their ride. you never know these days. As I was leaving, I told my mate at security to let these fellas through for free and he said no worries. Hope they didn't forget their keys in there when they came back to put the wheels on. all in all, even though I lost money at the casino, I feel better as I helped out a fellow skyliner. just wanted to share.

Help Needed With Diagnosing A Problem
TTT replied to skyline25t's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
sounds like a bucket of shit. lol.. so all this started happening after the new engine went in? go back to where you got the engine put in. if you put it in yourself, it is now time to go to a place that knows skylines. some things are better left to the experts. -
who cares if it blows anyway.. it's $350 to get a second hand RB25 turbo. even less for an RB20 turbo

Why not add 4) best performance and bang for buck to your list. oh.. Then I guess all the pods will be left on the shelf in favor of the stock air box with stock or aftermarket panel filter. But if you want to be a hektik "skyliner who puts a pod on der kar for hektik sound and best flow", then by all means.. get any of those pods. cause lets admit it... it's hektik. R34NRG - what you failed to say about the stock induction pipe sucking closed at 1bar boost was that it was on your near 300kw 3L large turbo engine. there are plenty of people in the 250rwkw+ territory using stock airbox and stock rubber intake pipe. HOWEVER - they don't make hektik intake sounds bro. and they can't point in the engine bay and go "sik pod"!!

what's to be lost about. your old thread says that you spent $5K and are now running 15.7 on the quarter at best. it also keeps asking if we think the video sounds good. you hadn't mentioned that you sold all the other bits off and made your money back. what I was saying was that the $5K you initially spent to buy the other VL, transfer the 2 motors over etc etc only to run a 15.7, you could have gone MUCH MUCH faster for that $5K by rebuilding an RB30e and adding a turbo or doing a budget RB30/25.

I hope your wallet is empty due to the insurance you just got for it.. nice car. wait.. for sale aleady?

Very Disappointing Dyno Results, Help!
TTT replied to Wacky Dee's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Mate - go to the NSW section of these forums. see the thread started by sidr20 - "TOSHI REMAP" in that thread is a link to TOSHI's own little section of the forum/website. have a chat with him. just so you understand. 1. SAFC = Super Air Fuel Controller (or computer or something) - it is simply a signal bender. It sits beween the AFM and the ECU. the AFM sends a signal to the ECU saying there is x amount of air going past my shaft and the ECU adjust the amount of fuel to suit it's programming. with the SAFC there, the AFM goes, "hey.. there is x amount of air going past my shaft" the SAFC goes "no worries habbib.. I'll let the komputa know bro.. I swear to allah bro.." The SAFC then turns to the ecu and goes "bro.. da afm called and sed dat der is only z amount of air coming in and dat your a fat kunt" the ecu then gets angry and goes on a diet and reduces the amount of fuel so the mixture is all leaner. and you get more power. however, since it only lies about the amount of air, the ecu makes the changes to fuel it needs to get the mixture it is supposed to as programmed. it doesn't make any changes to timing so you "could" have issues with detonation/pinging. the expensive PFC or other stand alone ecu's are not signal benders. they have total control over everything and don't need other devices to lie about stuff. AN ECU remap/reflash/rechip or whatever you want to call it is a way to re-program the standard ecu. the standard ecu's program from factory obviously says. if air = x then add y amount of fuel. and all is well then we get our hands on these cars and want to hear that sweat rb sound - large exhaust goes on. we want hektik spool sound - pod filter goes on. we want to go faster - boost controller and more boost goes on. on the factory mapping, it is obviously designed to go mega rich with the extra air that you get from boost etc. TOSHI and others reprogram this ecu. they tell it to give this much timing and this much fuel when it receives this much air. and you get a faster car, more power, less fuel used and still safe. TOSHI's remap/chip prices are very good. have a read of that thread and contact him yourself. forget the SAFC. it is a dirty dirty liar. -
Mate - about 90% of the 6 million skylines for sale at any one time are in that price range. you haven't even stated where you are from. or if you want a turbo.

TTT replied to Daz's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
if your car still uses AFM, then they have to be plumbed back in. the factory ones do not stay shut at idle. so essentially, you have an air leak. un-metered air entering your engine. a:f mixture is screwed and you get idle/stalling issues etc. -
I said.. You said. I believe I didn't mix you up with anyone else.. I did however give you a 1 second better time on your 1/4 Your thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rb...ms-t199566.html Your post in that thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=3557915

Help Needed With Diagnosing A Problem
TTT replied to skyline25t's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
the stock turbo at 10 psi on an RB25 makes it hit r&r. a highflow turbo with the same boost will be even worse. The sparkies might help but in reality, some sort of tuning is required. -

good idea to test without cat. also might be worth getting it on a dyno to see the mixtures. could be running rich. any extra boost over stock?
