  1. question: not directly related to Rb30 but I guess it can be included as well. with compression ratios.. A stock rb30 bottom and stock rb25de head = 8.3:1 comp ratio. if you had different pistons to make 9:1 comp ratio, everything else being equal in the 2 engines, how much more boost would the lower comp engine need to make same power as high comp engine? another point is, would a rb25 with 9:1 comp ratio have more/same torque down low (under 3000rpm) as this 8.3:1 comp ratio'd RB30? and does anyone know what compression ratio a factory RB25DE has.

  4. Bump Quick question for ya Dunc. Will your device work ALONG WITH the attessa on off switch that DIRTGARAGE makes? I think his device pretty much just disables the fuse for the attessa. I guess I m looking for best of both worlds.. your device for good cornering and his device for burnouts before drag racing.. cheers big ears.. oh just incase you don'tknow what I am talkign about,.. Dirtgarage has a group buy in here somewhere for his device. $35 or something.. thanks
  5. are you certain your valve springs are up to the task? I think Joel is not having issues with this and they were tested fine. just a thought. when the turbo was rebuilt, was it hi flowed in any way? or just a stock rebuild.
  6. There whould be an arrow on that which point the direction of boost. The hose from the wastegate goes to the TIP of the arrow (so the arrow points at the wastegate hose) and the hose from the Intercooler pipe goes to the other side. this should be with the instructions mate.

  8. I would have thought that power could have been had with those mods on that boost limit on an RB20 let alone a 30..
  9. the chipped ecu can't be retuned on the fly. it needs to have a new chip burnt so to speak. turbo light worked fine on my previous skyline. there are 2 types. 4100 and another ...

  13. I think BU5TER "might" have an aftermarket manifold. I can't confirm as the T51 KAI turbo was blocking the view to where the manifold is. maybe e can let us know. anywho.... didn't SK's 475hp rb30 have a stock manifold?
  14. na rb25 from an R32 has the same injectors as rb20det about turboing it? I don't know.. I'd go another rb20 or have a look at my HYBRID RB thread in this section where someone posted a link to building an RB24 and 22 and so forth. however, if you really want an upgrade, you need the money.. then go rb30det or rb26dett

I'm now under the impression that he knows what boost is and how to measure it. he had a few questions in there which were not really obvious. 1.) what is the boost measured in? 2.) what is it in PSI? 3.) why is the part below not measured the same as abvoe the line? 4.) whay is the part below the 0 in different scale not just different measurements.

  24. vacuum is measured differently to possitive pressure. and to keep the same scale would need a huge gauge. below the 0 on your gauge is in mm/hg I think which is mm in Mercury if I remember correctly.
