I once heard someone (uneducated Skyline owner) refer to Stageas as "boats". At the time I thought this was mildly offensive but reading this I'm not so sure. Boats being holes in the water that you throw money into, so they say. Keep it in wagon mode Darrin, & enjoy. Cheers GW

Forget Lockridge.........cheap for a good reason as explained above. I had a house in Beldon for a few years, that place was OK, dunno about now though. Clowns all over the place these days. Good luck with the house hunting anyway. Cheers GW

Classic shot. It's a beautiful thing is the Stagea. Enjoy. Cheers GW

Send "Chuckie" a pm. He's mostly on the WA forum & has sourced them in the past. Knows someone who made them in WA but dunno if they still do. Chuckie would know for sure. Cheers GW -
You just need a unit to suit your motor. The badges & frills doan matter. Something to suit RB26 BCNR33? Apexi PFC or Djetro, Motec, Haltech etc. No problem. Cheers GW See attached Djetro (if it worked)

Best Way To Clean Up Oil Leak
260tech replied to BigDirtyJase's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hey Jason, just in case you haven't pinned down your oil leak yet...........your oil relocator fittings be tapered, nip 'em up. And before you go changing hoses I would check to see that I did not have prob with filter/seal changeout. Sometimes old oil seal can stick in place, not noticed. Double "O" rings (new over old) leak like a sieve, as does damaged/malformed/nicked/misaligned new seal. Just a thought. Cheers GW -
Can you measure up O ring & seal dimensions or take part that seal/O ring fits on/in & head for your nearest bearing/seal joint? Cheers GW

Wont do any harm at all, just get higher hp reading in rwd vs awd is all. As you know the removal of front driveshaft is only a temporary measure for getting the car on the dyno & awd is re-instated as soon as testing is complete. Pretty common to do this if tuner only has access to 2wd dyno or 4wd dyno shagged/unable to handle power output of vehicle being tested. The latter case was exactly what happened with my car at Garage Tenagah when it was being done. That was ages ago now & I have had no problems. Car is great. (Gearbox not so happy atmo however..nuthin to do with tune, more to do with my drivin) Cheers GW

In my Stag 5th gear has always hummed away happily at cruising speed but I did a trip down to the coast recently & noticed (on the way back) that my gearbox was also starting to speak up in 1,2,3rd. Previous driving adventures has not produced tunes in these gears, sounds like some hardening has gone from a bearing(s) or gear teeth, soooo.....time to arrange an investigation before things get nasty if they ain't already. I have ordered some magnetic drain plugs(bolts) to maybe confirm source of music but in advance I would like to know who SAUWA members with problems are using for Skyline manual transmission (GTR box I guess) rebuilds these days. Done a search of WA forum listed workshops & nobody jumps out from the listings as specialising in transmission fixing, I have also looked for possible replacement items on Importmonster, Nengun, RHDjapan............HKS sequential box $16k landed, don't want a Getrag conversion neither. The box is not that noisy thank goodness & the car does not go out much so there is plenty of time to make the right choices as to what to do & which workshop to use. Not interested in members bad outcomes on the public forum but pm'ed advice on what to avoid would be appreciated, I just need to know where to go for good advice & a good result. PM or public, whichever is politically correct. Thanks in advance....... Cheers GW

How Do I Prevent People Stealing My Car Parts?
260tech replied to Roffy92's topic in Western Australia
There it is. Security nuts for the wheels, keep security socket on keyring, quality alarm system professionally installed, security light in carport, dummy security camera could be the go. Body kits, probably accept that they could be ripped off but are replaceable. If you can't go that road get a lockup garage. Attractive items cost money to protect, that's all. Cheers GW -
Name: 260tech Location: Goldfields WA Item Material: Sheet aluminium to same specification as ARC airbox products. Reason for request : Given up looking. Tried "The Monster", Nengun, RHDjapan, Yahoo Japan.................no luck. I would very much like an airbox like the R33 GTR version available from ARC Japan (appropriate genuflections, hope the Tsunami/shite left them unharmed) Or; Someone to send me the specific, accurate dimensions for R33 GTR ARC airbox so that have a general pattern & can get one fabricated. PM me. Online not so often, no net connection where I work so response may be slow. Cheers GW

Well there's me in town..... infrequently. There's heaps of nice clean Skylines around I reckon, saw 2 very tidy examples today, silver job & a white one down the main drag about 2-ish, I've been outta town for a while but there were 4 Stags (counting mine) around that I knew of last time I was in town....a 260RS out in Kambodia as well. Dunno if they are all still around or all on the forum or active but. Problem is work rosters. nightshift, 8 & 6, month on week off..fifo, dido..satphone comms in the boonies.....whatever. One of these days I would like to take a run with the local Nissan boys to the Broad Arrow Tavern or Widgiemootha Roadhouse or just somewhere, for a burger (excuse for run/pics/say gidday) Work rosters rule, Gotta grab it while you can, Cheers GW out.

Like Bubba says, don't mess around. Take it to the people who know. (WA Susp, Wilkinson Sus) too name two. Could save lives. Stay well, GW

Hi Yudy, 260RS rear brake lines are unique. At least the inboard swaged end fitting is not/was not available, (2008~2009) which makes the assembly difficult to reproduce. I used the GTR Nismo (or ARC can't remember) braided rear lines but made new chassis brackets using the existing mounting points. Worked for me, got pics somewher if you are interested. Heavy Petrol Smell After I Changed My Injectors
260tech replied to MrKenny's topic in General Maintenance
I'm guessing you just swapped them out for standard with no re-tune? In which case the heavy fuel smell would be normal. Watch fuel gauge............ -

Last weeks' "Quokka" (West Aust trading post type paper) had an RB26 for sale in the Skyline bits section, $7k & 700hp according to the details in the adv. Dunno if that is still for sale & I do not have the paper at hand but someone else on the forum may, if you are interested Brendan? Good luck with your fix anyway GW

Living the dream in the Pilbara at the moment else I would be up for a cruise to Perth with the Oddy Man (gidday) no worries. Not back in Kal for another month then only for a few days so all too hard to plan anything interesting................. 'til I get sick of work for a while maybe. Enjoy the cruise people. GW -
From another cool tool fan............ Dunno if it's been mentioned before but fyi we used to get the plastic moulds from the socket sets when first purchasing a socket set or the like, upend plastic tray & fill it with silastic, used a couple of cartridges, smooth off & leave to cure for a few days. Did a Minimax socket set like that about 20 years ago. Still got it & the moulding is fine. Just not plastic anymore, that broke away over time leaving silicone mould in place. Downside is the silicone adds weight to the kit but if you are not humping the tools around the plant on your back, (which I am not) then it is not an issue. My 2c Cheers GW
