  1. there is a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG thread on here about an internally stock RB25 and how much power it made.. started off rocky but turned out to be a good thread. I can't remember the user id of the guy who started it though. someone else will remember and reply here soon. but yes.. your thread is very much a "how long is a piece of string" type thread.there is noway of knowing. there is always a general consensus though. and as said, between 250-270rwkw on a good tune with fueling and oiling well looked after, it should be good for a while.. if you are looking to spend $8K-$10K on a rebuild, why not rebuild an RB26 or 26/30? same price, much more torque and power.
  2. Address please.
  3. no. $35 bleed valve will also increase the boost. but this is uselss if no tuning
  4. bo you see nothing on the boost side of the gauge even on full throttle. are the wastegate actuators connected to the wastegate flap? if not, they will flap open easily under boost like a loose vagina in the wind. then the exhaust gases will pass through the path of least resistance which will be the wastegate. Not sure what else would cause NO positive pressure to be made.
  5. an aftermarket plumback bov will be more quiet than the stocker. aftermarket atmo bov will be louder and worse. don't ask why or I'll slap ya.
  6. open up your air filter box. once you remove the air filter, you will find there is some foam insert in the box somewhere. this muffles it all down. remove that. put the air filter back on and go test it out. if you want even more noise, you will need to get a free flowing panel filter like K&N or trust etc. or you could get a pod filter instead of the air box but that is illegal is most states and it's a backward step in performance.. (even though you will think it is going faster due to all the extra noise)
  7. Yes I have a car. yes it has a stock bov. yes it works like it's supposed to. You dick head. this whole thread is about a guy asking about a HKS SSQV for his car. Mafia pointing out all the points why he shouldn't have an atmo bov in his own way and your reply was all fluffy. oh it's a personal choiec, oh it's usefull. here is your dumarsed reply from the other thread. so explain yourself. explain this "performance" atmo bovs give over a plumback
  8. so basically you have no actual facts about why they are good? you just have lame insults to people who tell you how it is? answer the question little boy.. why do you think that atmo bovs are usefull for a street car that already had a plumback bov and AFM setup? Stop talking shit about "peoples taste" and crap. answer the f*king question.
  9. I wonder how many people actually think they will pick up chix. even if there is one.. thats enough to make me f*king laugh..
  10. that bonnet reminds me of starwars.. and that turbo looks huge compared to stock. hope it's not too laggy for you. not much room in the garage hey?
  11. wow.. another thread where knobhead comes in blabbing his mouth about how atmo bovs are good and have a place in society. f*k off Andru.. go make a fool of yourself on another forum. how many have you been laughed out of now?
  12. ok.. please tell me what wikipedia told you then. tell me how an atmo venting bov is a worthwhile mod to a road going car which has a factory plumback bov. lets hear your points.
  13. What is the use on giving YOU constructive criticism? we've all worked out that was of no use long time ago. YES. THAT IS WHAT WE ARE TELLING YOU.. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS THAT ARE COMING OUT OF MY MOUTH (keyboard)? do you want us to tell you slower?
  14. if this happened after you did the exhaust change, then I'd say that maybe you haven't tightened the bolts on the back of the turbo enough, thye have got a little lose and now blown through the exhaust gasket causing a loud scream when boost gets up there..
  15. I think he means all the custom work that is required to make it mate up with the RB20 arse end. Just going on this question though.. how about rb25 head on an RB26 block?
  16. You've got 2 boost controllers mixed up there.. the $22 dollar one is now $35 these days. it is a manual bleed valve it is made by "turbo Tech" it will do the job.. but I don't know.. I see it more of a gtst mod.. not a GTR mod.. you have a fancy bit of gear there.. might as well buy something more advance for it. The Jay Car boost controller is an electronic boost controller. it is a "DIY" kit that you have to solder together yourself. it is also a little tricky to tune as it does not bleed of boost, it uses injector duty cycle to work out how much boost to run etc.. it's a little confusing to me. I have one at home already build but haven't put it on for that reason. these kits are about $80 from jaycar. to "tune" it, you will also need the Hand controller (which is another $70)
  17. I would.. * get stock gtr bovs back on (there are 2) * buy an accurate boost gauge (not made by speco or autogage) * buy an Electronic Boost Controller (some even have a digital boost gauge on them) which you can adjust your boost from stock to what ever you choose. that should set you back $150 - stock bovs $150 - boost gauge $300 - EBC -$200 - Sell the current bov you are out of pocket $400 and you know it's working right.
  18. from what I've read, there is noting wrong with your motor except radiator and power steering pump? so are you buying a rolling shell to put your stock motor in to? Why not buy a new R32 gtst and strip your old smashed one for parts like motor, interior etc.. People are always looking for R32 bits as they're all falling apart. sell off everything from the old car and just use that money to modify the new car with 12psi, cooler and intake.
  19. it's definitely cheaper than buying 35 rb30 blocks.
  20. explain what you are experiencing when you say boost leak.
  21. I like Grants humor. lets all type in ITALICS like the cool people do on performance forums when we are being Sarcazmic. Get over it. Take some of your own advice and shut that penis holder on your face.
  22. 1jz ma70 supra. http://forums.performanceforums.com/forums....php?t=67211694 the way I see it, there are 2 problems with the old supras. 1. - Electric seats weigh like a biggest loser contestant on their first day. 2. - 7mgte has a bad rep for headgasket blowing. this car has resolved both these. recaro reclining seats. 1jz conversion. asking price is like $10K. it will tear most skylines on the road a new bunghole.
  23. Don't worry about it.. I've been here from almost the begining back when most people knew each other and could hand out good old fashion verbal beatings on stupidity. now it seems that the newer younger members are all EMO and on the edge of cutting their wrists as it is and god forbid you say something at theur stupidity or they'll cry. Like Blitz for example.. I can call him a homo anal punching, 4wd requiring knob jockey.. and he won't cry or complain that I'm being harsh on him for owning a stagea barge... he knows it's the truth and expects to get that kind of truth from his SAU mates. Ain't that right Blitz?
  24. short answer - Yes Long answer - Shit Yes
  25. R34 GTT side mounted intercooler = $150 from these forums. exhaust shop with aluminium welder to modify the inlet outlet to match stock RB20 one = $50 then direct bolt on replacement and capable of cooling and flowing for over 220rwkw. Edit - the R34 cooler is thicker and taller than the stock unit and flows better also.
