  1. Just wanted to clarify one thing. NOT all cars come with BOVs. Mitsubishi Cordia Holden Commodore VL turbo just to name 2, never came with standard BOVs. There are others but I just can't remember at the moment.
  2. Can the spring be replaced on a standard BOV? (to be specific, the standard R32 GTST BOV)
  3. Here is the quote from the extract.. I guess it could be read it 2 different ways. "Next up was a custom nitrous installation. This new system--comprised of three carbon fiber bottles, electric bottle openers and an intercooler spray bar--from Nitrous Express " I read that as a intercooler spray bar that was constructed by the Nitrous Express crew. But I guess it would be used to spray Nitrous on to the cooler as well. Oh well.. Here is the full story.. FAFT2 lead car story..
  4. no.. It's a water spray bar. I read the whole review somewhere before. I'll try to find the link for you so you can have a quick read..
  5. No.. I don't think I will spend money on a bonnet when I don't need one. I would like to know the best way to go about modifying the original one.
  6. of course!!!
  7. It's not a rumour. It is the lead car for Fast and the Furious 2. That's not a neon light on the front. It is a water spray bar. There are no gay neons on this car. :uh-huh:
  8. Hi mate.. This is from performance forums.. These guys have sold so many of their coolers to 180SX owners that they now have a kit including pipes and all. Every single person that has got one from them has been extremely happy. It's a pretty long post but it's pretty good cause they have pics and prices and contact details and so on.. Link is below.. 180SX intercoolers Happy reading..
  9. me too... me too.. I want to do that to my bonnet to. some pics and where it was done would be great. EMAIL HERE
  10. When I bought my intercooler, the end tanks were sprayed with that fantastic chrome in a can.. **shaking my head** I told my mechanic and he recommended the following.. (he also does re-sprays and so on and has paint and preperation experience..) get a really fine sand paper (1000 or 2000 grade) Get some oil.. (even cooking oil is fine - or motor oil) dab your finger in the oil, and just spread it around a little over the area that you are going to sand.. Get a little bit of oil on the surface of the sand paper.. When you start sanding the area, it will start to turn grey then black. Feel it with your finger.. if it is smooth, wipe it clean with a rag. Then get some autosol (it's a metal polish... comes in a small tube - like tooth paste) It has instructions on the back of the tube on how to use this product.. A little bit of work will produce a mirror like finish.. Basically, you put some autosol on the surface and start rubing it in to the surface with a cloth. it will go grey, dark grey, black.. then turn the cloth over to a clean side and keep buffing it in.. it will lighten up then come up chrome eventually. NOTE.. you will get sore hands and arms from the polishing but it is worth it..
  11. Sent you a PM.
  12. Yep. I saw the muffler on the weekend. All it needs is a good clean.. Nothing some autosol couldn't fix.. I think that with a little polish, it would look new. It doesn't have any scratches or dents. It is stainless steel, the inlet to the muffler is a nice 3 inch pipe, the tip is a 4 inch. The muffler has nice welding too. Very neat. The actuall muffler itself is kind of an oval shape (not like a round cannon muffler) The internals of the muffler.... It has dual straight piping in the muffler. Can't tell the size of the pipes.. probably just under 2 inches.. so basically.. 3inch in, dual pipes internal (each pipe is slightly smaller than 2 inch), 4 inch tip. As for why I didn't buy it??? I am looking for a cannon type muffler... This would look excellent under many cars.. but in my eyes, would suit the R33 the best. Very nice and chunky..
  13. Thanks for your help Joel.
  14. WEST Where? suburb. Do you have a contact number? I just sent you a Private message with my contact details..
  15. where abouts do you live? If you are close by I'd like to see it.
  16. What size is the inlet? is it stainless steel? is it mild steel? what brand if any? what car is it on? can you find one that it is similar to that we would all know? I am interested in this so please let me know. I am in ashfield in sydney.
