  1. PMs replied. Little bit of interest, mainly in custom touches. I'm going to get proper photos of my twin muffler catback on the weekend, and I'm going to talk to Andrew about all of the custom requests. If there are any more requests let me know.
  2. I don't know how much restriction is it but you'll need the dump pipe just to get rid of that cat. I'd keep a cat in the midpipe but with the Nissan Sports Muffler do you still have the box of baffles in the middle of the car? If so a midpipe would make a huge difference! I know where you can get all that sorted too...
  3. Plus your standard ones are probably hammered. Mine are knackered after 80k kms. I'll tell you how I go after I get mine done.
  4. In Australia, there's no way his budget will extend to a PM35. It sounds like options are a C34 currently in Aus or importing an NM35. Both are decent options, depending on what deal he can find at the time and how long it'll take to arrive.
  5. Thats the idea. The Pedders guys said they'd used them on other cars and found them really good, make the car nice and stable at speed with a couple of extra degrees of caster.
  6. What are you getting instead Tom? Adam, what rotors and pads did you go with?
  7. They're $150 a set. Pedders suggested I get them because mine were worn, they're going in when I finally get the alignment.
  8. Yep, I've learnt to hate scotch locks for just this reason
  9. To answer your M35 question, the S1 and S2 models you're looking at are both C34s. NM35 is the series 1 4WD version of the M35. PM35 is the 2WD version of series 2, and PNM35 is the 4WD version of series 2. The main differences from a practical standpoint are a longer wheelbase, so more room for your rear passengers, and the VQ25DET (in the NM35s) instead of the RB25DET. Mods seem to be easier on the C34s, but the M35s aren't significantly more difficult at all. Not much room in the engine bay, but normal maintenance is just as easy (until you go to pull the turbo out, but then I think Scotty's got that down to an hour or two now?). I bought the M35, as it had a much newer, and IMHO nicer interior, and the extra cabin space. Before I started looking I was going to get a C34. Before you make your mind up talk to a few people about importing your own, see what the comparative pricing is. I've seen clean M35s for ~$14k, and I've heard of people importing them and with all the costs end up paying closer to ~$12k. Depends on how fussy you are, what features you want and how long you can wait.
  10. Hi guys. I started a separate thread on this, but I put it in the wrong section I've had a few of the Adelaide guys ask me about running a group buy on the AM Performance M35 exhausts, similar to what is on mine. These exhaust components, dump pipes, mid pipes and cat back exhausts, are designed to bolt up to the factory mount points. So if you have one of Scotty's dump pipes, and a Nismo exhaust, you can just get the mid pipe if you want. Or you can get the whole lot, depending on what you need. I need 5 people interested to go ahead. If you're interested, let me know. For more info check out the original thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/387032-eoi-am-performance-m35-exhaust-group-buy/ Any questions just let me know!
  11. I've got a later model, but I find between the forums and basic common sense its not a hard car to work on. Oil change should be no harder than your Jazz, that's for sure! For mine, most basic parts are the same part number as something locally delivered, so it's not too hard to get the essentials. In terms of bigger stuff, panels etc, you can always import them if you can't get it locally. Never imported through Import Monster, but Jesse Streeter is very easy to deal with and very helpful. I've bought a few bits through him, but all smaller stuff. I'm a terrible mechanic but I've found I'm slowly getting better working on the Stag, and have done most myself. I am lucky that I have a mechanic father that I can use for backup, if I get into trouble, and a hoist etc, but this is all 'nice to have' rather than necessary. Do it. Buy it. You'll love it!
  12. Driven an Amarok for an extended period? Dad has one, previous cars included a Q7 and his work Falcon Ute. He loves it, and in the driving I've done I found the 6 speed difficult to adjust to on take off (never driven a 6 speed manual before, worried about slipping it into reverse ), but once I stopped taking off in third it was all good! No issues with build quality, it's designed as a work/commercial vehicle, so it's a far cry from other VW/Audi interiors.
  13. Hi all. I've had some queries from the local Adelaide guys about the AM Performance exhausts, and in particular the possibility of a group buy. I've spoken to Andrew and if we get 5 or more people it works out to a pretty good saving. Andrew used my car to develop the exhaust, and we've seen a 30kW gain on the dyno, and it flows an additional 3PSI boost. Prices are: Dump pipe (catless) - $420 (usually $480) Mid pipe with 200 cpsi ceramic cat - $400 (usually $450) Mid pipe without cat - $230 (usually $250) Cat back exhaust with muffler in the middle and single cannon style exhaust - $740 (usually $800) Cat back exhaust with twin mufflers - $870 (usually $930) Titanium tips on your cat back exhaust - add $150 Installation in SA - $280 Everything is made in stainless steel (except the titanium, obviously). Pricing doesn't include postage, I will get an idea of the right way to go if I get interest from interstaters. Note all of this has been designed to connect to the stock mount points, i.e. you could order a dump pipe and mid pipe, then still retain a Kakimoto, Blitz or whatever Japanese exhaust takes your fancy. Or if you just need to rid yourself of that box of baffles, you could order just the mid pipe. Dump pipe: Mid pipe: Tips (Mmm... titanium....): I don't have any great photos of the cat back at the moment, but will if people want. If I get 5 or more people interested, I'll go ahead. Thanks! Ryan
  14. Red C34 out the front of super cheap auto on philip highway, elizabeth. Nice front mount!
  15. How does that work? You pay Iron Chef's fees, which are all very clear and transparent, or you normally pay the dealer's unknown markup. What's the difference with Vince?
  16. I wouldn't get all worked up over a dealer, particularly an SA dealer. I travelled to Sydney and drove mine back after buying from Northshore. If you want after sales support though, I probably wouldn't recommend them. If theres no hurry, why not go through Iron Chef? That way you'll save some money and get exactly what you want. The $16500 one is worth a look. Looked ok when I saw it. I have to ask though, if you're going to put 30,000/year on it, is a Stagea really the right choice? I get ~12-15L/100 normally, hoping for a bit better after cruise control and a tune. Be expensive to maintain doing those K's I'd think, but I'm sure Cam will tune in (iamhe77) since I think his had 240,000 on it.
  17. I wouldn't expect you to find anything like that. Why not just get your local exhaust shop to make up the flanges for you? Or ask Scotty? Do you still have the stock midpipe with the big and heavy box of baffles in the middle of the car?
  18. Lol. Still trying to sell yours?
  19. FYP = Fixed Your Post. Check out the Freeway Dolphin web site. One of the few 'tuners' who did a range of body and performance parts for Stageas, both C34 and M35.
  20. Looking at buying a set of 350Z Track rims. Found a set with tyres at a reasonable price. I know there are a couple of guys on here running them, so are they a good, stock looking option? Seems like at 18x8 they'd be a fair size for track rims, decent selection of rubber available?
  21. Has anyone got these working in their m35?
  22. Black M35 at Davoren Park On The Run this morning. Black Volk copies on the rear, silver WedSports on the front. Anyone on here?
  23. Nice one. Explains why I got a 6N21A the other day when I ordered my replacement. Doesn't explain why Iain keeps getting 6N211's though?
  24. Was going to get injectors first, but since I may need the car on 98 sooner than I thought I'm not sure. Figured wire cut was easier/quicker. Just throw the fuel pump and fuel filter in and get it tuned, should be fine.
