  1. My point was that a stock paper filter element from nissan like the one your car would have got from the factory will not be a restrcition in anyway for your current power output. it will clean better than all the aftermarket ones too. by buying a trust/apexi/k&n etc.. you will not make any more power over the factory paper one which will cost you piss all.
  2. it's a good base for an engine transplant.. that's it.. that is why people are not interested. The fact is, if you spent $10K on a good rb26dett transplant, it would fetch over $20K. but as it stands, it is a 1500kg+ series 1 4 door skyline which would be bullied by a swift gti. It's a rare car... It's a shame no-one sees the potential Good luck.
  3. if god knows.. he aint gonna tell you in a dream or nothing. try the fixes mentioned. what spark plugs did you put in?
  4. before you start.. consider this.. your car is 4wd. therefore you need a sump adaptor. therefore the engine sits even higher. being 4wd, you can't re work the engine mounts to lower the engine a little as it will screw with the 4wd system. Therefore, you will need to get a new plenum AND trim the support on your bonnet. OR use an Rb26 head and still trim the bonnet support. because of the RB26 head, you will need to have a new manifold put together for a single turbo. because of the rb26 head, you will need to have the rb30 block redrilled to suit the new larger studs of the rb26 head. Because you now have an RB26/30 engine, your pissy 400hp turbo is going to be useless and be on boost all the time and die off early in the rev range. therefore, you will want a GT30 of some sort around the 500hp region. Since you are using an RB26 head with nice new large turbo, you think to yourself, do I really want to bolt all this good stuff to a 300,000km 1987 built rb30 from a VL which was probably never looked after all that well. I might as well get one of those fored pistons and rods packages from that guy on these forums.. Then you realise that the bottom end should probably go in for a good clean and check and test. then you get worried that you might ruin something trying to put in your brand new forged $$$$ bits so you deliver it all to an engine builder to do all the machining required and get it all working. I could go on if you want more of my "stories of the guy who thought about doing the same thing" You want a cheap fix? get it to a mechanic to fix the gasket. you have little bit more money? find your self a Stagea front cut (rb25 with 4wd sump which you need) you got even more money? be one of those "I wanna be different" guys and get an RB22, 23, 24 built. you got rich daddy who gives you what ever you want? go to fancy performance shop., drop car off, give them blank cheque, tell them you want an RB26/30 combo which produces a rebliable xxx rwkw and to call you when it's done.
  5. how much power does your car make? do you think that a stock paper filter from nissan is really a restriction? Look into Piper Cross Filters.
  6. rexnet.com anyone there will tell you an STI over a wrx. but if it is never going to see a track, then all the alloy bits in the suspension and the brembos are probably a waste of money. Why not get the WRP10.. kind of a middle point. looks better than stock rex. has more power and torque, costs less than the sti.. and has some good sti bits... tuning, sway bars etc.. http://www.mrtrally.com.au/performance/new...u_WR_WRP_10.htm
  7. makes 2 of us..
  8. if you are on a tight budget, add an SAFC in there and get it tuned. SAFC with the blue screen is worth about $300 or so. Tune is about $150. install it yourself.. it only has like 6 wires. comes with instructions. and you can search and find the ECU pin out diagram for your car on here somewhere.. that way, with your r34 cooler, exhaust, and extra boost, you can have the fueling tuned to make sure it's safe and also gain more power at the same time.. yes. heat wrap the dump and front pipe if you can. yes, you can run a 14.. aim higher.. all the above mods should net you about 190rwkw.. that should be good enough for a 13 of some sort.... with a bit of launch practice..
  9. nice work bringing up a thread from last year. apart from that. all the stuff you mentioned above is regualr shit that everyone comes across in a 15 year old car. lets see. spark plugs = $4 each = $24 02 sensor won't make any difference to generating power and only work when off boost. fuel pump wiring would cost a grand total of $20 new split fire coils cost about $600 or you could have used electrical tape as a temporary measure to see if they really were the issue.. what did CRD charge you for all the above work which neted the 200rwkw you should have already had, had your car been maintained properly?
  10. RIP to your friend.. But still think you're a dik head and a Hypocrite.

  17. Hi, I'm looking for a cheap respray. *all the you get what you pay for crowd.... BACK button is at the top right to exit* I'm looking at buying a car which has been keyed along one side and has a graze across the front corner of the bumper on the opposite side of the key scratch. So I figure I might as well see what a respray in same colour to freshen up will cost. not engine bay or door jam work. panels shut respray. Hoping for under $2K The car is a station wagon. the current colour is a metalic mica red. (kinda like a wine red or burgundy) if you are a painter and want some monies.. let me know. if you know someone who can do the job for under $2K.. let me know. I don't want to do ANY prep work myself. Cheers in advance.

  25. Car looks great no doubt. But forget that.. I have to say that your post, as a 15 year old is probably the most mature post I have ever seen. Not one single txt talk word. Not one single stupid remark. Well done. And good luck with the car and sharing. I hope you have budgeted for insurance. It may just be a non turbo but that won’t deter thieves. Please get comprehensive insurance. Cheers
