  1. I'm going to go drive it, but I can't drive a standard or BC fitted car for comparison. For all I know the BC setup will be just as good, and the EDFC will just be a gimmick, which is why I was asking if anyone else had tried it out.
  2. Does anyone on here run Teins with the EDFC? I know BCs are highly recommended, and thats what I was going to get once I got the car, but a really clean car has come up with the Tein system. A bit more expensive but Im trying to work out if its worth it to get the Tein setup. Otherwise Ill just buy a cheaper car and put BCs on it, Ive read enough on these forums to know thats the best solution for an M35.
  3. Well I made my enquiries and it ends up the silver Sa based RS is the only M35 in SA and sold. So now i have to either talk to Chef about importing one or go interstate. If I can find a decent one interstate, and get it inspected, I will go down that route simply because its faster. If not Ill have to import one. Not thrilled about a 2+ month wait but I guess itll be worth it.
  4. Cheers mate. Just figured if I found one with the Bose setup I wouldnt feel the need to replace the stereo straight away. Ill see how i go.
  5. Thanks for that. Neither were important and from the research I've done here it looks like I'm better off with an RS or maybe an RX anyway. I'll see whats around.
  6. Has anyone looked at this? I'm starting my search now, and am actually in SA (just a bit of a drive to this one). Spoke to Chef, but decided if I can pick up something decent locally, I'll do it. If I can't find anything after a couple of weeks I'll import one. I'm specifically after one with twin sunroofs and interior can't be beige. Other than that, Bose and leather would be nice, but not essential. I'm prepared to travel if necessary, and I've seen a couple of decent, standard ones on Car Sales.
  7. Hmm ok thanks for that. Guess that makes it a straight shootout between a manual and an auto. At the moment I have to say I'm leaning towards a manual C34 S2 with twin sunroof, but I'll report in later!
  8. To all those that don't understand the reason for this thread (or the reason for me digging up a relatively ancient thread now), its so people like me get to choose between two good cars! I'm looking at upgrading my R31 Pintara wagon to something a bit newer, bit faster and bit more comfortable. I've ALWAYS wanted a Stagea, but found that with C34s and M35s available for roughly the same price, there is still a tough decision. If a clutch was a deal breaker, obviously I only have one choice, but it isn't. I will admit I am tempted though. Either way, I'll mainly use it for highway driving and load lugging. We do motorsport video coverage, and the best thing about the Pimptara is the ability to load 4 guys and their cameras and gear into it. I'd like to get something which is more comfortable on country roads, primarily. How much does fuel economy vary between the two? I've spent a couple of hours on here looking at old threads, and found people quoting 7.5L/100 for M35s, and 12-14L/100 for C34s. How does the load area, and accessibility to the load area, differ? How good is the semi-auto in the M35? Mods don't seem to be a big deal. I'd like to mod it, but realistically this will be limited to basic stuff like wheels and exhaust. I mean, when you can get stuff like this manual C34 and this auto C35 it makes it a very difficult decision... If you had to buy one knowing its specifically going to be used for mainly highway/comfort driving and load lugging, what would you buy?
  9. haha... good point... anything can be your daily driver, but I'm after a car that behaves well as a daily driver. surely with those mods it drinks quite heavily?
  10. Thanks for the heads up, but the dealership is actually owned by a mate of my dads that I know fairly well. Their idea of fixing problems is to replace them with the genuine parts, so I'm sure I'll be ok. I'm also in Adelaide, not sure where you are. You make a good point on the servicing, taking it to another shop, and this will probably be what I'll do when I get it. Depends how long it takes me to find a decent one in Adelaide! If people on here think they're pretty good as daily drivers, and I take it for a drive and make sure I'm happy with it after its been complied, then I'll probably grab it. Its only a daily, so it won't get too wild mods and won't be too much horsepower (compared to some I've seen, anyway). Most important is: Is it fine and drivable in stop-start traffic? How does it go on fuel in the real world, especially after a couple of basic mods (exhaust, intake, boost controller and possibly new FMIC)? How does it go with a couple of mates in it (not good i guess, but then again I don't have to sit in the back! )? How reliable is it? My specs when I started looking for a car was for something I could get in and drive every day, no leaks, no reliability problems, no major hassles. I did want something I could carry a couple of mates in and some load, but thats ok, I'll just be selfish! Is a GT-R going to be like this, or is it just going to end up an endless money pit? EDIT: A couple more posts! I've been told it'll be ok on a trip, is this so? I plan on going for a couple of trips with it (Adel-Melb, Adel-Syd), as well as for work having to go out to Mallala, the Speedway, and up around the Murraylands once every couple of weekends. Sounds like its fine daily, which is good to hear!
  11. Hi everyone. I'm new to these forums and have joined because I'm looking at buying an R32 GT-R. Went for a drive the other day, and surprise surprise they're utterly brilliant. However much fun they are to drive though, doesn't make them practical. I'd like to buy one, but I'm looking for a daily driver and so was wondering how people with a GT-R, in particular an R32, got on living with one and driving it as a daily driver? I've read a lot of the info on here so far, there is some very in depth info which is quite useful, but if I use the car as a daily driver, its obviously going to do a few more K's. Is there some parts that are more likely to break with regular driving? If so, what are they? They're also getting older, does this have an impact on getting parts, cost of parts, etc? Car I'm looking at has just been imported by a dealer, includes 12 months warranty and 12 months servicing, but I still want to be sure before I jump in. Is there anything I should get them to change before I buy it? Its just been imported, so is due to go through compliance next week. My last car (which was written off thanks to a lady running up my rear ) was a BMW M535, and while I loved it, every time I looked at it something new broke that needed an expensive replacement part. I don't want that again, hence making sure I do all my research! Thanks in advance for the help and advice.
