  1. I've never had any issues.. Just a question for all those who are saying that they have a hard to turn steering... have you checked the power steering fluid recently? Have you changed it at all? As for the drift pineapples... they do not do anything for the HICAS. I believe that they are simply for stopping axle tramp, and allowing you to set your car to drift a bit more stable. The only way to disable HICAS on our R32's is to get a proper lock kit. You can't just disconnect the computer cause that means that the rear is then able to turn 1.5 degrees in any direction the road drags it.. NOW THAT would be scary. When your HICAS is working properly, it only works when you are traveling above 80kms. And it ONLY works to turn the rear wheels in the SAME direction as the front to make lane changing on the highways, a smoother process. So this thing about your mechanic telling you that it turns opposite at low speeds and same at high speeds is false.
  2. In the famous wrods of GUIDO HATZIS... "There is nothing that duct tape can not fix" I used electrical tape when I had my external venting bov on. Just tape over it a couple of times and it's fine.
  3. nice... did you go back to the workshop to complain or anything. yeh the Gtir turbo's don't have ceramic exhaust wheels so no problem with running over 14psi.. but like you said, above that and it starts to get out of it's efficiency range... especially with the top mount interheater that they have.
  4. Do'h. How did you manage that?
  5. I'll give you what I know. The R33 (and R32 for that matter) has a turbo which has a bolt pattern of a T3. So it will NOT bolt on to a car that had a T28. The internals are of a similar size to a T28 though. All I know about the sizes is that the exhaust wheel is 48mm for the R33 and 42mm for the R32. But ALL skylines GTST from R32 onwards, have a T3 bolt pattern. Not sure about the R31's and earlier.. The GTR's have twin T28 turbos. the bolt patter is a T28. However, they are only good for twin turbo set ups. The T28's on the GTR's do not work that good in a single turbo application. WRXKILLA... Just incase you didn't know.. the skyline turbos have ceramic exhaust wheels.. so I doubt that they would be an upgrade for your GTiR even if it did fit.
  6. wouldn't it take less time/money/effort to just sell the bov and get a GFB Hybrid Bov which plums some air back and vents the rest out so that you still have a psshht sound and the AFM still functions properly.
  7. well I've got 3 and one broken one so I only need the one. let me know.. if you get desperate.
  8. I only need 1. I'll give you $40 for it. With or without a tyre. I'll pick up. Let me know.

  15. what's that saying.. "KW sells cars, TORQUE wins races." what is the torque difference between a GTST and a GTR?
  16. I spoke to my mechanic about this and he is a good friend of mine since I've been going to him for close to 3 years and so has the rest of my family so I know that he isn't bullshiting me.. here is what he said.. The normal spark plugs that you can get from NGK or Champion with the normal copper tips will FLOW (if that's the word to use here) more electricity than the platinum and iridium ones. He showed me some stats from tests that were done at some industry show that he attended. The only good thing about the platinum or iridium plugs is that you don't need to change them for something like 50,000 kms or more. The standard copper plugs are supposed to be good for 20,000kms. And if you're car runs rich (lets face it, most skylines do) then you are going to have to change any plugs you have more frequently. Don't know about you guys but I am not about to spend a shit load on spark plugs that are simply going to last Longer. I'd rather change them every 20,000kms and have brand new ones in there more frequently, that also FLOW better. Also, he recommends that cleaning them to get more life out of them is a waste of time.
  17. TTT

    Air

they cost about round about $200 at wreckers - give or take $20 that is for a exact replacement from an RB20DET.

  19. they're just pics of the cars man.. just walk past the newsagent and stop in and have a look at the last 2 or 3 pages..
  20. Don't know if I should say well done or DO'H!!! Few other skylines there aswell..(RU3L8R - R33 series 2 - Silver), (OOW-00H - Blue R32 GTR) Looks like from a cruise to somewhere.. It is in the last 2 pages of the MARCH 2003 Issue of Hot 4's.
  21. I did mine about a month ago (as in took them out and cleaned them) but then about 3 weeks after, they started playing up again. So I just replaced them with Champion GOLD plugs. All I can recommend is to be carefull when pulling the electrical plug off the back of each coil. the clip you have to press down to unclip it is very VERY FRAGILE and will break. I broke 2 while being extra careful. It will work fine with out the little clipping bit but it is still nicer to have it intact. The clips get that way because of the heat that is in there.
  22. The turbo sqeel could be a leak. I have seen some turbo's missing a bolt or something on the exhaust flange and air escaping from there at high revs. Also, the cut out thing that you are talking about.. A lot of R33 owners experience that. I think that it has to do with not enough spark or something. Do a search on these forums for "Misfire" or "flat spot in high revs" or somehting like that. It's been discussed many times.
  23. if you want to see the pics of the latest HKS SSQV go to the following site.. http://www.alltrac.net/tuning/blowoffvalve.html you can see the current HKS bov there.. you can also hear what they sound like..
  24. dude.. where is the water temp gauge..?? I haven't received anything yet.. Have you sent it?
