T3/t04e Garrett/warranty Bargin!
TTT replied to boosted_32's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hi. Have you met Prank? -
I'm starting to think that you can't read. or you like to be told things more than 3 times. All Turbosmart bovs: SOFT = LOOSE = Anticlockwise HARD = TIGHT = Clockwise
-
Bingo
-
well then it should have a sticker on it to say which way to loosen and which way to tighten. anyway, it should be anti clockwise for loosening (soft setting) you could have gone to the www.turbosmart.com.au site and looked at their products and found this picture.. anyway.. not your bov but all turbo smart bovs adjust the same way.

R33 Cat back exhaust - 3.5 inch
TTT replied to TTT's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Pics above.. come on guys.. cat back's don't come much cheaper.. especially Jap ones. and especially 3.5 inch ones. -
1.) no you don't neet an aftermarket bov. 2.) you want that sound, Block the bov and all it's vacuum and return lines. lock it.. lock it now..!!!
-
man every time you talk about your RB30det, I start to salivate.. I still have to wait a year. I'm gonna go bug sydney kid to take me for a spin in his latest Rb31
-
what type of bov. generally, Anti-clockwise will loosen the spring tension and alow it to open at less boost levels. some have screws on top, and some others have the whole top that turns like turbosmart ones.

I have a used R33 GTST cat back exhaust. it has a few bumps. It is 3.5 inches in diameter. No brand on it. The muffler on it is damaged and can't be used. I am willing to sell this pipework for $300 as is, or will get a muffler put on it and sell it for $600. It is 3.5 inch, Cat back exhaust system with no muffler at the moment. it has a resonator muffler halfway down the pipework. Looks to be Mild steel like most jap systems. Sydney buyers only. Pics: pics: reason why it requires a new muffler. Dent

oh sorry. I read it as if you were using an RB30 bottom end on the Rb26 head. disregard my post cause I don't think it helps at all....
-
on what car? if the rb26 is still in a gtr and you need it to be 4wd, then NO, you can't use an RB30 stock sump. if in RWD car, then I think that an RB25 or RB20 sump will fit the RB30 bottom end with small mods to the fins on the inside. to use an rb30 bottom end in a 4wd setup, you need an adapter plate. Someone on these forums is able to sell you one for $450. a compnay in NZ charges about a $1K
-
only reply so far.. kinda expensive but I will keep it in mind.
-
Need a replacement muffler. Prefer 3.5 inch through out but 3 inch will do. The Barrel of the muffler needs to be 35cm long or about 47cm long including tip. used or new. don't care. not after anything fancy. just a stainless muffler to meet above criteria. as cheap as possible. in Sydney. cheers.

*shrugs* I was just looking at a tough build. and assumed you'd want to. personally, when I do my one, I'll be using rb30 bottom end with stock pistons and rods, stock nissan gaskets, stock RB25de head. using some decent sized turbo, intercooler, oil cooler, ecu, I am looking at 250rwkw+ and that is my goal. and I have been told many a times that the above combo will do it. see mine is all cheap options.. But you already have a RB26dett head with decent turbo's on there. I assumed you'd spend an extra $1200 odd for peace of mind. Is it required??? I don't know.. gary would be better off answering that.
-
yeh I think that the cost of the 4wd sump for the rb30 bottom end was $450 ish.. that's heaps less than what you will get from the sale of the stock rb26 bottom end don't you think? as for your points above.. street - what could be better than massive torque for street driving? stip - again.. torque wins races. cheap - a touch RB30 bottom end will probably cost similar to an RB26 bottom build but be capable of more power at same boost levels. since you have a perfectly working head. I can't see the cost being too much. rough numbers. pistons = $1200 rods = $1200 (I think that was a price thrown around in the rb30 thread) VRS gasket kit was $300 I think. machining for the block = ??? $500 ??? am I way off?

FS: r33 gts4 5 speed gearbox
TTT replied to 30et's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
oh there is no doubt here. the rwd r32 gearbox is piss weak compared to the rwd R33 gearbox. But, if GTR's use the same gearbox as R32 GTS4's, then the R33 GTS4 4dw gearbox is the same as the GTR gearbox which is the same as the R32 GTS4 gearbox which is worth about $500 - $1000. Just call a few places if you really want. I'm just trying to clear up what people are saying here.. that's all. cheers -
FS: r33 gts4 5 speed gearbox
TTT replied to 30et's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
If the R32 GTS4 (4wd) gearbox is the same as a GTR one which is internally the same as a STOCK bullet proof R33 GTST gearbox, then what would make you think the R33 GTS4 gear box is any different. Basically, what mad GT4 is trying to say is that Stock GTS4 and GTR gearboxes (which are the same unit) sell for $500 in some sydney Wreckers. your one is the same. That is the point he is making. -
well if you want to look at it that way, the interior is nothing exciting in the R33 gtst range either. Name one other car under $50K that comes with front seats like the WRX have from 96 onwards. Name one other car under $50K that comes with a DECENT MOMO air bagged steering wheel? I'll admit, the door trim and dash on the WRX are as crap as they come. but the seats are ALOT better than any of the GTST range. The handling in standard form is alot better than the handling of the standard R33 gtst. power delivery I also agree with you there.. but you gotta give credit where credit is due. they are a good budget car. and lets admit it, subaru still makes turbo cars. Nissan aren't.

I bet your one doesn't say that...
-
yeh and ALL skyliners are a great bunch of people aren't they?
-
well you hadf a bad experience and I had many good ones with it so I don't know what else to say. Oh.. I cleaned my S14 AFM with degreaser on saturday afternoon when I washed the air filter and the car is working perfectly. tight arse.. hahahaha.. good one mate.
-
that was OMG that did that test. all the coolers were about the same except the blitz. it was showing temps at least a few degrees cooler than the rest at same pressure drop.. about 1psi at 15psi boost.
