  1. as for wheelspin it sorta felt like 1st gear didnt get me anywhere i could be wrong but it felt like it topped out really quickly like it was wheelspining, i think thats part of the problem the back wheels are already 2 or 3 fingerwidths inside the guards so when i go to pull away i dont think it can bog down because of the stiffness on the bum????? also i didnt let any of my tyre pressures down which could of helped me i suppose.
  2. Hey guys run my car down the 1/4 last week for the first time wasnt very happy with the result came out with a best time of 14.8 which to me seem pathetic to my mods, correst me if im wrong! my car is making around 180rkw mods are adjustable boost set 12psi walbro pump/adjus reg foward facing intake fmic adjustable suspension similar to teins quite stiff goodyear f1 tyres with good tread manual with standard clutch- clutch not in the best cond but dont think it slipped To bare in mind also the whole boot is taken up by sounds which could weigh a bit but not enough to make my 1/4 this crap surely? There were alot of other skylines and cefiros with less mods than my car and way craper tyres pulling alot better times than me but the one thing i noticed is their cars seem to squat down and launch but mine just sorta wanted to sit on the spot then slowly move foward if you get me. ANY help or ideas would be much appreciated, id like to atleast crack the 13's!
  3. yea talked to a auto sparkie he said try someone elses bov just incase theres a leak in that and have and its fine so im booking it in with abit of luck shouldnt be too much of a majour cheers for your help so far.
  4. opened afm, all looked perfect with the soldering, cleaned it and put it back, also reset the ecu, no luck. where should I go from here should I still try another afm?
  5. Um no it didnt have a nipple(if its the one im thinking about-the one that runs parallel with the fuel rail and has a nipple right at the back??) it does not have that but from what I can remember it was not really nessary and the coolant running through there would have heated up the manifold more. I just run a pipe underneath & connected it up. I also left the coolant pipes off the t/b aswell. Um I made the i/c pipe quite tight so it goes straight down the standard washer will not fit you could use a smaller 1 off another car, I chose to make 1 out of perspex with a swinging lid so I can fill it with ice it & put another washer motor in for i/c sprayer.
  6. hey man i think while i was doing it i took some on a disposible cam so ill get them developed and take a pik with my digi cam and post them up if they are clear ill also take of pik of my e/bay now so you can see all the clutter gone.
  7. I have one of these on my car was a bit pissed off when I got it the casting was a bit rough but was all structually sound took it to the performace shop down the road they said it was the same as the greddy 1 and myte as well use it, sanded it up and put a etch primer then a high build primer on painted it black with a red pearl looks the part now. anyway back to problems or issues, your standard throttle body will not fit as its designed for the q45 but allgud i was told my standard t/b will be good for 300kw so got a mate to make up an adapter plate for it which was allgud but quite a mission because the holes were so close to oneanother. The plenum did not come with any nipples or bolts so had to source them which was actually soorta costly. supprisingly my throttle cabel juuuust reached am prepared to replacve tho haha. if you do decide to use a q45 fuse box will need relocating, but in my case i had to remove the washer bottle. 1 up is the i/c piping on that side is soooo short. one more thing was you can fit the standard fuel rail on but with the cast be aware that it may need grinding flush as it may not bolt down entirely 100% causing a vacuum leak around the injectors. Now what every1 is wanting to hear, car went abit harder indeed my car was only on standard boost then and the response in my oponion is ALOT better, till my car has something wrong with it now haha, not anything to do with the manifold tho haha-hopefully. It does clear up ALOT of the crap in the engine bay pipes etc and made it look alot more impressive im happy with it so far.
  8. hey man i have cleaned it. it misses when you have driven for awhile and then pull into a servo and turn off and fill up then start it again and drive off it runs like a absolute pig getting worse and worse. should I pull out a spark plug and check if its fouled up or would this not be the problem, plugs are gapped to 8mm.
  9. yea tryed that didnt work unfortunatly.
  10. ok guys have checked ecu diagnostic comes up with code 55-meaning everything ok, so whats my next step from here im running out of ideas. what are the usual causes for idle hunting is it a vucum leak or wat???
  11. sorry for being annoying but is it normal for a ticking noise to come from near the fuel rail?
  12. The battery isnt in the best nick but to make sure I have hooked up another battery with jumpers just incase that was the problem. as for the fuel pump it is virtually new and a new reg was put on as well as alot of hoses when the new intake was put on, the car ran immaculate then has slowly gotten worse and worse over a few drives. I have 1 question what does dry soldering in the afm mean and when the afm is out how do you remove the plastic lid type thing off it..if you have to? Also considering i have tryed all these things what are the chances that it will be able to be identifyed on diagnostic? just incase anyone asks i have also cleaned the aac valve out. Thanks for your help so far guys hopefully all our ideas can come togather 2 fix this annoying nightmare!
  13. Hi guys can someone please help me because i am stumped on what to do. heres the deal, my car runs ok when you start it up and its cold then when it warms up and your in traffic it begins to idle hunt and hunts so bad that it stalls itself quite quickly. also when cold it seems to have a miss and judders like bad fuel (but not bad fuel) then you rev it out and it goes away 4 awhile until you are in traffic then it sorta almost like the plugs foul up and wen you drive it misses and jolts and when you stop idle hunts etc. The car has a greddy intake plenum, big front mount intercooler walbro fuelpump boost controller pod and maybe some other things ive forgotten. I have bort a can of electric cleaner & cleaned the airflow meter out and had the car running and unplugged the coils and cant seem to notice much difference. also I have sprayed brakeclean along the manifold and on most hoses doesnt make any difference which sorta steers it away from a vacuum leak. Please someone give me some ideas on what I can do now! Any help will be much appreciated.
