  2. what revs does it make the 170rwkw at? also, can you test a mates AFM to see if it does the same thing? Is the AFM clean?

  4. short answer = SOME. long answer requires you to give more details. how much boost? an R32 GTR with turbo back exhaust, 1 bar boost and tuned with a POWER FC (including timing which SAFC can't do) nets about 250rwkw. so your's will be less than that. not only that, but you will have worse low, mid and top end due to not being able to adjust timing.
  5. you joined up, then 5 minutes later created this thread. so when exactly did you search for the words R33+4500rpm+flat+spot. as above, the factory ecu causes it. seems even worse when boost is increased.
  6. mate if it's not leaking any oil and or coolant, then you will pass a road worthy. road worthy certificate is more about making sure the car is pretty much that.. Road worthy. how much tread is on the tyres, (including spare). any oil leaks? any fluid leaks? brake test. they measure the brake discs to make sure they have at least the bare minimum thickness. pads have enough meat. indicators work. parkers headlights. high beams. brake lights. windscreen wipers and their rubber without streaks. Battery load testing. that's pretty much it. You could have a high mounted T88 and they wouldn't give a crap. The mechanics that do the road worthy that is. cops are a different story.

  8. don't turn this in to one of "those" threads. people have their dyno printouts and are happy with it so leave it be. for the record, my first r32 rb20 with rb25 turbo made 153rwkw on 10 psi and no change to ecu. and if I recall, the a:f was about 11.9:1 I don't remember the dyno settings as it was back about 5-6 years ago now.

  11. those Autometer A:F gauges are about as useful as tits on a bull. if you are going to tune it yourself, you will need a wideband O2 sensor. and believe me, if you are doing the stuff you have been to save money, you won't be buying a wide band O2 sensor.
  12. he has an RB20 with RB25 turbo atmobovboy... they are already to be remapped. I have no doubt about RB25's making 190rwkw with SAFC and 10psi + usual mods. RB20 though.. nah!

  15. you said it runs even richer now.. so how are you not ripped off? same power, on more boost. worse economy worse cold starts. worse tune with more shit on your rear bar. tell me how you didn't get ripped off and waste $3K. you would have gotter better tune with an SAFC on top of your piggyback thingy you had, by just cleaning up the RICHNESS you are complaining about.

  17. well, since you've done so much work yourself already it might eb a stupid quesiton to ask, but have you cleaned the AFM? or have you re-soldered the AFM joints inside the actual AFM? search for AFM+SOLDER to see what I mean. Also, iridium plugs don't mean that you don't have a spark issue. how old are they? what gap? what heat range? and since you have been "tuning" and telling me just above that it has been so rich it BURNS your rear bar etc, those plugs will be well f**ked by now. Fixxer is correct. $24 for 6 new NGK BCPR6ES – 8 plugs already gapped to 0.8mm may fix your problem... well.. one of them. lol.. mate it's your car and your choice... but from all your money saving, it looks like it's going to cost you in the end.
  18. actually.. you live 1 suburb away from me. why not check out the QLD section of these forums for events. they might have a dyno day comming up. or even the NS.com qld section for events for the next dyno day.

I was trying to be helpful mate (for once). you have your rb20 with stock turbo and exhaust etc. the stock ECU goes about it's business managing it. you change a turbo, put in 60% more boost than what the stock setup on the stock turbo is, so probably over 100% more volume in ingested air. then you are "blindly" making changes to parameters via a signal bending device. you don't see this as a problem? I'm sorry you don't have the money for a dyno run. SAU clubs in each state always seem to hold dyno days. and you can have 3 runs for about $50 on those sort of days. perhaps you could save up for that. get one run, look at the graph showing A:F mixture and make adjustments via your SAFC. I don't want to be judgemental but it seems you have no idea what you are doing (from a tuning point of view). It's great that you have done so much work by yourself, but it is all going to turn in to a smoldering lump of piston residue if you keep doing what you are doing.

I don't get it. even a "street tune" would involve a wide band O2 sensor, a datalogger and your tuning tool (safc) you'd do a run, check the datalogger to see what a:f mixture is like at what revs, then adjust your singal bender at each rev point to suit. Are you just going for a thrash, then making a change on the SAFC going by the seat of the pants feel? that's insane.!! How can you say you are doing a tune of any sort and not know what the a:f mixtures are like?

  23. Good price for a rebuilt R33. who rebuilt it? and what brand parts were used for pistons, rods, bolts/studs, bearings etc? any receipts and details of the rebuild? Was the new stock turbo direct from Nissan? what did they charge for that?

I find it funny that you all think he is going to do "hard time" for 3 years. too much TV for some of you I think. he will not be doing anything hard time. he will not be anyone bitch. he will get 3 solid meals a day, have access to TV etc. have a gym. have a yard. and all for free. well free for him. we'll cover the bill. and if he doesn't get in to a fight or cause trouble in there, he will be out in 1 year. and set himself up again with the same people/jobs. Hard time. what a joke. he is a thief, not a murderer/rapist. he will be in pretty much a secure bording home
