  6. what turbo is on there now?
  7. you could look in to GTS4 diff gears. they are 4.44:1. the standard R32 GTST dif gears are 4.3:1 meaning that the shorter gears from the GTS4 will help with acceleration.

SHIFTYTYS - probably under $20 for postage. So I'll make it $150 but I'll pay the postage. Mystery kid - thanks for your input
  9. Define "come on at 5500rpm" you mean you see positive boost at that rpm? or you see the boost gauge at what psi at 5500rpm? what is your max boost set at? Also, what mods? what ecu?
  10. LS2 is a great engine no doubting it. but it is pulling 1700kg + 1290kg RB20... you have a 400kg advantage. I don't understand how lag plays a roll in a drag race. you launch at revs (so on boost on close) and once you are up in the 7000rpm + region, each shift brings you in to the sweet spot of boost and torque. have a chat to ROY if he doesn't chime in here.. his car power ranges from 240 - 260rwkw depending on his tune at the time. he's more in a circuit racing, but he may be able to give you some insight. also, when you say lag city, give us some idea. what is your 60 foot time? what revs do you leave the line at? does it bog down at launch? does it fry the wheels at launch? what turbo? at what revs in 1st gear do you feel the turbo really gets up and going? Roy mentioned that to get the best out of second gear he has to rev first up to over 8K (8200 or 8300 I seem to remember) then shift from 2nd to third near 8000rpm again. then from there he shifts around 7 or just over. cef11e - another guy who had 243rwkw on his RB20 using a SLIDE hiflow. he was seeing full boost (19psi) by 4300rpm. how does your compare.

  13. how much boost do you believe you will need to run on this hiflow turbo making 160rwkw at 11psi, to make over 250rwkw. thanks

Hamish - you might be about 1 hour late. I'm waiting for the funds to be transferred from some guy on NS.com. I'll let you know if it falls through.
  16. also, that line can even be plumbed in to the line that is on the back of the bov.. just need to buy a .20c "T" piece.
  17. LOL... if it's a skyline and it backfires, it must be afm/spark/leak/coil related. I wonder if other people actually read this part of his post.. the above = unlimited boost. Stock ECU R33 with unlimited boost = cough, splutter, backfire at about 11psi (well apart from **RB3530** - his one is a little special)
  18. mate take the option of the $1500 R33 GTR bottom end that the guy replied in this thread. add another $1K for your mechanic to do the job, you are out of pocket by $2.5K. not $5K for a wrecker motor. or $6K min from "that company name you mentioned before which I can get someone to tell you stories about"... If you plan to keep car, then while the motor is out, do some or all the oil mods that are very well documented in this forum (search for the words "SYDNEYKID+OIL+CONTROL" to find a little thread about it) depending on how many of them you do, the cost will be small or huge. If I were you I would.. buy said R33 GTR bottom end. while the engine is out, order some oil restrictors, put them in, fit the back of head drain, and the R33 bottom end has the better crank collar etc.. put it all back together and sell it. at least then you can say that you are selling a decent car which has had some of the oil control mods done and with receipts. with used cars, it's been said again and again. Buyer beware. The seller did what he had to do to sell his car. the price was too good to be true and always is. the fact is, once fixed like I said above, you still have a GTR that will be OK and has set you back a total of $15K max.

Yes for R33 and yes, after market 3 inch job..
  20. Since you are looking at spending some coin here, you should consider some facts outside the "pull chicks" theory. Now apart from looks (which is a personal choice), you should compare the 2 cars. R32. 89-91 models are 1290kg 160kw crap interior material. 92-94 models are 1320kg 160kw nicer interior material (latest model got even nicer - kinda like GTR seat material/pattern) R33. All GTST models got the same power 187kw All R33 gtst models weigh 1360kg (with the auto being 1390kg) 93-95 = series 1 and series 1.5 (which is pretty much a series 1 with some series 2 bits like rear wing, and in some cases, interior) 96-98 = series 2 (the pretty model) now. RB20 is lower compression, makes less power and less torque than the RB25. the R32 gtst has a weaker gearbox than an R33 the R32 GTST has smaller brakes than an R33 the 2 cars you can afford are the R32 or series 1 R33. you are looking at a weight difference of 40-70kg (r33 being heavier) for that extra weight, you get the bigger brakes. one of the toughest gearboxes around. and what I believe is a better diff ratio for cruising (r32 = 4.3:1, R33 = 4.1:1) rb25 is 9.0:1 compression, 500cc more capacity. this makes traffic driving ALOT nicer. ALOT!! as someone said, ideally, you would buy someone elses RB25 powered R32. I've had 2 R32's (one 2 door rwd and one 4 door 4wd) and currently a series 1 R33 GTST. which I am selling... but only because I get bored of cars quickly. keep the facts in mind before making your decision. if I was to buy another budget skyline??? I'd get an R32 GTST. just because I like the way I feel in it.
  21. $380 2 x battery 1GB memory card standard kit lens (18-55mm) Looks like this. front back side comes with CD and charger and usb cable and some documentation The intraweb tells me that this is the first Digital SLR released by Canon back in 2003. it is a 6.3MP camera. rest of the info and pics can be found on google. YES - it is not a fancy new thing. but it might be a good cheap option for someone looking to play around with a digitla SLR without forking out close to $1K
