September/october Sa Stagea Cruise
bigkevracer replied to bigkevracer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I have to go straight past, so I'll meet there. We usually get half a dozen or so. -
Hey Tom. I didn't use the sub loom on mine at all, used the original one as part of the universal kit and it just dropped into an M35. I think they're drop in on the C34 as well, and just use the original 45 degree filter/strainer?
-
Pretty sure I still have my old one if you want to tinker Leon. Let me know and I'll post it up.
-
Cheers guys. Chris, do you stock any of those, and/or ship interstate? Sounds like it's the Pioneer, Blau or Eclipse. Prefer the bigger screens of the Pioneer and Eclipse, and looks like the F40 is cheaper.

M35 Boost Controller Install
bigkevracer replied to bigkevracer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hey Dale, you've actually mounted your screen where I was thinking of putting it. Looks good. I've got an EVC6, so it has a small stepper motor, which is fairly big compared to what you've got there (which could almost pass as stock). Since I already have the motor and everything I won't be using the OEM solenoid. I'll mount it where I'd prefer to mount it for now and just run the hoses and short as I can, and then see what happens. IF I have to move it, so be it. Cheers guys! -

I think 10am meet for 10.30am start is the normal time? Meet point is central, I'll send out invites tonight. -
That plan makes no sense. $1/month, but minimum first month charge is $41, and you must have a minimum of $20 in your account at any one time. So why is the first month $41?

A Project I Have Been Working On!
bigkevracer replied to ECR33_RB25DET's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Ok I have to ask - why? And how did you get all those boxes? Do you work for a large company that just supplied everyone iPhones? -
Pre ordered the LCE now, noticed that FH is supposed to be able to use Forza 4 cars... hopefully that means full car customisation will be in.

M35 Boost Controller Install
bigkevracer replied to bigkevracer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
So I didn't get to this today, but when I was playing around I was wondering, if I put the solenoid under the new drivers side battery cover, are the air lines going to be too long? HKS are pretty insistent in the book on making sure the hoses are as short as possible, and I noticed doing a search that Andy, you put yours in the passenger side. I could fit it there, but it's a bit of a hassle, and I'd prefer to fit it in the drivers side where there is more room and I can put the FPR and boost controller side by side. -
So I started (not finished, but you'll see why) fitting this battery cover today. I ended up getting some Dremel cutting blades for my Ozito rotary tool. They work pretty well, but they don't last very long I pulled the original battery cover off and had a look at what the metal looked like, then worked out what I needed to cut, and away I ground: Everything went pretty well, and after I'd cut everything the battery cover fit much better. I think it'd be better with a couple of L brackets to hold it in, but I didn't pull the plastic plug out and put a grommet in to secure it. Something to worry about later. After that, I masked off the area I'd cut, so that I could paint it with white rust proof/epoxy paint: You can see there it looks pretty crap, but that's only the first coat. I've now sprayed 3-4 coats and it looks fine. The paint is still wet, so I've left the bonnet slightly open, and tomorrow I should be able to finish removing the masking tape and fit the battery cover.

I thought you only just got it? -
Not in SA. There have been a number stolen and then used as getaway cars for robberies, but I didn't think as many lately. I guess they've worked out they're high powered and can store everything they can steal?

So I'm looking for a new headunit to replace my VZ400A, which I have a love/hate relationship with. The car currently has a TV tuner wired to the headunit, which then sends out the video signal to the stock screen and the headrest monitors. I'm also hoping to hook a HKS CAMP2 up to the head unit, and if possible would like something that is able to output CAMP2 to one screen, and DVD/TV to another. Haven't worked out the best way to connect yet. Looking to replace the headunit with something that has CD/DVD/GPS Nav/iPhone integration/bluetooth/etc, but reviews are a little thin on the ground. I'm wondering who else has fitted something like this. What I've looked at so far is: Pioneer AVIC-F40BT: http://www.pioneer.c...40BT/index.html Alpine INA-W910RC: http://alpine.com.au...php?item_id=277 Kenwood DNX7310BTNAV: http://au.kenwood.co...ms/DNX7310BTNAV Blaupunkt New York 800: =1562&no_cache=1&L=1"]http://www.blaupunkt.de/index.php?id=959&tx_ddfproducts2_pi1[view]=1562&no_cache=1&L=1 Eclipse AVN827GA: http://www.eclipse-w...tion/avn/827ga/ To me, they look like 5 versions of the same thing (except the Blau, which has buttons and a slightly smaller screen). Has anyone played with any of these, installed them, had them in their car or has any opinions? Before you ask, I'll be doing speakers/amp at the same or similar time, so speaker output isn't important.

Geeze Jase - you've got a problem. A Stagea for your daily and a Stagea for your weekender? Should have taken the chance to upgrade to an M35 for the daily! I'll be sending out invites for the meet point shortly, and will post up here when they've been sent. -
M35 Boost Controller Install
bigkevracer replied to bigkevracer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Cheers Leon. I was playing with the hoses today and saw the exact T piece, but I wasn't sure which hose went where (although you could make assumptions...) Andy's backed those up, so should be all good. Wiring looks like the easy part! (famous last words...) -

Cheers Andy! I know exactly what you mean, saw it today. Thanks! I'll try and take plenty of photos for the next schmuck. -
First time I've agreed with the shit you dribble on here sometimes. I find the 'more complicated' arguement amusing when, for a power user, in a lot of ways its more difficult. GPS is a good example. 4 screens to do a one click thing in Android. 1.5 days with an iPhone and each have their pros and cons. I did have a chuckle when I was told I could customise my 'widgets' though...

Pick one up. The weight is noticable, much more than the weight differences with heavier phones (inc iPhone 4). But the big difference is how theyve made it that light without making it feel like a cheap POS. My HTC Desire felt well built and solid, and was a reasonable weight. My Samsung Galaxy S 2 was a great phone, but felt like a cheap, fragile POS. Same goes for thickness. It really is quite amazing. Maps in America suck. In Australia we have slightly different expectations. Google Maps doesn't give us 3D, neither does Apple maps. The other thing people are annoyed at is no public transport directions. Not something I've ever used, so doesn't bother me. Other than that, the 5 is a predictable improvement on the 4: faster processor, more RAM, thinner and lighter, 4G, marginally better battery life, inconvenient new plug. Revolutionary? Please. Its no better (and dare I say no worse) than most top of the line Android phones. I moved yesterday, after years on Windows Mobile 5-6.5 and Android. So far I'm really liking it, especially the form factor. Of course angry fanbois will now shoot me down in flames, but I did a lot of research and for me so far, so good.

Hi all. I'm looking at hooking my EVC up tomorrow and I can't for the life of me find an M35 tutorial which includes the hose plumbing. All focus on the wiring, so I've got that covered. But what I'm looking for, being a turbo noob, is where I need to plumb the stepper motor in. I know what I need to plumb it into based on the EVC install instructions, but not where those plumbing points are. Any suggestions/pointers? Thanks!
