  1. DTM cars are 10x hotter than Supertaxis. With the carbon fibre and the wings and *drool* Rumour is Toyota, Honda, BMW and a fourth, unknown Japanese brand is coming on board. Nissan perhaps? I would have thought Hyundai would have been more likely. And I wouldn't have thought BMW would be interested. How's that going to work for their marketing if they get beaten by a Holden?
  2. The guy quoted me $80 ish for 4 litres, and specifically mentioned chrono. It's a bathurst weekend thing.
  3. Just got off the phone from Repco. Anyone interested in servicing their car with Motul 300v should stock up this weekend - they're doing 20% off. I'll head down in the morning and grab some I think, give it a try!
  4. Oops. Already transferred, figured SAU had to pay the money to CAMS anyway on my behalf. Can I just get a refund on the day?
  5. Have you used it yet? It'd want to be really good stuff considering the buggering around to get some!
  6. Damn. Now the posse have nothing to do with their pitchforks!
  7. Paid balance today, plus $25 for the CAMS license. Still got a fair bit to do before the day, but hoping to get most over and done with during the next two weekends. Still looking at lap timers, NSW are running a thread on them if anyone has one/used one: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/378988-lap-timers/
  8. I'm guessing maybe he saw a pic of a Stag bonnet and didn't twig that the engine was different?
  9. You've got a switch though, you can turn it back for normal road use. Not too bad.
  10. Not sure, did you try this...?
  11. And yet you long for it back...
  12. I used to work somewhere that sold the Intercomp timers. Great quality, heavy duty unit. These days though they're a bit cheaper if you shop around, i.e. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ICP-360050/ Like GTRKat, I'm looking at the Performance Boxes, as it appears they're a lot more versatile for club level motorsport, because you can use it as a lap timer or 1/4 mile timer. It can also give you a lot more information on your car, which I thought might be useful for a couple of projects we're working on. They're readily available in Aus for $650, and about the same price to import, so not cheap. I haven't read anything that's made me make a decision one way or the other. G-TECH Pro looks like a similar thing slightly cheaper: http://www.summitracing.com/search/Brand/G-TECH-Pro/?keyword=g+tech If anyone has any experience with these kinds of things it'd be great.
  13. Did someone say "M35 Track Car"?
  14. One step ahead of you Leon! Catch can is sitting in my boot ready to install, hopefully on the weekend. Just need to make up a bracket. Couldn't believe the amount of blowback when we pulled it apart for a spark plug change.
  15. this, right? -> http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/368229-m35-trans-unlock-mod/page__p__5872643__hl__manual+m35__fromsearch__1#entry5872643
  16. Nope, same as any other VQ. Not sure if anyone in Adelaide stocks them, I ordered mine online. Apparently Autobarn have the Blitz filters with the magnets though. Craig, this is the tin? $98 for 5L from GCCorp.com.au
  17. He runs the NEO oil. I'm trying to work out what physical difference there is, and I can see the Motul 300v is more viscous than the Royal Purple, but haven't worked out any other significant differences. I can't find the NEO datasheet - their own web site doesn't even list a 10w40 anymore...
  18. Why??? What is with everyone selling or threatening to sell?!
  19. Haha smart arse. If you're going down the Ryco route though, there are other people who produce filters cheaper which are just as good if not better. And if we're going to have a discussion on paint I'm not sure I'm a fan of the bright pink HKS filter
  20. Maybe he saw a 260? I've seen heaps of those with twin pods, one per turbo.
  21. Why has this been unstickied? And why hasn't Ironpaw posted pics of his Nismo bar yet?
  22. I've always found Ryco filters overpriced for average quality. I've got a Nismo filter on at the moment, which seems fine, and about to change it for a HKS one when I do my oil change. Going to try the 300v eventually, not sure whether to do it this change for the track day or use the leftover Valvoline first. So I finished fitting the intercooler today. Not a great idea to do while you've got a cold/flu thing, but I needed to get it done and the car mobile again. While I was at it I threw all the black clips on the front bar in the bin, and replaced them with brand new ones I bought on ebay. I also soldered the pins on the factory boost sensor at the same time, so the boost gauge works again (finally!). Only thing is I've now got a bit of white smoke. Not sure if it's burning off the excess WD40 I used on the silicon joiners or what, but hopefully it goes away after a bit of a drive.
  23. Cheers guys. Managed to get it on, all sorted now. Looks nice, only thing I can't work out is whether the fan is wired up properly, but I couldn't get it to turn on. Never seen the stock one on either... The nuts are the ones for the thermo fan mounts. There are 4 bolts for the cooler supplied, and I got 3 thinner bolts for the thermo fan, and 2 nuts which fit the cooler bolts, not the thinner bolts. Never mind, hand some spares, and all good!
  24. I'm taking mine our to the SAUSA track day at the beginning of November at Mallala. Spoke to Craig about his experiences tracking his car, and the tips were: - Power steering cooler. Standard on 350Z/G35 and PNM35, but not on the NM35? No idea why, but I've ordered a Nismo one that should be here any day now. - Trans cooler - Oil change with high quality oil - Drill out the banjo bolt to turbo to 2mm - Decent pads/rotors I think that's everything. Shift kit is a good idea too!
