Would there be much of a gain changing a 3 inch dump pipe to a split pipe if you already have the hi flow 3inch cat?
-
Already have, i am getting bad spiking from my boost controller causing massive amounts of knock. The spiking did not show up on the dyno cause they start the acceleration before the turbo has spooled up giving the bleed valve more time to adjust to the pressure changes. The spiking is only happeneing when i put my foot down when the turbo is spooled up, so anywhere above 3000rpm. I have dropped it back to 10 for now. sure can notice the drop in power. Knock is good now, cant make it go over 25, before i had a spike of 127 on the knock scale. Very bad i think.

CRD pointed out the boost drop off and believe the wastegate spring may be worn and leaking pressure a bit. Not too concerned about this atm. I just have the 3 inch dump pipe from flyn, not the split dump with seperate exhaust for the wastegate. Drives very well, in second gear giving it a bootfull from just putting along it will break traction anywhere from 60 to 80kph easily now, although off boost there is no difference (that i can notice). To be honest i was expecting a bit of a power gain while just under normal acceleration. Anyone know if you should get power gains under light load? I will see how economy goes in a few weeks, at the moment i am enjoying the acceleration too much.

I was not given the AFR chart, I should call them, do u think they will have them saved in a database? I may drop the boost back to 11-12psi just to be safe. I also had compression test done all cylinders were 165-170psi. not too bad at all.

Yeah man, check my details to the side

Had my PFC tuned yesterday by CRD in Sydney and am very happy with the job they did and the end results. made 194RWKW. My current mods are, Pod filter Full 3 inch exhaust and hi flow cat boost set to about 13psi Hybrid FMIC Ex cam gear PFC Now, what to do to break 200 mark???

is it changing gears?

Anyone ???

Dose anyone know a good place in Australia to buy the PFC boost kit. can only find it online from nengun and greenline. Just wanting to compare prices with a store located in australia.

Just wondering why this hose is t'ed into my boost controller. It is tapped off a hose that is about 1 inch in diameter that runs off the intake pipe between the AFM and turbo. The hose that is 1 inch in diameter runs all the way up to the pressure relief valve near the intake manifold. the hose in question is circled in yellow. the blue one goes to the wastegate and the red hose runs up to the intake manifold. I am wondering about this cause i would expect this hose being hooked up to interfere with the pressure that the wastegate is seeing and hence may be causing boost spiking or turbo lag etc.. Damo

Hey i think it adds to the art effect. or maybe just a few too many beers.

This one is at universal studios in LA.

the hose i have circled in blue is the hose that should go to your wastegate and be providing the 7 psi steady boost. The boost solenoid has been bypassed so you dont have the 2 stage boost. If it is hooked up you will be limited to 5psi below 5000 rpm then only above this you will get 7. Where is the hose going that is hooked up to it? can you provide a better picture.

i am not to sure about RWKW gains but the difference is like driving in 25deg celcius to 5 deg with the standard intercooler. So basically the last few days have been 25deg here and the car is going as hard as it would after a late shift in the middle of winter. i think maybe 10 to 15rwkw. Plus i have upped the boost from 10 to 12 psi now with the standard turbo.

Just wondering if the PFC with the hand held commander can give you data on all the engine sensors just like the standard ECU and the consult data thing.

I bought the hybrid kit off FLYN last week and had no problems with pipes lining up. Could not be happier with the performance difference either. I would recommend the kit to anyone for that price.

Install went well, i recommend getting all the power tools you need first. I used and angle grinder for the front reinforcment bar and drill for the 76mm hole to allow the pipe to go through the chassy. The most fiddly part was the removal and installation of the front bar. Doing this by youself is a bitch. It took me a solid day to complete. Worth it in the end, can really notice the difference even though its been very warm the last 2 days in sydney.

Chicks and maintenance on a vehicle makes me laugh. Reminds me of a mates girlfriend who cleaned his motorbike and put tyre shine on the wheels, not just the sides but the whole tyre. First corner he came to he washed out sideways. She will never live that down.

Try this, http://www.hybrid-power.com/installation_/GTS/GTS kit.pdf Good luck, i just did mine on the weekend.

Fixed the problem, just had to readjust the boost controler. Tapping into another line with a much longer hose must throw out the calibration of it. I agree with you ICER33 about drilling into the new piping, makes it much neater. Will have to do this. Can you give a more detailed DIY guide. like was any sealant required and how did you screw the nipple into it? Cheers

(r32gtr) No Boost, And Vacume Cleaner Noise.
Damo replied to GTR_NUTZ's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Do you get any vacume indication on your boost gauge??? -
yeah this was my next option. only its a different size hose that is tapped off the plenum, its much smaller than the hose that goes to the wastegate. I was not sure of this would make a difference. Will give it a try, though i might have to buy more hose.
-
yeah i used the hose in the kit to t it in. wierd that it works on yours but not mine. might take out the boost controler 2moro and c how that goes. anyone else got another sugestion on where to tap into???

Just installed a GT spec hybrid FMIC today and took it for a test drive and noticed the boost hit 15psi before i backed off the gas. I have it set for 10. Just wondering if i have T'ed the line that goes to the wastegate actuator in the wrong spot. At the moment it is T'ed into the line that goes from the standard BOV back to the intake manifold. The hose is no greater than 1cm in diameter and only about 1ft long. I put it here cause of what i read on another forum, starting to think its wrong. Here is the pic from the thread where it said to t into
