  1. LMAO at all those talking about beating GTiR's in their whales.. Please...!!! and a prelude keeping up? pull the other one..!! not many of their owners are willing to do 7000rpm launches.. 2 weeks ago at WSID, there was a little black one with 15 inch wheels, pod filter and turbo back exhaust. boost was up from 10.5psi to about 11.5psi with the intake and exhaust done.. with a nice launch.. (as in no dumps.. just slip the clutch a little and release when it gets moving), and crappy 60' times, he was running 13.5 all night.. let's remember that 1 second difference in a 1/4 mile race is about what? 3 or 4 car lengths? 4 R33 gtst's were there last night and I knew 3 of them.. 1 with semi slicks and about 200rwkw ran a best of 13.4 the other with a little less power and street tyres but completely striped interior ran a 13.4 the last one which had cat back and a pod filter and 17's ran 15 flat. the 4th I didn't know had fullsick leather interior and stereo stuff and was running high 14's.. So i call "BULLSHIT" to all of you saying you beat or kept up with a GTiR unless... *you have over 200rwkw *lightened car *or the GTiR had issues..
  2. no it won't lose the settings... it is stored in "NON VOLATILE RAM" I think that's what it is called. however, the car you pull it out of will not run if the controller is disconnected but the loom is still in place..
  3. 3 inch exhaust from the turbo back. (not just cat back) mild steel or stainless.. doesn't matter.. small (possibly cannon type) muffler. 3 inch Hi flowing CAT converter. NO resonator muffler (they just quieten it and you want it loud) that will give you the maximum power and loud noise you are after.. workshops - any known exhaust place could do it.. or you could get it all japanese... but they tend to be quieter.. Speak to a guy on these forums with the user id BATMBL. he can get you a good price for the CAT and front/dump pipe. then buy a cannon muffler and take it all to an exhaust place and ask them to fit it all and make up some 3 inch straight as possible piping from cat to the cannon muffler you bought. then you have what you are after..
  4. ??? the intercooler was filling up with water? so you're saying, the water was going up the cold air duct pipe, somehow through the air filter, through the turbo and in to the intercooler? that's pretty much impossible.. or are we getting our wires crossed. you said... I read "IC" as InterCooler please explain..
  5. I "HAD" this on my skyline. I no longer have this on my skyline and my S14 does not have the same under bonnet temps are the R32 use to. so no images.. sorry..
  6. cool. you have a fmic. so the stock cooler place is perfect for a cold air duct. go to a plumbing store and buy 3 inch PVC piping.. get about a meter. also buy 2 x 90 degree bends and 2 x 45 degree bends. also get that blue plumbers glue. now go home, cut a 3 inch hole in the panel under the pod filter, and design a cold air duct with the pipes you got so that it goes from the front bar up to the hole under the pod. this wouldn't cost you any more than about $20. buy some Matt black spray paint too so that once you have measured and cut the PVC piping for the CAI, and you have trial fitted it perfectly as you want it, Glue it together and then once dry, paint the thing black so that it can't be seen too easily.. NOTE. the bends that I told you to buy are great. Once you have those and the straight pipes all together, it all fits together like lego. and it is a perfect 3 inches and smooth on the inside for better air flow. unlike those air con ducts that people use.. that flexible slinky type stuff is crap.
  7. do you have a Frount mounted intercooler? if not, you will not be able to feed cold air from the bottom due to the fact that the stock cooler is there.. If you want to do something cheap, go to Clarks rubber and ask for some of that Shielded rubber/foam stuff. then go home, get some cardboard and get in your engine bay and try to cut out a partition that would go between the angine and the pod filter. get it perfect, then cut that shape out of the shielded rubber stuff. when you place the new created shield, make sure the silver shielded stuff FACES the engine bay and the rubber/foam stuff faces the pod filter. this will help a little and only cost you about $20 for a whole sheet of the rubber stuff.
  8. yes yes.. I understand. It's was simply stating that by getting a mild steel one, you will make the same power as a Stainless one.. AND save about $500 which you could spend on other things.. and I was also recommending Western mufflers as I have had 2 of my cars done there for great prices and good work. that is all.
  9. I've always had mild steel and not had any problems.. end since it is going to give you the same POWER, I wouldn't bother.. That's just me.. I'd rather spend the extra $500 + on something like a EBC..
