Q.? Difference between R32 GTS-T & Type M
TTT replied to 46n2's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Not all have HICAS. HICAS was an option when they were new. They were an option on the Type -M and the normal GTST.. but HICAS is not standard unless it was asked for when new. -
I am looking for a 3 inch system for my R32 GTST. Not sure what brand. Don't really care. Must be 3 inch. Must be mandrel bends. Must have Stainless steel Muffler. Don't care if the pipe work itself is Stainless or Mild steel. I only need a cat back system. If anyone can help me out, please say so. Not after a new system. Second hand will be fine. "NOT" looking at spending anywhere near $1000.

Ashbury is towards the Canterbury station. If you go down fredrick street, towards Canterbury station, you go past the race course.. my house is just before that. It's like 5 minutes from ashfield mall.

What a spin out.. 3 skyliners just minutes away..

Anyone know what I would be looking at paying for a turbo off a RB25? Hey JiMbO.. You live in Ashfiled.. (going by your profile..) I live in Ashbury... How r ya neighbour... hahahahaha
-
Thanks Meggala.. Helpful as always..
-
Will a RB25 turbo bolt on to the standard RB20 housing? will the bolts and so on line up? Will there be any need for ECU changes? when you say boost comes on earlier, which one are you talking about?
-
Is there any difference between teh turbo that is on the RB20 compared to the turbo on the RB25? Is it identical? is one bigger or better in anyway?
-
Dude.. One thing that I am quite sure of is that the R32 GTST NEVER came out standard with a RB25DET. The very late ones did come with an RB25DE but never the non turbo. So it is not a standard car in that sense. As for what the RB25DET has over the RB20DET... RB20DET 157KW 263NM (I think..) RB25DET 187KW 297NM (I think..)
-
I get ya. That makes sense then.. Cool. Thanks for your help guys..

here is a little bit of text from an article on te R32 GTST from AUTOSPEED... 158kW at 6200 rpm and a peak torque figure of 263Nm available at a useable 3200 rpm and for a 180SX with SR20DET (on 100 octane fuel)... ...max power is 150kW (at 6000 rpm) and max torque is 275Nm (at 4000 rpm) But I believe your original THREAD says SR20DET vs RB25DET not RB20DET.. so for the RB25DET... AUTOSPEED story tells me... ...187kW (at 6400 rpm) and 294Nm (at 4800 rpm). So YES, the RB25 has more torque than the SR20DET All the info above is for stock engine quotes from the factory.. I hope this helps.. If you want to check the AUTOSPEED site, it's pretty good. Autospeed Go to the bottom and search for what you want.. TT

On my car..(92 Skyline R32 GTST) The stock boost gauge in the dash shows... +7 0 -7 I've also got an Autometer boost gauge in the car.. MY question and concern is as follows.. Question. Where does the Standard boost gauge get it's reading from? Concern. On full throttle in say 2nd gear at about 5500rpm the autometer gauge shows that I am hitting about 10.5 - 11psi boost. The stockie gauge doesn't even reach the +7.. WTF?? Which one is right? I'm not sure where the autometer gauge is connected (haven't had the car for that long and haven't spent time looking around). The only engine mods are BOV and K&N pod filter.. Exhaust is standard. has anyone else noticed this in there skylines?

Follow up to what EDS33T has said.. Here is a pic so you can see where it is located... I have got a big arrow pointing at it..
-
APS whole system Front pipe is at the very bottom right hand corner of the pic..
-
Dump pipe made by APS (Air Power Systems - in Melbourne I think.. can't remember..)
-
Front pipe, cat and back pipes.... The front pipe in this pic is the part closest to the bottom of this pic..
-
Birty.. Here are some pics to help you out... these are off a S15 Silvia but you get the idea.. Dump pipe.. This is the very first part of the exhaust. It is bolted directly to the turbo.. Front pipe.. Connects to the end of the dump pipe and the other end to the CAT. Back pipes.. you already know.. Here are the pics.. Dump pipe pic off the S15

1986 model. 178,000 kms RED 88kw 4A-GE engine (blue/black writing on rocker cover) stock standard. air con power steering No mods. No stereo. Has 6x9s but no deck. Regularly serviced and currently has Bendix pads. Standard rims and tyres. 8 months rego ( I think,.... something like that) In sydney. (Ashfield area) The car runs fine. No problems with engine. Does not blow smoke or anything like that. Always been reliable. Interior is excellent. The seats have always been under seat covers and therefore are in excellent condition. The body is pretty good. Occasional little bump or scratch can be found, but it is a 16 year old car and for $2000 it's acceptable. The paint is original and some parts are staring to fade, but can be fixed by a quality polish and buffer. Please email me if you are interested, or just reply on here. Email is easier and I will see it straight away when I am at work.

yes mate still have it. I am replacing the battery and power steering belt probably tomorrow. The belt went yesterday and my bright young brother left the lights on.. as I said, it's a pretty good car for that kinda money. Engine does not blow smoke and works fine. The seats are really clean cause they have always had some ugly seat covers so the original material is in good nic. Body is mainly straight except for the occasional parking bump or scratch. The paint is the original 16 byear old paint and is fading in some areas but if you can be bothered to buff it out, it would be cool.

Dude I've got a 86 Corolla Seca. red twin cam 4A-GE 178000kms about 10 months rego Highly modified with... Air freshner tree on mirror. weight reduction with removal of crappy radio. I'll get rid of it for $2K. Works fine, but no longer need it.

MEGGALA - thanks. I'm currently seeing about 10-psi in cold weather with just the pod filter as the mod. Standard cooler and exhaust. BOOSTMEISTER 500 wide by 220 tall by 75 thick?? It looked heaps taller than 220 by those pics. Dude, where are you located? did you supply and fit that cooler to your friends car? or did he supply it and you just fitted it for him?
-
BOOSTMEISTER That looks pretty good mate. Bit too large for me. I'd rather have the cooler a little smaller and be abel to get some fresh air to the radiator. BY BY No mate I don't live there.. No where near it actually.
