What Mods And How Much For 450rwhp In A 260rs?
260tech replied to 260rsstagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hi there, don't suppose you would have the specs/part no's for the radiator upgrade & N1 group A's by any chance. I have been toying with the idea of spending some $$$$$ myself in the direction you mentioned above. Why you wanna sell it now you got the beast going btw? Cheers GW -
Hi Gary, I have not seen anything pop up my end regarding credit but that is not to say it has not been done. My record keeping is all outgoing, incoming is rare so I guess I was looking more for a headsup on where to look than anything. Email sent. Cheers GW

Like the man says. Western Australia. Seriously, best thing to do imho is 1. Check out Oz Embassy in your area with your legit questions, 2. Find suitable job or job prospects in OZ at preferred location/state capital. (www.seek.com.au) 4. Look for accom in the area in which potential job(s) is. Done. Cheers & good luck. GW PS: Major No-no to try to screw immigration authoritys around. Very bad move. Could be fatal. PPS: If you have trade or tertiary skills (too lazy to read all of thread) WA is screamin for people to join the work skilled force. Could maybe get sponsored after trial period. You never know.............

Nearly missed this, first off gauge needs to be cabable of being opened without terminal damage being inflicted. (best option) if not can get correction chart? The yellow pages is always a good place to start, mechanical gauge range = press - 0 - vacuum, electrical = take sensor also. Any NATA instro calibration company or connections to airforce/airlines/altimeter calibration joints, know anyone in the sky-diving game.......breathing? Cheers GW

Hi there. If it is re-made/painted/scaled dials you require whilst retaining your existing gauges then check out the Process Instrument/Dial gauge companies or high end silk screening guys in the yellow pages. You will most likely need to present your existing or proposed gauges & your design of course. Being one off it could be expensive. My 2c. Cheers GW

Need Quick Info Please
260tech replied to cosworth1971's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Bolt diameter & material? Cat 8? Call your favorite mechanic with the details, a guess would be 28- 35 ft/lb for 10mm dia., squeeky clean threads, lite oil smear so that torque is not wasted on binding threads but is expended on pull down on pressure plate to flywheel? Cheers GW (if that helps) -
Hi there, just a dumb question if it hasn't already been asked, $499 quoted is for HKS cams or HKS cam gears only? Cheers GW

Clarification About Arcing Coil Packs!
260tech replied to Michaelove's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If the sparks are leaking out of your HT ignition cct it is only going to get worse. Coilpaks & all types of insulation for that matter, age & eventually develop miniscule cracks (leakage paths) sparks burn, make/follow carbon tracks, line of least electrical resistance. Answer = Splitfire or in any event replace offending coilpaks with known good items. Cheers GW -
Like the man says, if you are concerned get your aftermarket boost gauge calibrated. Cheers GW

It is antics like that that will get the sorry d@##h$%^d squashed when some innocent driver pulls off the road to check vehicle noise/doughy tire/answer mobile phone/attend nipper/ankle biter backseat emergency etc etc.

Hi Sam, I have been living & working in Kalgoorlie on & off since 1987, firstly Kal is a young person's place where most people come to make quick money, working long hours to do so usually there is no intention to stay longer than necessary to achieve the afore-mentioned goal. Entertainment/social scene is as others have pointed out in this thread tied to the pub scene & Kal has been that way inclined since inception. 1890 or thereabouts. Having said that mouthful Kal is what you make it. There are lots of things to do that are not related to getting maggotted in Hannan Street, many people go camping out bush on the weekends & get maggotted there. These first two options are not compulsory however. Others join the many sports related clubs that are strong in the town & find social outlets to their taste from that direction. Indoor cricket, touch rugby, netbal/basketball, the shooting scene etc. Esperance with its' pristine coastline is a popular weekend destination for many & is about four hours' drive south. Camping in the town of Esperance & surrounds on the beach & fishing related pastimes are very popular. Other areas' of interest are prospecting/gold seeking, the Gemstone club with organised outings and so on. Serious automotive work for imports is generally best dealt with in Perth, there are many links & info to good operators (here on SAUWA) & is a wonderful excuse to head off to the city for a few days. I try & arrange things so that a trip to the city coincides with an event that I am interested in involving the car scene although I do not get down as often as I would like, dislike city traffic as much as anything I suppose. Country night-driving is not recommended on these adventures. The local car scene rotates around speedway when the season is on, also we are trying to get permission from the council to get a dragstrip going & have (I believe) been offered a site by Barrick Mining, opposite the Speedway complex to set this up if & when council approval is granted. There are a few imports getting around town, perhaps 50 in total, my son was interested in getting an import club going here but is now on the move to Ravensthorpe - BHP Nickel, in the New Year. There are many more classic Aussie muscle cars, all car loving people who likewise tend to keep a close eye on their treasures as there are the usual nobheads about that resent the ownership by others of nice things so you will not see many headturners parked in the street un-attended which may lead to the impression that Kal does not have a car scene. It is here but not organised is all. Obviously the offroad department is strongest be it bikes, quads or 4wds but if you take the time to check things out you will find a niche for sure. Transporting vehicles; we have had no trouble with Autotrans, very professional but delivery is to Perth & then reloaded to get back up the track at extra cost. Best fun option is "drive it". I trust nobody minds me taking this opportunity to give the resources heart of WA a plug. Come and enjoy the Goldfields. Cheers GW PS: forgot to mention the Aeroclub.

White Smoke At Idle, Now Car Won't Start
260tech replied to nsta's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Head gasket "immoveable object" generally, difficult to make it rattle, maybe dropped exhaust valve or part of? Maybe time to immobilise ignition/startup & get stethescope out. Trust it not be serious. Cheers GW -
