  1. All done. Piss easy in the end, can't believe its taken me this long to do! What do you use as a ground Scott? I've just used a seat belt bolt for now. Taking it for a test drive, then I'll put it all back together (well, put the back seat back in, anyway).
  2. Yep. OT much? Thanks mate...
  3. So anybody know which wire is which going into the pump before I start poking around?
  4. ISC Performance looked like they were doing an eBay clearance this week. One as an auction, the rest as "Buy it now" for $199. Ended up getting FPR and gauge for $166. Figured it was dodgy at that price until I saw who the seller was. Seems like Craig and I think it was Alex? Worked out that the ECU didn't like large injectors running at low duty? Figure adjustable FPR lets me see what pressures I'm getting, and tune them if I need to, until I get to a point where I need the ID1000s. Seems to be working for Leon.
  5. I picked up the same one Paul, but managed to get it slightly cheaper. Not sure they're illegal in SA, but having the gauge will be helpful. Then it just needs intake pipe and she's all ready to get the Fcon tuned!
  6. Yep pressure should be the same, but I've got a Turbosmart adjustable FPR on its way now. I think I paid ~$160-180 for the DW on ebay delivered. Wasn't too bad. I was tossing up the Aeromotive too, I think it's the same size but flows an extra 40lph: http://aeromotiveinc...p-offset-inlet/ Checking the DW site they now rate the DW301 for 320lph, don't know if they've updated it. Didn't realise the Walbros were so cheap now? I ended up softing out and getting the DW hardwire kit too (http://www.deatschwe...mp-hardwire-kit) very nice and neat, and just easier. Scotty, didn't have any problems getting the main o ring back in/on. All seems fine for now? I'll have another look later. Any value in replacing the in tank power connector with the Deatschwerks one? Seems to have heavier gauge wire, but you still have that crappy thin wire out the top of the tank.
  7. Nope, didn't change any o rings. Seems to be fine? Why did you put the assembly in the vice? Never seen a Walbro - looks slightly different but I've never had both in my hands. If you can get those colours that'd help heaps with the rewire.
  8. I finally got around to fitting my Deatschwerks DW301 fuel pump today. Very happy with how it went. I followed Dunc's plagerised how to guide: http://www.m35stagea.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=259 Not fitting a Walbro, I wasn't sure what differences there would be. Physically, the DW301 looks the same size as the standard pump, just slightly longer in the body. You can follow the guide as Dunc describes, but a couple of notes: Even though the DW301 looks the same size as the stock, you still have to shave the tabs on the bottom of the pump. You don't need to shave it completely, I think you can get away with cutting them half way. You also still have to notch the base. Highly recommend you replace the filter while you've got it all apart. I think mine was ~$30 trade from Main North Nissan. I probably don't need to mention this, but obviously our fuel system has a return, so slightly different to that in the Walbro tutorial. Very easy job in the end, and took less than an hour. It is also not necessary to rewire the fuel pump to get the car to run, however I've run all the wires now so that's my next job (now that I know the pump works!). I don't suppose anyone (Scotty?) knows which wires are which coming out of the fuel pump plug? I'm guessing fuel pump pos/neg and fuel level sender pos/neg, but which colour is which? Saves me fishing the multimeter out... I'm just going to splice the new wires into the top , and run the standard little wires for 10cm out the top of the fuel pump assembly. Hope that helps someone in the future!
  9. Your check engine light is on...
  10. Nice! But that last photo screams "front windows need tint"!
  11. That wing is ridiculous though. Not sure if it's the adjustable version, but epically OTT. Y50 Fuga front end might be ok, if it'll fit. But no one around here would put a different face on their M35, would they?
  12. You really don't need to upgrade the caliper then. I'm running DBA 4000 series slotted rotors, and QFM HPX pads. No problems. Didn't even fade when I had it on the track. I've got braided brake lines and new fluid to go in, but no issues anyway. If I was going to upgrade though, the Brembos or the Akebonos look the business.
  13. If it's really not what you want Leon, we may be able to organise a swap later Leon. Be happy to get mine rebuilt with the smaller core and get it shipped to you. Be interested to see the numbers the smaller core puts out, I'd be happy to compromise on top end power to an extent if I was going to get better response, just depends on how much of a compromise.
  14. It's fixing the one thing that I think Forza lacks - open world driving FTW. TDU is an awesome concept, with Forza physics and development behind the concept, I'm looking forward to it for a bit of variety!
  15. Not sure, but if you scroll through the comments the guy from Do Luck leaves his email if you want to follow up. I'd imagine that maybe it needs reprogramming for the heavier car, and maybe Nissan used a different plug for the G-sensor?
  16. What are you planning on doing with the car? If it's just going to be a road car, plenty of us are happy with slotted rotors and decent pads. My brakes didn't give up at Mallala last time I was out.
  17. Fair call. How do you even gouge the wheels when just doing an alignment? Maybe try Norwood Auto Service next time?
  18. Didn't you get the little one Leon? That's supposed to be the less laggy of the two Hypergear options?
  19. Anyone know the correct wheel nut torque? Seems that G35/350Z is about 80ft/lb. What are others using?
  20. Nope, I thought it was out by a fixed percentage but the more you make me think about it the more I think it's variable. I was thinking it was a fixed 5-10%. I'll measure again when I get the new wheels and tyres on and see how I go.
  21. Thanks Leon. I guess I'll wait and see how far out it is, before I work out if I want to do that. You're right about being linear. I'd say its a fixed percentage. I know mine at present is out by a couple of k's at 60 (maybe 5%?). I'll have a look around for a progressive one too. But if the issue is the computer, that complicate things a bit. I should permanently mount the informeter anyway, I'll use that for speed.
  22. Are the head gaskets for the VQ35 the same as those for the VQ25? I see Nismo do VQ35 gaskets...
  23. Thanks guys. I get the impression that the M35 is slightly different, working through the CAN bus? Has anyone managed to get their speedo calibrated in their M35?
  24. Import Monster's translation is down, but you get the idea: http://www.importmonster.com.au/view?url=http://page15.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t248196238&thumb=http://auctions.c.yimg.jp/f26batchimg.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/users/4/6/1/9/powergroup1220-thumb-1334241910292269.jpg&title=HKS%20M35%20VQ35DE%20S%20C%20GT%20V35%20Z33
