  1. Ok so we've got lukifer in, and I've had a couple of messages, few people interested but not committing. Any more takers?
  2. The thing is though, it doesn't turn 2.5" until almost at the turbo, to allow space to smooth the flow out into the pissy little turbo as you've described. The intake on the stock turbo is exactly 2.5", and if you expanded it to 3" you'd get more air hitting the turbo, but you still need some way to channel it into a 2.5" hole. Andrew has designed this for the best flow possible, but obviously the stock turbo isn't. If you had a high flow or a turbo with a larger intake you would keep it 3". At this point in time this is the only intake option for people outside of Melbourne and Sydney, and it can be packed up and mailed off.
  3. lol. Wasn't stock. That was after full exhaust, AM Performance dump pipe, mid pipe with highflow cat and cat back. Only other mod was a Blitz panel. Thats why I'd always suggest your first mod should be exhaust. Crazy gains to be had.
  4. There's no point in going 3" to the stock turbo though, as it only has a 2.5" intake on the front of it. It's TINY! With this design if you go high flow later on you can just get the bottom section modified for the larger turbo intake. Top is all 3" though.
  5. Even better. You buy intake now!
  6. lol something like that Craig... There won't be a 100% accurate figure for what you can gain with the intake. My tune is adding the F-con in, upping the boost and . So when I beat the 166kW I got last time, and hopefully get around what Theo got with his F-con (~210kW), I can't exactly say "Intake pipe gives you a 44kW power increase", because it's a flat out lie. The intake pipe removes a restriction in the intake and flows better than stock. I think Scotty and Cam found that the intake pipe was required for over 250kW.
  7. Group buy is now online: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/415042-group-buy-am-performance-m35-intake/
  8. Due to the interest in the AM Performance intake pipe, I've spoken to Andrew and we're now going to do a group buy. You can see pictures of the intake pipe in the original thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/414739-m35-am-performance-intake/ Build quality and workmanship is top notch. These really are impressive bits of gear. They will bolt up to the stock turbo and stock airbox, or you can run a pod filter. AM Performance now sell these online for $480. If we get 5 people, group buy price will be $400. Delivery will be $20 Australia wide, $50 world wide, and will take 7-10 days. Group buy will close Monday 17 December or when we have 5 people. I'd rather close early so we can get these sorted before Christmas. This is a great price for a great product that I'll be dyno testing on Tuesday.
  9. Totally depends on your budget, and what youre going to do with the footage. GoPro and Ion are about the same, both have wifi, both are roughly the same money. GoPro always beats Contour and the new Sony in reviews, but never seen a comparison with Ion. RaceRecall also do a nice Radcam which has better audio, but not as versatile. You're always going to have a trade off, mine is Radcams inside the car and GoPro external, but Ion is as good. Buy what fits your budget.
  10. Andrew now has these for sale on his web site: http://amperformance.com.au/product/miscellaneous/nissan-m35-stagea-performance-cold-air-intake-pipe I will hopefully have a group buy price shortly for all those people who've contacted me.
  11. Buy Pulsar or R31. Mod. Win.
  12. Booked in to get the F-con tuned on Tuesday
  13. Ah yeah, diffuser to clip over the top of the aero bar (I wouldn't want to cut mine). Looks good. As for that gauge pod, I think it sticks out far enough that you could replace the glove box cover but keep the DVD drive where it is. That would be awesome since you never use the DVD drive anyway, just need it plugged in.
  14. Meh. If it works out too expensive, so be it. If we can use our collective buying power to get a decent price through volume, or at least get someone making this kind of stuff for the M35, then that would be awesome. But we don't know until we get more info and give it a crack. Too hard basket mate?
  15. Thats a good idea, but how would you design it so it doesn't look like an after thought? Not sure it'd work with the Aero bar?
  16. I'd like to replace the fake aluminium door inserts with carbon, that'd look ok. Vented bonnet too. Hopefully others are more creative and I can steal ideas.
  17. My tuner doesn't Jethro, it's the HKS guys who needed more information. The information they needed I don't think we could get from Scotty's tune anyway, as he's running non standard injectors.
  18. Its not, but it becomes a pain in the arse to go back and forth every time I need a tune. Would rather work with someone local who is good and is interested in spending the time. There are a couple who have expressed interest, one with their own dyno.
  19. Good idea Chris. I think you have a HKS approved tuner over in WA? Might be able to find the name on here if you search, but not sure if they're affordable. If not I have someone else I can point you to. Informeter's are relatively cheap on ebay. Excellent insurance!
  20. Yeah you're right Scotty. Double checked my figures today, and the injectors are maxing out. The FPR will get me out of the shit short term but I'll be getting it tuned shortly. You get the email from the HKS guys about the tune? Chris, give up on the Haltech. As far as I can tell, Craig had it running... badly... and it was pretty expensive. Go with the proven options; Greddy eManage or HKS F-con. Yep, that's what I'm using Ross. Great for comparing data and working out what you're doing to the car. And saving your engine if you're doing stupid shit with intakes So, after spending yesterday and today driving the car, and especially today being able to check the data on the informeter while woman drove me home from a beer tasting, I've been able to confirm the injectors are maxing out, but the AFM is not. I have a theory on the AFM, which is basically that you won't get much/any higher voltage on the AFM without going highflow turbo with 3" centre, to match to a 3" flange on the intake. I'm at 4.85V now, and I can't see it getting any higher with the stock turbo. Car feels very strong now, and fuel economy is better. AFRs are different without being dangerous. Given the injector situation I wouldn't recommend this to someone who doesn't have some way of tuning the fuel. This could be something as complex as an emanage or F-con, or something more basic like Leon's voltage manipulators. I'm going to use an adjustable FPR for now to give me a little more headroom, and some safety, until the F-con is tuned. Short of installing the two sensors the car, it's now ready for the tune. I have three to pick from now, have spoken to two of them and will speak to the last one tomorrow, who has apparently worked with F-cons before. Hopefully it can be tuned before Christmas on 98, no E85 for now. I want it in and working before we stuff around with E85 as I'll want to run either multiple maps or flex fuel.
  21. How else do you think Craig gets it done so fast for that price?
  22. The ones that are maxing out the AFM, is that stock turbo or high flow? Mine is close but just not quite there. Need to double check injectors but they're also close.
  23. No Rudi, you'll be fine. But I think it's best to look at getting one to get the most out of it.
  24. My block fitting points towards the bleeder, but 26 might be too short? Be interested to see pics of how that sits. Fittings are fine now, but a PITA to tighten properly in the car.
  25. No, it isn't necessary with the design, but you could put one on if you were worried about it.
