  1. as a test, why not take the line off the wastegate and go for a drive slowly. see if boost goes over the 5-6 psi you've been getting. since nothing is there to open the wastegate, it should have unlimited boost so do it carefully and slowly. at least this will test if your wastegate is stuck open or not.
  2. hahahahaha you must be one of those poor disabled people who can't control pressure with their right foot. :uh-huh: therefore, what you need is an RB20det equiped car. then you can flatten your foot to the floor all you want and wait for the power to come on.. hahahahah *just waiting for Roy to come and yell at me..*
  3. hmmm after reading the heading I didn't see the subject... my bad..
  4. advertise the price before a mod locks or deletes your thread dude.
  5. Not when it comes to plenums.

The downgrade from S14 to barina was due to Thieving Kunts and no comp insurance. saving for wedding now so barina stays for another 6 months or so. out of all those cars for a first car I'd say the corolla.
  7. so lets see here... you want... no lag good off boost driveability ability to run a large turbo no gearbox problems not too expensive? hmmmm.. rb30det seems the way to go. it's the answer to every performance question on this forum. Q)how do I get more power from my R32 gtst? A)RB30det Q)How do I beat a (insert any performance car here) A)RB30det. Q)How do I have heaps of power without more lag? A)RB30det. Q)Will my R33 gtst beat a wrx? A)with an RB30det it will. Q)How do we end this thread? A) RB30det. Q)How do I get an RB30det? A)RB30det.. I mean http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=15420
  8. Dropped it? as in on the floor? hahahaha jebus..
  9. sproosy - where in sydney are you getting the R32 RB25de head for cheap? and how much is cheap?
  10. quiet evo boy!!!
  11. so describe this sound.. or record it and attach here. it could just be that the bov wasn't able to vent enough.. and therefore even though it was venting everything it could, there was still some reversion through the turbo.. I really can't see how a wastegate that needs say 15psi of pressure to open could close and open on gearchanges. I don't see how there can be fluctuating pressure in the exhaust manifold/turbine area during gearchanges which go from 0 to somehting above the spring pressure of the wastegate to cause it to open and shut.
  12. *makes Cyph3r a badge that says "I have never heard an external wastegate in my life"* wear it proudly my good man. perhaps someone with an external wastegate that is open to atmo will see you with it and take you for a spin to let you hear the sound that an external wastegate dumping to atmo actually sounds like.
  13. *stands in front of mirror and points and laughs...* OK.... I typed that before lunch.. I was hungry.. not thinking right.
  14. yes.. and this thread was about a 03 wrx.
  15. hahahahahaha... poor gary.. see what knowledge does to ya?
  16. wrxhoon - exactly what I've been trying to say.. and have said... a few times.. perhaps I should try to translate it to another language for some people.
  17. *shudders at VR4.* take my advice.. don't get one. the EVO II idea might be a goer if you can find one in good condition. good luck with that search
  18. yes.. it says 3085 pounds. devide that with 2.25 (1 kg = 2.25 pounds) and you get 1371kg. so basically says that the 03 wrx is HEAVIER than the R33 GTST considering your data says Gts 25 coupe 1310 kg manual, and like I said, auto is even heavier at 3140 for the sedan and 3220 for the auto wagon
  19. that's different.. he said BLOW off.. not BOG off..
  20. how do you know his rex is way lighter? did you pick it up over your head then your car and go .. yeh.. I only got 1 rep with the skyline and easily 3 reps with the rex? it's been posted before. the manufacterer states that the 03 wrx is 1350kg. probably slightly heavier for the AUTO and maybe a little heavier again for the wagon shape. and so is the R33 GTST. again... you "THINK" wrong.
  21. you're wrong, then you're right. wrong because the 2003 wrx is the same weight as an R33 gtst.. 1350kg as posted before. but you're right. because the wrx would still beat it in a straight line or circuit when both stock. sure it's unfair to compare a 96 model r33 with stock 9 year old suspension to a 03 wrx with 2 year old suspension but that is what was asked in this thread.
  22. quick question: the RB30's in the VL's were used with LEADED petrol right? and to use unleaded they needed some additive to protect the rings?(not sure if this part is right) so do you need to buy different rings when rebuilding the stock bottom end for a det conversion? Gary said stock rings, bearings...etc... so can someone explain the reason why an additive is required for older cars to use Unleaded fuel? cheers
  23. I find it really odd why people associate the word "sequential" with a fluttering sound.
  24. oh nice work. thanks.. much appreciated. I might keep the 3.5 inch piping and crushed muffler I was trying to sell for later then...
