quick question. avo 450 turbo means 450hp right? 450hp x 0.745699872 (which is kw in 1 hp) = 335.5649424 kw so if at maximum, this turbo can flow enough to make 335kw at the engine, how does it equate to 348kw at all 4 wheels? perhaps it was a typo?

*prepares rosso's words on a nice plate, with knife and fork* would you like any cracked pepper or a drink with that mate? bahahahaha eat up buddy.. doesn't get much more owned than that. Shane - it's definitely a good buy.. but like I said, I'd get bored with an auto.. or would I? I am getting old these days.. I just think that it is ridiculously cheap. I would have thought a cressida of that vintage, in that condition, with leather interior alone would be in the $7K bracket. let alone one that has had an engine conversion... anyway, it would still be faster than my 1450kg gts4 with rb20 in it..

LOL... I'm just trying to get more info and opinions on them. but the above link is pretty much like finding an RB26dett powered ceffiro for like $7K. It's auto and I think I'd be bored with something like that.. I don't know.. I mean my current car is a 4 door gts4 and weighs in at 1450kg apparently. powered by an RB20det. sure it's OK, but it is not exactly a rocket ship. then again at this point in my life, do i want a rocket ship? who knows.. but the whole toyota equivelant of nissan (kinda anyway), is interesting. not one to do an engine conversion myself. so what is a better buy? 1500 odd kg of soarer? 1350 odd kg of R33? god only knows.. I think too much.. about stupid shit..

just something I came across during my forum browsing.. ZOMG... http://www.rslibertyclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=57119

there are some jap intercooler kits that use the stock pies so you don't need cutting. ARC makes one. I think BLITZ also does one. but price.. even second hand.. up to you I guess. Here is how JUST JAP intercooler kit looks behind my front bar.. (type M r32 gts4 sedan) Medium dave - I questioned this. the fact that you would need to buy a water canister (probably 5L), a pump, decent spray nozzles (not garden sprinkler variety), water lines, some sort of controller to turn it on and off manually or by throttle position or boost sensing, then wiring it all in... Kinda out weighs the tiny if any benefit it will have on the standard interheater. I even went to the effort of purchasing a jza80 2jsgte twin turbo supra intercooler to fit it in the side there.. but it was too big for the side and too fat for the front (135mm thick). then there is the R34 side mount option.. NOPE. inlet and outlet are not right.. fits an R33 or stagea (rb25 engined cars) but not R32. still, it is only a mild upgrade. long story short. exhaust air filter and little boost, stock cooler is fine on the street and occasionaly drag strip. circuit work, it's useless. if you want to go further with mods, a fmic is a decent upgrade.

Gary - I'd like my payment in cash.. being of Middle eastern appearance, it is the only right way to go about my bribe.. cheers.

and the result was? i remember reading about the 1jz in a 180.. rb25 in 180 is done many times. I think it was at the early stages of the 1jz in 180 so there wasn't much to tell. any update?

why? pfc still uses the air flow meter.. how is it any different? and why is the atmo the one to "go all the way" when a pfc is fitted?

nismoid.. was that last statement supposed to say WON'T fix the problem? CEFFIE - you moved to Canberra? why on earth would you do that? what.. sydneys daily shootings is not good enough for ya? hahaha -
fmic kit.. costs about $500 from just jap. side intercooler upgrades are avialable from from ARC I think. but the cooler itself (if you can find one) costs more than a whole FMIC kit from just jap does. I had a ARC side mount on my old r32 (fluke.. picked it up for $50) and at a lazy 155rwkw it worked fine. My current R32 has a just jap fmic kit. it causes no problems and works fine. you're thinking too much about it. just remember, an intercoolers role is to simply remove heat from the air that passes through it.. kinda like a heat sink. $500 and a weekend of your time.. money well spent.

mate if you have a picture of your engine bay (looking from front of car towards firewall) I can circle where you need to attach a boost gauge as the factory gauge is connected there. Have you tried simple things like cleaning your air filter?
-
get in line... bovs are mine.. well that is if angry didn't already get them which I think he would have.
-
actually.. just continued reading... it says you weighed in at 3460 pounds.. which is about 1530kg same as soarer.. nice..
-
you guys are missing my point. I initially said that 90% of the skylines out there are street only. maybe a few of that 90% take it to the drag strip... and only a handful see a circuit. talking about soft suspension and shit.. that's a bit silly. do you really think that a 95 skyline with 10 year old factory suspension is a good handling machine? everyone seems to change the suspension to a kit or jap parts or even king springs bro.. do the same to the soarer and it's in the same boat (pun intended). they are both largish cars with useless back seats for anyone larger than my wife and her twin. 1jz-747 - this is your car, yes?? what does it weigh? more or less than a soarer? by the way people.. the naming convention is.. R33 = Whale Soarer = land barge, or boat. get it right..
-
nah he's dodgey. I don't trust him... anyone with that much knowledge has got to be a freak. LOL.. I suggest you send him a quick PM asking questions about OIL control in RB motors.. hahahahaha

-
you seem to have some traction issues there mate

a stock rb20 turbo doesn't fall off boost at 4000rpm then come back after 6000rpm. what does the boost gauge show between 4000rpm and 6000rpm where you say is flat? does it drop in boost? what is your boost set at? other than exhaust, what mods do you have?

so foot is flat on floor, gear changes, foot still on floor. I don't see how a bov will help this at all. it doesn't go in to VACUUM at all (you said stays around 9psi) so how will the bov even open to circulate this? although, maybe the stock skyline (R32 or R33 is same.. by part number even) which has that little bleed hole under it next to the bov piston will allow circulation during AUTO gearshift. If you want to TEST, I can help you out on the weekend with stock bov on my car. TT -
did angry get the gtr bovs?
