M35 Stagea Fluids Replacement Check

That's what I figured. So capacity should be slightly more than it was. Cheers. -
M35 Am Performance Intake
bigkevracer replied to bigkevracer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Now that the car is back together and the intake is all sealed (needed to replace the hose clamp on the BOV return), the butt dyno says it's better, particularly in the top end. Feels very strong. I will try and get an after figure on the dyno before my tune, but in the meantime I've had some queries about a group buy so I'll confirm pricing with Andrew and let you know. -
What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?

Needs more info. I fixed my coolant leak, and refitted the strut brace. Car is f**king awesome. Dropped past Autobarn to pick up the rest of what I needed for the radiator install - coolant, distilled water, a drip tray, fan controller, adaptor for the BSP fitting, and a couple of hose clamps. Headed home and started to fit the fan controller before I realised it was a POS. Cables are retardedly short, and the BSP temp sensor fell apart. Returning tomorrow. Also pulled the front bar off, and the lights out to fit the LED parkers I've had lying around for ages. Found it was easier to spend 2 minutes pulling the bar off to replace the parkers than spend 20 minutes trying to dick around in the front wheel well. Looks pretty awesome. -
M35 Coolant Bypass Mod Install

Lol I meant how long a hose has Scott been supplying. But thanks Not quite Craig's 15 minute figure, but only a little longer. Better without removing the fuel rail, for sure. -

Anyone know what the volume of a standard cooling system is? Would it be fair to say a 32mm twin pass rad will hold twice what a 16mm single pass will? -

Leak fixed, temps perfect now. Leak was a loose proflow fitting on top of the valley. Re-tightened it, sucked all the coolant out of the valley, and pressure tested the radiator. Away we go! Temps are now a stable 90 degrees even with the air con on flat out. MUCH BETTER! Oh, and Scotty: hose is about 36cm long. How long have you been supplying them? -
M35 Am Performance Intake

Not sure yet Rudi. I have to fix my overheating problems before I can properly measure. Hopefully that will happen today and I can thrash it tomorrow on the SAUSA cruise. Do you have an ECU you can tune yet? Good idea. He sells a lot of his stuff overseas now, so it will go up on his web site and hopefully the Russians are interested. -
The Nismo cap. 1.3... Bar? Car has never been overheated though, and I've never done anything to the cooling system... Until the cooling mod.

Very reassuring guys, thanks. Sooner I can get the Mishi in the better! Funny thing about the coolant reservoir. Not sure I've ever seen the level change. Not sure if that is good or bad. Been the same level since I got the car 18 months or so ago.

What temps have people had their M35s up to? Little worried last night's overheating might have caused problems. It seems fine, and I understand M35s run warmer anyway, just like to put my mind at ease.

Hi all. As you may know, Andrew at AM Performance (a SAUSA sponsor) has been working on an intake for the M35 for the last couple of weeks, using my car as the dummy car. The intake, which is about v2 or v3, is now complete and on the car. It's an interesting design, whereby it steps off the turbo at 2.5" (same as the turbo outlet), and expands to 3". It's been made in two halves, with the halves held together by a spring. It's a design Andrew has been using for some time on other cars with great success, and is easier to use than a piece of silicon and hose clamps. The shape is designed for both maximum flow and to ensure that it fits around things on the car, primarily the air con hose, without stretching it and causing stress on it. After all, these things are our road cars and we want creature comforts! Here it is: Here it is on the car: On my car, I've chosen to use it with a pod, a R2C pod to be specific: The same intake can be used with an airbox. You just need a slightly longer piece of silicon (90mm from memory): Andrew has jigged these up and will have them for sale soon on his web site, www.amperformance.com.au. Looks like retail will be $480, but if people are interested I will organise a group buy rate. Let me know if you have any feedback and if necessary we can incorporate into another version in the future. If you're interested in a potential group buy let me know and I'll get something organised.

Thats fine, but my point is that not everyone needs the bigger screen. I have a tablet, why do I need a phone with a big screen as well? Surely smaller screens need less power too?

Who's got the dead ones at the moment? Keen on borrowing one for a couple of weeks if possible.

What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?
bigkevracer replied to Hanso's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Car is back. Couple of things to fix before the SAUSA cruise on Sunday, but I'm confident it'll be right, and I'll be able to properly test out the intake. After driving the car out of Andrew's workshop, I left it warming up, came back to find temps up to 120! Discovered it had dropped close to 5L of coolant - which doesn't sound like just the leak at the back of the block. Topped up and temps seem ok - about 94 idle after 5-10 mins, but remember it's been close to 40 degrees ambient in Adelaide today, and wasn't much better tonight. Seems to be bled properly now too (although I thought it was before). As for the intake, what a work of art. Andrew's work really is top notch. I asked him about the shape and it's basically that shape because he didn't want to lean on and cause damage to the air con hoses. He's found from other cars this doesn't cause a big issue. He's forwarding me through photos shortly, but the even the jig looks cool. Only downside I can see so far is my intake temps seem to be higher. Not sure how much of this is because of the ambient being so high, but by the time I've sealed the pod in a heat shielded box we should be all good. Note I did change to a larger R2C pod at the same time, so I don't think this is the fault of the intake pipe. Andrew also modded the fan shroud while I was there, so I've now got everything I need to overhaul the cooling system except the fan controller for the thermos. -
iPhone 5 isn't quite S3 with Apple stickers, but thats almost what I was looking for: a S3 that was smaller, but didn't sacrifice power. Processor in the new iPhone is a custom Apple design manufactured by Samsung, not a Samsung processor. Screens were all Samsung, now I think Samsung have been cut back, and its mostly LG and Sharp supplying screens. All these wankers who think their iPhone is better than all the other phones are deluded. But they're pretty much a copycat of everything else now, which is scary. After years of offering phones that were based on 2-3 year old hardware, they've finally made something current. Imagine if they keep this up and do finally make something better? Or maybe Samsung et al could realise that not everyone after a good, powerful phone wants a 5" screen, and start making smaller phones that don't suck more than Lindsay Lohan.

I'm with you here Leon, don't know anything so relying on expert opinions! Dale, Andrew has photos for me tonight so I'll be able to confirm, but apparently it steps up pretty much straight away from the turbo, but I wasn't aware the intake on the turbo was only 2.5". -

Occured to me too. Looks like it follows a different path to stock but I'll have a chat to Andrew tonight. -

Apparently the inlet side of the turbo is 2.5"? So Andrew has matched at the bottom and flared it out to 3". -

All good things come to those that wait, and tonight Andrew at AM Performance posted pictures on Facebook of my new intake. After originally thinking he'd need to make two versions, one for the airbox and one for my pod, Andrew ended up making one that suits both. I'll be giving the whale her maiden voyage tomorrow night, and if everything goes well Andrew has a jig ready to go. It's been a long two weeks but looking forward to driving Moby again! And not having to drive a mint green automatic Barina with pink seat covers anymore... -

Not very realistic Alex - three will be those dayglo colours, one will be sticker bombed.
