  1. you sold an R33 GTST for $18K that's farking amazing..
  2. why would he have a rich tune? it is already tuned. why would a FMIC make it run rich? IF anything, if the FMIC cools the air alot, it will run leaner. therefore saving him fuel going by your thoughts.
  3. This is twice I've seen you post this bad advice. what is AEM?
  4. Drifting is for ghey people.. are you ghey?
  5. what an odd first post on a car specific forum.
  6. No worries Nova...
  7. I bet that now that you have the FMIC on, then go back to the SMIC, you would immediately notice the difference of throttle response. I didn't say lag. throttle response. example. driving in second gear at 2500rpm. plant your foot. doing this exact same thing with the FMIC and the SMIC will show you the difference. especially going from the FMIC to SMIC Not that you will go back now.. but I assure you you would feel the difference. my point was that if you have the stock turbo, a FMIC is a waste when you can use the R34 SMIC. it will flow and cool anything the stock turbo can throw at it. sure a FMIC is good to have for future mods if you plan a turbo upgrade.. But I would have got the FMIC at the same time as turbo. on a silvia or any other engine with a forward facing plenum and factory SMIC I would say that a FMIC is definitely worth it. anyway.. if you want to spend the $250 it's up to you..
  8. LMAO. what did you expect the tuner to say when you asked if it really needed another tune? You have a stock turbo? then the R34 SMIC would be more than efficient. even with the stock turbo at it's moaximum safest level, let say you made 215rwkw.. The R34 SMIC is still efficient at that level. so.. your tuner told you to go get a FMIC, so you did. also said that it will need another tune at $250... you know what you are going to get for $250? Nothing. no no.. not true. for $250, you are going to get less throttle response.. cool...
  9. stupid eyes... still. no need for a retune... if you got money to burn then go right ahead though.
  10. Promote this man!!
  11. Tangles - R32 GTS4 = flick of switch or removal of fuse to turn attessa off. none of this gay R33/stagebarge removal of front shafts
  12. I disagree with that nizmoid. he is going from an R33 smic to an R34 smic. The difference will be minimal and the cost of a retune of easily over $100 would be better spent later on something else. Monkeyboy - I assume you actually have an aftermarket ECU that is being tuned. not that you are making a mod and going to a dyno place where they put it on the dyno and do a power run and point at the screen and say.. see.. more power. all the while you have a stock ecu.
  13. get one of those valves for the exhaust where you can turn it from inside the car to cut sound (and obviously flow/power) then open it right up for full sound and power.
  14. It's dodgey mate. you take your stock bov off. and put it in a VISE. then crush it a little. this preloads the spring that is in it which makes it hold more pressure as it takes more pressure to push the spring. it doesn't actually make any more sound though. Yes that is correct. we give no shit for bov sound. put the stocker on there and stop talking about it.
  15. remove headlight. problem solved.
  16. Roy is a shit driver in a straight line
  17. you may be able to put a hole on the SIDE of the bottom half of the air box. then make another hole down there next to the intercooler pipes. then route a CAI in from there.. If you still have your SMIC, then it wouldn't be a good idea to have a pipe blocking some of it to get air to the filter. a hole in the box as described above, with a pipe going from there to say 3 cm out of the bottom of the hole you put int he chassis would still be beneficial as it would still "SUCK" cold air from there.. it just wouldn't have the ram air effect that a CAI facing forward on the front bar would have. My liberty setup is different but I'll take a few pics over the weekend to show you what a small but effective CAI would look like.
  18. it may be that the last plugs for fouled so you were missing. now you have new plugs, but they "may" have too large a gap so you are getting a miss due to spark being blown out.. soo same type of symptoms stemming from slightly different spark related issues.
  19. My suggestion. Join up to Calaisturbo.com (if you already are a member, re-join as a new member with totally new name) do an intro about your fake self. how you have a regular VL and want to convert it to a calais, exterior and interior. then post a wanted thread. tell them you have $5K to spend on full calais conversion, interior and exterior. maybe a decent stereo too. Don't be specific like your list above. Just a general post. fishing is good. you "may" catch something.
  20. bovs don't make flutter sounds.. so NO bov makes similar sound. what works best? one that can dump the air it neesd to without flutter sound. the stock one CAN do this, but it needs larger diameter return pipe. ATMO venting ones are of no use on an AFM equiped car.
  21. Go to bunnings, get a large diameter PVC pipe and some bends. go home with new bits. if you have a FMIC, the area under the air box will have one hole free. ENLARGE this hole to be the same size as your PVC pipes. fit the air box back in. from underneath, use something like a liquid paper pen and draw pretty much trace the hole from the body of the car to the air box. remove air box. cut out hole. Insert PVC pipe in and silicon it in place. blah blah blah.. essentially, you want the PVC pipe going from the front bar, to the air box. mount it on however you see fit. it doesn't even need to have a ram effect. just a feed of cold air.
  22. Nope.. stock R32 GTST the inlet is in the bottom half of the box, at the front corner. gets it's feed from behind the passenger side headlight
  23. If you blocked off the pipes to the bov, it will flutter. stock S14 bov setup with more than stock boost will flutter. the bov return line is too small (as it goes over the front of the engine block) so it can't dump as much air as it needs and it flutters. to make it louder, get yourself a pod filter. (I don't condone any of these, just answering your question)
  24. Nissan make a good filter.. try one of those..