  10. you on a budget? Western Mufflers 43 Fairfield St Fairfield NSW 2165 ph: (02) 9681 2899 owners name is John. Mild steel turbo back would be under $1000 with a stainless cannon muffler if that's your thing..
  11. Western Mufflers in Fairfield.. look them up in the yellowpages... Speak to John.
  12. Looks is a personal choice/opinion. I've had an R32 GTST.. I liked the way it looked. I don't really like the S13's simply cause I don't like the way they look. But the whole interior is crap thing is a waste of time.. and so are stock comparisons.. S13 interior.. main problem are the crap seats and colour right? S14/S14A/S15 interiors front and rear are direct bolt ons. go find a S15 GT interior in leather and stick it in the S13.. problem solved. And how many STOCK silvia's or skylines do you fin these days? NONE!!! if you like the look of the R32 then there is no use looking at the silvia cause you have already made up your mind. In terms of mods, the S13 silvia (at 1190kg) with the same mods done as to the r32 gtst will be quicker. same suspension mods to both and the silvia will handle better.. So apart from looking better (personal opinion) the R32 GTST has NOTHING on the silvia's.. When you get to levels of 250rwkw, then there MAY be advantages the RB MIGHT have over the SR... but apart from that, the Silvia always comes up on top in terms of performance of any sort.. straight, twisty.. and things like brakes and so on are cheaply upgradeable on the silvia's so this is nothing to worry about..
  13. Who's got a set they don't want? Prefer to pick up from Sydney.. what are they worth?
  14. I think that the only mod you will have to do it to the way that the fuel pump is held in place in the craddle. I remember when I went from a R32 GTST stock pump to a R32 GTR pump, the craddle for the fuel pump had to be modified to hold the gtr pump in place.. But how it was modified, I can't remember.. Don't think it was too hard a job though..
  15. is it loud with the 6 inch exhaust?
  16. umm.. I tried for 3 months to GIVE my one away for FREE. finally got rid of it.. FOR FREE!!!! they are pretty useless and every R32 owner either wants a GTR spoiler or no spoiler.. best bet is to put it on the street during large garbage pick up days.
  17. If you purchased it NEW, then all settings will be zero and your car should run as it was before.. you just need to make a few selections, like number of cylinders and type of AFM. then drive it to the tuner.. if you purchased it second hand, the last cars settings will be on it.. once installed, go through the menu's and choose initialize to clear all setting's then do as above for cylinders and AFM
  18. so which one does your car have?
  19. how can you compare the 2 cars if you haven't driven both? and how can you think about buying a car just because it sounds good.. that's just odd to me. I went from my R32 to my S14. I've never really liked R33's due to them just being too chunky for my liking. The RB25 is a great enigne, there is no doubt about that.. But I wouldn't change my S14 for any gtst... It does everything I want it to. it's light, it's quick, it's comfortable, it looks decent, and everything works, all the time. I just don't think that you should be saying the skyline is better and then say, "but I haven't driven a 200" Some people don't like the sound of an SR20 and they are usually skyline owners, and fair enough cause the rb's sound really nice.. but this is no reason to buy a car.
  20. SOLD
  21. Oh I should have made it clear. I'm not posting these anywhere.. can't be bothered. not worth it. and price is not $140. sorry.. for $140 you can buy second hand tyres from a tyre place which have about a 1/4 of the tread these have. ring around if you like.. $160 is the price for the pair. cheers. TT
  22. Hi. yes they will fit. it just means that they are slightly narrower (235mm compared to 215mm wide) and they will be more of a lower profile than your current tyres. yours are 235mm wide and the profile is 45% of the width. where as my ones here are 215mm wide and the profile is 40% of the width. make sense? these are performance tyres but I doubt that they are as good as some more known brands. hope that helps.
  23. well there should be load and resistance on the dyno. that's when they load it up once you're in 4th gear... Of course it will be different to road type load but still, it just seems to deliver the most power from like 100 - 120km's where it jumps like 120rwkw.. it's just that I can't see how this could be put to the ground through rwd only.. then from 120km/h to 160km/h it increases by 20rwkw only. is this normal? it just doesn't seem like it would be a smooth power delivery at all. almost like an ON/OFF switch
  24. I've had a skyline and don't want another. also, I am lookign at trading down to a run about.. thanks anyway.
