Pics From Recent Paint Job! <56k Users Beware>
TTT replied to Cubes's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
man that is dodgey as..!! I've done better jobs than that in my back yard with a budget spray gun and $200 air compressor.. Take it back and either demand it be redone completely or your money back.. -
well there you go. $60 new or $30 used for a few months.. it's not like it's a part that can be worn out or anything.. save yourself $30 anyone?
-
It was on my skyline with a SARD bov attached when I bought it. but it came off about a month later and has been sitting in a box on the shelf since then. $30 man...
-
here you go.. the very top one that says FG-ADA-R32
-
yes any bov will fit as long as the bov is a UNIVERSAL FITTING one.. so the base needs to just be a round shape that you can put a rubber or silicon hose over.. I'll see if I can get a pic of one on the net..
-
I have a after market little adapter for the RB engines. It's so that you can use an aftermarket universal mount bov. this adapter bolts on to the stock rb20/25 bov mount and then you connect your bov to the end of it via a piece of rubber hose.. $30 in sydney.

$250 Sydney only. selling due to new phone on new plan. Comes with books and charger. Can get faces for it if you like. PHONE DETAILS and PICS

what if I run the VR4 and carry 2 pistons on the passenger seat?
-
yes.. the people at work.. but I think that they are just trying to get rid of me.
-
No. at $500 odd retail, why waste your money. the purpose of that bov is so that you have it on full plumback when on street and then atmo when on the track for the full sick effect. HOWEVER, if you have it on your car and set to plumback on the street and the cop checks it over and sees this big ass bov with a trumpet hanging off the side, he will defect you even if it is not set to atmo or half half.. do you have a stock bov? YES are you running more than 18psi? - probably not then don't worry about it.. use that $500 to buy a set of whiteline anti-sway bars... at least they AID performance..

a plumb back bov will make hardly any noise... it will simply be a slight whoosh noise. if you buy an aftermarket plumback like say from GFB, it will make less noise than the stock skyline plumback bov. Benefit = skylines have an air flow meter. this measures the amount of air being passed through it and tells the ECU to supply enough fuel for the mixture. when you change gears, the plumback bov dumps this air back in to the air inlet so it is still in the system. with an atmo venting bov, the air gets out of the system via the bov but the ecu still supplies the fuel for the air that was measured as it went past the air flow meter. so this causes temporary over fueling or running rich. due to this overfueling a couple of things can/do happen. 1.) backfire on gear change or when you back off the throttle to slow down. 2.) black puff of smoke from exhaust when you get back on the gas after changing gears. 3.) stalling when coming to a stop at lights or intersections. 4.) sometimes car feels sluggish due to rich mistures. 5.) spark plugs foul up quicker. 6.) extra black shit on your rear bumper from the rich fumes out of the exhaust. with a plumback bov, none of the above issues arrise.. does that answer your question?
-
what is the gap on your spark plugs? 0.8mm seems to fix 95% of these problems of RB25's misfiring on 10psi at about 5000rpm.

don't lie.. we both know I invented the wheel.. not you.. I guess it's like when you're younger and your parents say, don't do this or this will happen or study hard and get your edumacation done so you have more opportunities in the future.. and kids always have to try those things that there parents told them not to do and then go .. oh yeah.. they were right.. oh well. I thought that when it comes to spending money, people might actually listen instead of wasting there money... but.. live and learn I guess... who was it above.. spent $600 on an ARC bov... $600 for a bov?? it is a damn piston, spring and casing... with an adjustment screw on top.. you could make on in metal work class in year 10 if you wanted to.. or you could just realise that you can use the stock one with no problem until way over 200rwkw.. bah!! in the end, people are just STUPID. On that note.. I have an APEXI TWIN CHAMBER bov for sale.. as used in the fast and furious.. on that supra in the first movie.. it's fully sick and twice as good as any other bov due to it having twice the number of CHAMBERS.. AND, it's shiny, giving it the ability to make all sorts of noises.. AND, it has a different adjuster which you can turn to make it make different noises.. REALLY.. $250 - special offer for all you mechanics. and if you really want to believe it, the secondary chambers piston flaps around and dances to make all sorts of wonderful noises..
-
How true is your first remark.. and look at some of the other replies to this post.. people still believe that a bov is going to make that sound.. I don't know why I bother giving decent replies sometimes..
-
have you noticed how sequential or twin chamber bovs have 2 vacuum lines? this is to open the 2 pistons. these are designed that way to have less chance of leakage under severe boost applications. that is the only reason for sequential or twin chamber bovs. it does not make any sort of sequential noise. a bov that is working properly should make a single release sound and nothing else. sure the volume and pitch may vary (comparing a turbo smart to a HKS SSQV's high pitched squeek noise), but it should only make a single release sound.. not multiple chu chu chu or other chopping sounds.. if you are hearing ANY noise from the air filter on a car with an ATMO venting bov, then the bov is not doing it's job properly. any sort of fluttering or chopping sound is from the turbo chopping the air and can be heard from the air filter.. the flutter noise can also be different from car to car depending on a number of things.. size of turbo, the material used for the inlet pipe, the intercooler, the type of material used for cooler pipes, the length of these pipes... ever hear a skyline with a stock cooler and blocked bov and pod... it is like a trrrrrr sound.. then same car with a new FMIC and larger and longer cooler pipes, the sound is completely different.. reason is that the pipes are of larger capacity and the air is forced out with less pressure and the fluttering sound is changed to a more deeper and slower flutter.. I hope this makes sense..
-
no bov makes that sound.. sequential bovs don't make a chu chu sound. the only way to get that sound is with a bov that is too tight and not opening or with no bov. It's so funny how many mis-informed people there are around..
