I wouldn't do intercooler before turbo back exhaust, air filter and boost. if you already have those, then yes go intercooler. $1400 would get you a decent Jap brand intercooler kit. $500 would get you a generic Just jap kit which works just as good. that's a decent price for the pfc supply, fit and tune. I'd go in order of mods.. turbo back exhaust air filter (panel filter in stock air box) boost controller intercooler kit fuel pump pfc tune should give you somewhere around 200-210 rwkw with a safe tune.

I'm not doing your searching for you. it's been covered more than flutter bro threads. RB25's always have a miss when boost is raised more than a couple of psi. they go rich to compensate for the extra air flow, and in turn retard and you have a flat spot or miss at around 5000rpm.

it's for the Attessa 4wd system.

poor mooner. take a wonder in to the rb30det thread sticky in the forced induction section. do it do it do it. cheapest power you can get.

you searched but didn't find the exact proplem of an R33 gtst with stock ECU missing when on anything more than 10 psi boost? LIAR!!!

wanted to send you a PM but your PM's not working or full. so here you go.. I am semi interested in an R33 but don't want to go through selling my car for it etc.. Let me know if you are interested in a straight swap (your car in a $12K price set up) my car is a 4 door R32 GTS4 so it is 4wd and 4 doors. mods are: FMIC boost controller suspension gtr wheels panel filter in stock box. Colour is R33 GTR purple. see pics. It's hard to find a MANUAL 4wd 4 door and it is easily worth more than $12K so I am only interested in a straight swap so I thought I'd run it by you to see if you'd be interested. Let me know.. Thanks -
in laymans terms, it adjusts how fast you want it to BUILD boost. you use the SET to set your limit, and use GAIN to adjust how it BUILDS the boost. It basically keeps the wastegate shut longer to make boost come on harder, as you have higher gain, and the opposite when you have less.
-
that's what I thought, but SK's temp numbers don't say so.. and that's proof from actually doing it rather than guessing..

fmic and 14psi boost should see close to 165-170rwkw if you are willing to test that sort of boost on stock turbo.. a few people have.. i think both roy and cubes ran this sort of boost on stock turbo and it didn't break.. no guarantees though.. 180rwkw is not going to happen with stock turbo. fmic kit from JUST JAP will set you back $500 or so.. see traders for sale section. Dr Drift can also do retuned Stock ECU for about $400 or so I think. now.. you say you don't want to change turbo but considering an Rb25 turbo will cost you like $350 these days, it's cheaper than both the above bits, but they are ALL needed for the 180rwkw you are after.
-
expect about 220rwkw-ish. it seems to be the norm with a hiflow and tuned ecu with that sort of boost. it will be better than stock but keep in mind this.. your car weighs the same as a GTR. It's already laggy with stock turbo. it will get a little laggier with more top end. I've got the same as you.. 4 years older, 2 extra doors, but still, the same thing. If you will be happy with the 220rwkw mark then that's good. I think that works out to be somewhere near 190awkw or so.. not sure.

man this thing went off topic.. glad someone bought it back a little. I just wanted to know if there was anything stoping the RB20 making the same sort of power using the S15 turbo. As in ... is the S15 turbo (the turbo itself) capable of producing the same numbers on the RB20 os is there something about the RB20 that stops it doing so.? no more SR v RB bullshit. Also, the whole ball bearing and non ball bearing thing has been sorted long before.. it is not about which car it came in or which country. The only thing that the splitter on the exhaust side says is that it is from an S15, but doesn't always mean ball bearing. only the part numbers sort it out. All that matters is the garret number, everything else just confuses matters 466541 = ball bearing 466543 = bush bearing for the second bit of the number -001 = S14 turbo (no splitter between wastegate and turbine exit) -002 = S15 turbo (splitter between wastegate and turbine exit) cheers

most I had seen was 197 or something like that from CEFFIE

Your Advice. I Have A "good" Dilemna Here
TTT replied to LatinR33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
book him in Davo I'm pretty sure it been covered before but I'll try to remember. when RB25 owners have upgraded from stock intercooler to fmic, they GAINED in many ways. 1.) car is more punchy. 2.) No increase in lag. 3.) actually gained more power too. Considering that the stock cooler on the r33 is same as r32 (in size and efficiency), you can see how you would gain with a fmic. the stocker is pretty crap in general on an RB20 so going up 500cc and about 30kw using the same cooler is pretty crap. put it this way, by puting this fmic on (nice choice by your friends I might add), during the day, your motor will be seeing the same sort of temps as it does at night. and during the night, you will get even better performance. being a fello SAU member, I am willing to help you out if you don't put this thing on your car, by personally, taking it out of your site for you. -
LOL.. I was under the impression that the VVT on the S14 and 15 sr20's were only good for low down grunt. I just assumed that by using 7psi in stock trim to put out about 100-110rwkw and being able to get that to 220rwkw using same turbo, 2.5 times more boost, and other mods, would the same said mods produce same numbers when used on an Rb20? I guess I was trying to find out if the S15 turbo when implemented on an RB20, can produce sr20 style numbers. or is the turbo just designed right for the sr20 and won't do the same on the rb20?

link to jaycar one? I like reading these kits.

nice conversion.. don't want to buy it but do want some parts off it. if you get to the point where you want to sell off parts, I'll buy a few and give you stockers in return.. "IF" you get to that point. turbo fuel pump short shifter
