    If you want upper back strength, rack pulls (or deadlift from boxes where the barbell is above knee height to begin with) and farmers walks are great exercises.
  2. you have probably dropped a chunk of water weight by not taking a bunch of sups that I saw you list earlier. Why not try just lifting some weights but not taking any supps. eat the same as you are too. How you "look" is mainly from what you eat. How strong you are is mainly from lifting.

    I doubt the weight is too heavy being an empty bar. I reckon you're probably "sitting back" like you would in a back squat. This pic is exaggerated but you can see how far forward the knees are to keep the upper body upright.

    and what happens? tip forward? fall back? can't get depth? Front squats generally require much more knees forward position when at the bottom.

    I use hands under too (Clean grip) but I only really have 2 fingers under there (index finger and middle finger). Easier on my elbows/forearms and allows me to get my elbows higher. Just don't choke yourself out.

    Try a broom stick to get the movement right. How were you holding the bar? Like this? or like this? Cross arm is a weaker position if you have a weak upper back.

    Sorry I didn't know you had an injury. Why couldn't you squat just the bar? too heavy or injury related? mobility?

    If you are tipping forward when coming up, it means that your hip/rear is already rising faster than you can handle. you either lack upper back strength or need to practice squatting more upright. Front squats are good for this.
  9. Yeah he has a lot to do with them. He won't let any random open a gym with his brand on it. He franchises it out to people he knows and trusts. There is also a PTC opening overseas.. first international one. I think there are 4 new ones in the first half of this year.

    If I may suggest one thing... do NOT follow his advise on pushing the elbows "UP" This will f**k your elbows and forearms and will either take AAAAAAGES to get better or never 100% better. You also use alot less quad muscle doing it his way as it's all about hip drive etc so don't be suprised if your quads look a little shit while your arse grown. I reckon add high bar or front squats to keep things growing well. Don't end up doing good mornings while squatting... this becomes very common using Rips "sit back, drive hips up" style teachings. LOL... f**k.. read your posts as "now" squatting as per rip.... instead of "not" this post is now useless. lol

  12. The Cube Method is used by people who are fairly advanced. Seriously doubt anyone here needs anything more than some basic progressive program.

  14. Yep. But not for long enough the last time I gave it a go. Doing it again now for bench and OHP, Only at week 2. It's great for some and not so much for others. Give it a go and judge for yourself.
  15. Dan - have you had a spinal xray? It's probably just not straight. Mine is like a slight S bend. My right shoulder hangs lower, further down my right hip is a little higher, making my right leg 5ml shorter. You can't tell unless you really pay attention. You can't do anything about it. Apart from maybe run for local member of parliament.

I hope it was a one off but if your hips are rising that much each time before the weight comes off the floor then you are on your way to injury town soon. Forget that you had a brain fart midway through the lift... you basically lifted your arse right up, then you invented the first ever sumo stiff legged deadlift with a pause halfway up
