  1. Not worth the risk I don't think, so cheap insurance. You can log it all too. I don't think Scott had issues with the stock ECU retuning itself though? I'll be able to tell you more in a few weeks when I get it in. Although mine will be different, as I've got the extra sensors.
  2. Like Loctite Dale? That's what dad told me to use.
  3. Pinging? Might be worth looking into this: http://knockdefender.com/ I've got one wired into my plug in F-con harness. Getting setup at the same time.
  4. lol you sound like Leon! I figured the thermostat would be harder to get locally than a radiator, so I needed one on the shelf! There was method to my madness... Plus, my shelf is starting to get emptied, so need to find stuff to fill it up again! In all seriousness though, I've read enough on here to have me a bit nervous about the radiator, so I have been tempted for a while to replace it before it dies, probably with the Mishimoto.
  5. I'll check out the US deal Craig, thanks. The one Hayden linked to looks like it'll be fine too. GCG have them locally, but a bit pricier: http://gcg.com.au/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=1132&category_id=201&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=101
  6. Nah thats cool Craig. I'll pull the bumper off when I get back and see what's what. Tells me we only need a little one, which should be easier to mount. Say a 10-13 row. Just Jap have some really good pricing on the ones that Hayden used here, and there are some decent adaptors on ebay. Should be able to get something half decent for ~$150 plus hoses.
  7. Great... maybe I should get a new radiator now. I need to regass the air con and replace the belt, and get the bypass kit, and I've got a Nismo thermostat here waiting to go on when I replace the radiator. Might be worth getting it over and done with before the stock one dies, and I can keep it as a spare.
  8. Is that a 10 row Craig? Wheres the trans cooler?
  9. I've got an Innovate MTX-L, paid $200. Depends on how much you want them to match.
  10. Thats what I'm interested in. But you havent got one in your Stag yet do you?
  11. Cheers Hayden. Be good to see how it goes. Where did you mount it mate? Got a photo?
  12. Cheers Alex. I take it that's without a cooler?
  13. Have you had a chance to measure temps yet Hayden? Considering doing this and trying to work out if the size you've picked is big enough, and if it's not where to fit something bigger
  14. True. There's a bit of quid pro quo going on here, so I know it'll work out. Plus he'll be all set for the next person!
  15. Good read. Certainly makes me want to go and have a look at Temora. Did you enter any cars for Hot Tuner?
  16. I've left it entirely up to Andrew, he'll do what he thinks and I'm sure it'll be right to go. If it needs to be modified later that's not a big deal.
  17. Looks like he needs it. If your driving returns 199L/100km it's time to do something about it!
  18. Couldn't possibly be because the software they need is Mac only could it?
  19. Lach, it's not an iPhone problem, it's a network problem. Some ISPs don't let you use their outgoing mail server when you're not connected to their network. The easiest solution is not to use a Bigpond email address, but setup something Google/Gmail as Aaron said above. An alternative is when you get your SIM or whatever you get to use the local network, ask what the details are for their outgoing mail server and change the settings in your phone to match. Should work!
  20. I figured it was because I was a mechanical numpty that I got frustrated with the actuator... Andrew's got the car for a few days, he'll take his time and we'll see how it goes. That was the last thing I had to do on the car before the F-con sensors went in, and it got tuned. So shouldn't be long now. Just depends on whether I should get the TransGo kit in first. At this stage I'm not 100% on the highflow route. That's something Andrew and I will have a chat about when I pick up the car.
  21. No worries mate, sorry I didn't get to take any pics today, was in a hurry. Puppy had to get to puppy school... My intake won't have to be 'absolutely perfect' as I'm using a pod. SA doesn't have the same rules on induction as the eastern states. I told Andrew to make up a jig, so we'll see what happens.
  22. I told him I'm half expecting a call telling me to bugger off. Wasn't impressed when he looked where it had to go. Even less impressed when I mentioned it had to be 3"... Why did you decide you couldn't make a jig in the end Scotty?
  23. Dropped Moby off at AM Performance for the suction pipe, a job Andrew is really looking forward to after seeing how much room there is to work in. Drive there was the first time I'd driven the car with the EVC fitted. It still needs some tuning. At first it felt very sluggish, until I worked out how it was setup. A change of the boost settings saw it return to almost normal, but it seems to be making boost a LOT earlier than it was. It's also measuring boost before the factory boost gauge hits about -0.25PSI. Hoses aren't leaking though, everything is staying together, so I'm convinced it'll be a setup thing. Just need more time with it.
