  1. So... Apart from your little dig at me, the rest was true. 1.) you gained nothing from and FMIC (and actually lost 4kw which is "apparently" due to the weather) 2.) you wasted an hour of your time 3.) You were told to bring it back when the tuner was there so he could try to put some timing in to it and give you more power (maybe your 4kw back) and take your $250 then. 4.) You haven't posted dyno graphs of the SMIC run and the current run for comparison. They told you you lost 4kw due to weather. fair enough. if you had 190 and yesterday got 186... that is a max power figure. how about midrange? that is why I was asking for the 2 graphs (now and back with the SMIC) And I know you won't feel the throttle response change. You would only notice it if you went "BACK" to the smic (which you won't bother doing now)
  2. what the clusterf**k?
  3. ^^ Dude.. there is no room for common sense in this thread so please edit your post.
  4. do a search man.. aparently it is WELL documented that the stock ones are shit and that a good AEM (which is a UNIVERSALLY USED Acronym of rAftermarket Equipment Manufacturer - don't you know anything) bovs are the way to go.. and I can give you your 3 minutes back if you like. I can travel back in time and take you with me if you like.. I saw a little asian guy do it by shutting his eyes and trying really hard to fart.. then pop.. he disapears and re-apears in the another time.. you want in?
  5. Hows OSAKA going? I noticed it had stock bovs.. ZOMG.. not stock ones..... !!!!!
  6. y... nooo
  7. how ya goin? look up the top of this forum there is a sticky thread with alot of peoples feedback regarding oils they use and what they think etc. I'm sure there are some GTR owners in there.
  8. on most nissans, the gaskets around the hot side become and issue. Check these gaskets between: engine and manifold. manifold and turbo turbo and dump pipe. ALSO, you may find that you are missing some nuts or that they are loose. check the nuts that hold all of the above together. that subi upper engine cleaner stuff is good shit on the EJ motors.. probably have same effect on any motor. farken stinks when coming out the exhaust though..
  9. regards the running rough and bad idle. check the usual suspects. Spark plugs (buy a set of NGK copper plugs with heat range of 6 and a gap of 0.8mm) - $4 each Check and clean your AFM's (may possibly need re-soldering - search this forum for AFM+SOLDER to find details) AAC valve - clean it - instructions are available in the DIY section. all of the above will simply take time and very little dollars compared to what you've already spent on re-tuning and so forth.
  10. Copper is a better conductor of electricty then Platinum or iridium. Have you considered using the $4 copper ones for better performance?
  11. I didn't say it was a bad thing. I'm just amazed. yes.. everyones car is STUNNING and is the cleanest I've ever seen. well done on the sale..
  12. PlazmaMAN!!! I guess you've already read about how good the stock rb20 manifold is and how a front facing one will lose a little low and midrange and so forth yeh?
  13. Exactly my good man.. however, you would be used to getting your knees grazed and skirt stained so go right ahead..
  14. unless you were going to an address outside the city
  15. ok.. I'll get you started. bov has a piston in it. this piston stays closed, then opens to let the air in the intake out. it also has a small vacuum line entry point. bov is placed on the Turbo side of the throttle body. the vacuum line to the bov gets it's reading from the PLENUM side of the throttle body. now you take over and explain how it all works. No googling now.
  16. since you are going to get it redone. Can you please get a "as it is right now" dyno sheet showing power x rpm and boost and one when he is finished with same stats. Just so people can see the difference between FMIC and no changes to FMIC and retune. then they can also decide if it's worth it or not. like you said, top end may not change, but the midrange might. Also, if you have a dyno sheet with the way the car was with same mods but with the R34 SMIC it would be a good comparison too.
  17. Nice theory. and it's good to see that you're brain is at least trying to work. do me a favour. ask the brain of yours this question, and then type up the dribble that it gives you. ready? "How does a blow off valve work?" lets hear it?
  18. sigh.. hmmm are you farking stoned?
  19. I'm surprised your reply wasn't in brown as it's obviously pulled right out your arse. Well documented? You're clutching at straws fella.
  20. easiest way. run R33 GTR on the dyno. get result. remove engine put engine in R33 GTST run it on the dyno. easy. ...as long as I'm not paying for it or doing the work.
  21. sorry Capitan Acronym. Please forgive me. while you're here.. Why not explain your theory of
  22. no they make the world go zzzzztutututututututututututuulehtututututubrotututututu
  23. bovs make the world go round bro.
  24. that is not a leak.. it is RECIRCULATING. it helps keep the on off throttle changes smooth.
