copper spark plugs cost $4 each. get 6. gap to 0.8mm since you have set the boost to almost stock, and you still have stock exhaust which will restrict boost anyway, you don't need a colder heat range. 6 x 5 heat range spark plugs will cost you $24... lets say $30 at the most. and you can gap them without breaking the unobtainium tip. see if you can get the correct spark plugs in the "V GROVE TIP".. can't remember the part number. once you've changed them over, and putting everything back together, leave the spark plug cover off.. the thing that says 2500 twin cam turbo. go for a drive at night.. do whatever it is that you normally do to cause the missfire under load and at idle.. if you manage to get it to miss at idle, pull over and pop the bonnet. see if you can see any sparks near the coils. at night, with the cover off, if there is a miss due to the coils, you will see blue light show as it arcs on to the engine block. if this is happening, I'd get a refund on the splitfires or at least a replcement set.

get copper plugs. and go back to heat range 5. 0.8mm. paulr33 - he already has splitfire coils.

yeh... read the "WHOLE" thread instead of the first persons first post. what you are suggesting has been done by over a dozen people in that thread above. don't be lazy. or at least go in to that thread a search within the thread. see just down the bottom left here.. it says "Enter Keywords" and then the "search Topic" button.. do that in the 280page thread about the RB30/25/26 hybrids.

We did a few things round the house and have replaced our OVEN, STOVE, and RANGE HOOD. all stainless steel, all Simpson branded, all ELECTRIC, All working perfectly fine. All the standard 600mm wide. If no-one wants it, I will be taking it to the tip next weekend. Brisbane northern suburbs. if anyone is interested, ask here or pm me for contact details. PIC: http://northlakes.com.au/portals/0/classif...0909_092910.JPG EDIT: These items new will cost you: stove - $699 oven - $799 range hood - $150 I can't be bothered going through ebay to sell them so I'm going to tip them if no-one wants them.

well at least you have a mechanic mate that will help you out. just a thought.. "cramming as much air as you can down it's throat" and "never rebuild" don't go hand in hand with 15+ year old RB26's. you leave it as is, it will last. you do the single turbo and many many boosts, you will rebuild. there are many people here with ALOT of rb26 experience. if you post your questions in the appropriate sections (forced induction) you will get answers from the likes of GTRGeoff, R31Nismoid, Cubes, SydneyKid (if he actually gets on here anymore).. then you'll find I'll come around and blabber something about RB30 and possibly call you gay, then leave.. all the best with the new car. But please, don't fool yourself into thinking that you won't need a rebuild this 15+ year old engine that "WILL" have been thrashed frequently, especially since your plans are a largish single, and lots of boost. even for a stock refresh, you'd be up for about $6K

get it tuned at the highest safe boost level. don't change it after that.
-
It was a compliment... really. I'm gunna change my name to Hitachi.. or perhaps "Ian Henry Indy" or IHI for short.. or maybe just go all out and change to "MAX POWERS" you can be hootie Mcboob if you like.. or busty Laroo

they are electronic.. they keep fine. I think I've only heard of one PFC frying a board and that was due to "someone" playing with things.. *cough* CUBES *cough* second hand would be fine. I'd personally be looking at the remap of the factory ecu. I wonder what tuning range they have.. is it 16x16 like the PFC? anyone? Sam?

in this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=185614 you said you said you had a SM4 plug and play with MAP sensor.. different cars I guess.

autronic is a $2K plus stand alone engine management system.

I just don't get this logic. having 2 maps seems like a "keeping up with the jones' " crap. Why does the tune need to be different or the boost setting be different when you are on the track or going to westfields? get it tuned to the best, safest limit, then leave it. if you are going to the shops, make a quick adjustment to signal that goes from brain to right foot and your set. if you have it tuned with stock turbo and have 200rwkw on 12psi of boost... that is perfect. so if you are tooting around the streets or shops, just don't fang the f*k out of it as if you were coming on to the straight of a race track. If Sam has got the R33 remaps just as good as his R32 ones, and he is not charging anything except tuning time for future updates (I believe the first r33 rechips used to be write once, test, throw away, write another, test etc..), then it is definitely a good comparison to the after market stuff. Just a question for Sam I guess. is the factory ecu programable to use Z32 or Q45 AFM? I'd say they would be but a confirmation is good. and do you have any information on line somewhere about r33 ecu remaps? didn't think they had the "board" to add chips to. cheers.

Let me rephrase that.. I want in if it ever gets to BRISBANE.

It's not the noobs. it's people that have already been here and have read it all. it's not the noobs that say "I have a stock skyline, can I get a tune" that's a fair noob question. but comparing dyno figures... and lets admit it, there is a whole shit load of it that goes on here. BAN. No warning. they go to refresh, BANG.. "you have been banned for life you f*king clown." message appears. Seat of the Pantaloons dyno figure is just as acurate as a dyno power figure. it doesn't mean anything anyway. -
your actual name is Garrett? how cool is that.. your middle name isn't like GT35r or something is it?
-
*sniff sniff*.. I smell rb26 failure and expensive rebuild comming up.. you obviously know sr20's and silvia's,... you might want to do a bit of research on oil control on these things. all the best. car looks great.

Please Ban the next person that asks questions about the power they got from a dyno run/tune. the arguements about how much power it made stock or, this dyno is happy and this one is sad is getting as bad as the f*king missfire at 4500rpm on boosted R33 uleh, or flutters bro type threads. DYNO results have the following important information. Boost v RPM graph - to see what RPM the boost gets to max set boost level and if it stays stable etc. A:F ratio v RPM graph - to see if it's lean or rich and at what rev range. torque v RPM graph - to see what revs the max torque is produced to work out what revs to change at to drop back in to the meaty part of the torque curve. how many times have people said "a dyno is a tuning tool" never sinks in. the forum is flooded by morons going "I only got 180rwkw with 12psi and others got 200rwkw on same psi" BAN BAN BAN!!! -
I am sickened that no-one has bagged him out yet.. FOR SHAME!!! How dare you people try to help/talk sense in to, someone who wants to use an RB26 with highmounts for LOOKS ULEH!!!!!

do yourself a favour and do these first. new spark plugs gapped to 0.8mm new oil new oil filter. if you have stock coils, tape them up good with electrical tape. the cost always ends up higher than what is quoted because you increase boost and power and you find the spark gives up and you hit missfire issues. so unless you have split fire coils already, and don't want to spend $500+ on them or get the shits when you book in for a tune and they can't do it cause of spark issues, do the above first. then they will only charge you for the install/tune.

100kg? is it cause you is a fat c**t or a tall c**t? time to hit the pavement...

there are WRX forums. 2001 model rex (bug eye model) also has PRE CAT. as in there is another Cat converter in the manifold from one sode of the engine to the other before it gets to the turbo. $4000 for a TD04 is funny. people have trouble selling them second hand for $200 I'd tell her to take it to a subaru specialist not a subaru dealer. one drive in it and they would be able to tell what the problem is.
