  1. 1.) they cost like $20 second hand.. just post a wanted add in the wanted section. 2.)they just make a whooshing sound. 3.)yes it will reduce or eliminate the popping sound from the exhaust as the car won't run rich in between gearshifts as it will be plumback. and it out flows much more than your stock turbo will ever be able to throw at it.
  2. Which company makes the quietest aftermarket 3"+ exhausts for skylines? after my current system on the S14, I don't want a loud one for the next skyline I get. I also don't want a cannon muffler. what other options do I have here?
  3. One of my rb20 coil packs died. Managed to find which one and replaced it. but during the testing to find which one it was, I had the coil cover off, and cable tied the ignitor to the firewall. Not sure if this answers your question though.
  4. well I'll cross that bridge when I get to it
  5. did you guys even see the pics?? hahahaha.. it would have been a better job if he cut and shut the stock RB25 plenum. it's just a rectangle box on top of the runner. no tappering.. back in your hole son..
  6. I think FATS on this forum has an RB26 in his R31, with a Ford XR6T turbo hanging off the side. He is using the stock RB20det gearbox for now. he is also using a stock GTR clutch. now, from what I have heard, and video's I've seen, FATS doesn't baby his car... he has about 280rwkw I believe, and I'm sure that the midrange torque from that motor/turbo combo is fairly hefty. So there is plenty of life in the RB20 gearbox. sure an RB25 one would be a better option, but when I do this conversion, I will not be spending an extra $2K to replace a gearbox which is working fine. I plan to do my engine conversion for $5K - so obviously it will be a simple, budget build. *yells at calendar.. "hurry up 2006"*
  7. Is there a reason why you guys are NOT using stock bov? If you have it still, just put it back on and go for a drive and see how much better the car behaves, drives and sounds.
  8. RSTME - you want flutter - remove the stock bov and block all holes and vacuum lines that were being used by it. you have flutter. Does the stock bov do anything? Yes it does. DRFTGTR - is flutter bad for engine? No it does NOTHING to the "ENGINE"
  9. yeh but you only get it at low rpm/boost levels right? not at when you shift at 12psi.. You can't help this with aftermarket bovs. none of them work like factory ones.
  10. I used mine to get the car tuned. so I don't care what it displays.. so.... hahahahahaha
  11. if it is as loose as the setting goes, then there is nothing you can do but go back to the stock bov (which will probably be better anyway) or run a stock airbox instead of a pod. that will muffle the sound and you won't hear enough of it to be annoyed.
  12. Damn I hate that add.
  13. If more become available, I'll be interested. Just need the head really..
  14. see the screw on top of the bov. turning that clockwise TIGHTENS the bov, making it harder to open turning that anti-clockwise LOOSENS the bov, making it easier to open. so my guess is that when you pulled it apart and cleaned and put it back together, you didn't tighten it as much... Or it was just fithy and wasn't working properly. I hope you lubed it back up before putting it all back together.. WD40 will be fine.. although, a little oil will make it's way there so I guess it will be lubed anyway. Don't worry. you put it together fine. that is how it is supposed to work.
  15. cause it's a fully sick GTR motor bro.. teh GTAH can neva loose.. remember that..
  16. you don't have a sig....
  17. Goon - Call him for his best price. DJ - what you laughing at? :confused
  18. not a drop in.. hence the top feed rb20 and side feed rb25. forget rb25 injectors.
  19. oh I will... I was always going to use the stock injectors during run in anyway, but I might push them further.. then upgrade to gtr ones and push those to what I need.
  20. I think someone in the R33/RB30 thread was going to/did do this..
  21. I'm not sure if I'm right here, but hear me out.. r33 gearboxes are tough as nails.. R32 GTR gearboxes are tough as nails. R32 GTR gearboxes are INTERNALLY the same as an R33 GTST gearbox (except for the front shafts thing..) SK has said this many times. all the GTR boxes and R33 gtst gearboxes he has opened up have been the same internally. so with the front drive shafts taken out of a gtr gearbox and the sump welded up, it is basically a R33 gtst gearbox. I have also heard many times that the R32 GTS4 (4wd) gearbox is IDENTICAL to the gtr item. it is the same box. and therefore, the drive shafts can be taken out, welded up and used for rear wheel drive, which is the same as a gtr box, which is the same as a R33 gtst box. hmmm.. r33 gtst box = $2K+ if you can find one. r32 gtr box = $1K+ R32 gts4 box = $500+ surely someone has stumbled across this already or at least thought about it. or maybe I am wrong about the whole comparison...
  22. Cablaammoooo!!!!!
  23. 6 x 270cc injectors at stock fuel pressure at 100% duty cycle should flow enough for ROUGHLY 324hp at the engine. (27x2)x6) = 324 that is ROUGHLY 226kw at the engine (I think) that is ROUGHLY 181rwkw (if you say 20% loss to the rears....) are my calcs wrong? I know for a fact that just an upgraded fuel pump does not increase the pressure (at least my walbro one didn't over the stock S14 item) someone help me out here.. how can 270cc injectors be pushed to produce 240rwkw at 70% duty cycle with the regulator. I understand that an increase in fuel pressure will in a way make the injectors flow more than 270cc but THAT much more? I'm kinda happy that this is so.. saves me buying injectors at the begining.. but I want to see others thoughts.
  24. DJ_LETHAL - I forwarded your message to him to email you. GTS4 - sorry. he bought a Swift GTi as a run about until he goes overseas?