  17. I bought a box full of bits and peices and there is an R33 rail with standard injectors in the pack. I wanted to know if they can be used, and obviously they can't on the R32 (not easily anyway) So I will sell them off later and want to know what sort of price I should ask..
  18. Yep.. just found that out from the site that Meggala provided. does anyone know the cost of the RB25DET injectors? Standard ones I mean.
  19. BOV thread yet again. Lets make it simple. If NISSAN decided that this car needed a BOV as standard then I guess that they would have done some reserach to back this up. They would not have placed a BOV on your car if they didn't think that it needed it. The standard BOV is fine unless it leaks. My standard one on the R32 GTST does leak and therfore I have an aftermarket one that vents to atmosphere. The crap thing about this BOV is that all the mixtures are wrong and the car feels like it will stall when coming to a halt. But I have run the car with the standard BOV and the SARD one and with the SARD, boost comes on much quicker and stronger and holds better as the revs go up. If you don't experience any (or very little) boost loss as the revs build up, then I wouldn't bother changing the standard BOV. Also, I hear a lot of people that are installing aftermarket BOVs but also keeping the standard one on there and still in use.. This will be crap. Unless you have put the new ATMO valve before the standard one, it won't even open cause the original valve is doing the job. You can buy after market BOV's that are plumback. GFB (Go Fast Bits) and Turbo smart both make plumback ones.. These will be better than the stock on if you are running more than 15psi.. As for not needing a BOV unless you are boosting more than 12 psi or whatever, I would rather follow in the foot steps of the company that made my car (NISSAN) and have a BOV of some sort. I hope this helps.
  20. Can anyone shed some light on this subject for me? What differences are there between the injectors found on the RB20DET when compared the ones on the RB25DET? Can the RB25DET injectors be used on the RB20DET? Are they any better? What are the RB25DET injectors worth? If they can be used, are they a worthy upgrade? Will it require ECU modifications to use them on a RB20DET? Thanks in advance.
  21. Hi guys. My friend is after an import that he can purchase. There are some cars that come to AUS and can be used for rally or race only. That is what he is after.. Can anyone recommend any web sites or name a few places or people for me? It "DOES NOT" need to be registered or complianced. In SYDNEY please..
  22. There are different versions of T3's Take the T3 from a VL turbo commodore for instance.. It can support more power than the T3 stuck to the RB20DET. Or the T3 from the Ford Sierra's... T3 only refers to the turbo housing.. it could have different blades on the inlet and exhaust side to produce more power. So getting a T3 from a different car and having it on the RB25DET COULD be worth while. Like alot of people do the upgrade of getting the T3 off the nissan VG30DET (old 300zx with the single turbo) and puting it on the RB20DET cause THAT T3 flows much better than the T3 on the Stock RB20DET.
  23. DOCTOR is correct. The skyline turbo's (SKYLINE GTST anyway.. not the GTR) is a T3. As for the wheels inside the turbo. R32 GTST = T3, Steel blades on inlet, Ceramic blades on exhaust R33 GTST series 1 = T3, Steel blades on inlet, Ceramic blades on exhaust. R33 GTST series 2 = T3, Plastic blades on inlet, Ceramic blades on exhaust. GTR's use 2 T28's.. don't know about the specs of the blades of the turbo. Even though the R32 and R33 uses a T3 turbo housing the specs of the blades and the AR is different. You can usually make more power out of the T3 from the R33 engines.. Also, a lot of people don't like the idea of having a plastic wheel on the inlet side of the turbo as it is on the series 2 R33's. The intercooler on the R33 is pretty useless if you start modifying. I would say that once you do exhaust and filter on the R33's (or R32's for that matter), the intercooler is going to be on it's limit. And in Summer you are going to suffer a bit. Did I miss anything?
  24. Thanks anyway, but I was able to get a nice front mount for my baby... see pic below.
  25. ... you know what I'm talking about..
