  1. Has anyone on here done a track day in their M35? I know Craig has, but I'm doing one in November and I'm trying to work out if I need to fit an oil and trans cooler beforehand. I know it's a good idea to have them anyway, but I need to work out if I have to or not. Anyone run round a track without these coolers?
  2. Great. Guess I'll try and add trans and oil coolers to my list of things to do before I go...
  3. Must think they're Spoon engines. And race wars is almost here. Make sense this time? I'm sure I've seen complete front cuts for $4.7k or less. That seems a bit crazy.
  4. Contact GSL Rallysport on here. They're pretty cheap for RDA and DBA rotors. I'm not sure the Gold ones are worth the extra? I think most people here are running Hawk, QFM or Nismo pads. GSL do QFM, and I have a set of QFM HPX pads ready to go in when I finally get around to fitting all my nice shiny brake stuff.
  5. Sorry, next time I'll quote the Rock instead. Except none of his quotes are as memorable...
  6. I just called Nisswreck for some bits, they certainly want a premium. Race wars must be coming up.
  7. WTF? How?!
  8. I didn't realise that was an automatic thing with the emanage, I thought it was only under certain circumstances. Still Fcon is 2-3 times the cost. Where are you getting it tuned?
  9. And it was plug in and go, plus tune?
  10. So... you're weird and you blame Canon? Should have just got used to it I've got a 7D, only complaints are in terms of using it as a video camera. Who puts HDMI out on a camera and doesn't let you stream full HD over it?!
  11. Yeah got the tracking number this morning. I don't think the guy is a scammer either, but he is an absolute joke. I can't recommend highly enough that people stay away. There goes your fuel economy Iain! Is the AFM the same as the PNM35?
  12. Careful Iain... everyone else has Canons, and we'll gang up on the odd one out who bought the Nikon! And I do mean odd!
  13. Rear rotors turned up today, another set of DBA 4000 Clubspec T3s Now have everything for the brake upgrade, just waiting till the shocks turn up. Which I'm still waiting for. Wish I'd done a bit more research before I ordered. If I'd known then what I know now, I never would have ordered from STT. It's $100 saving, and it's a total joke. Not worth it.
  14. Extreme example, but one I always remember... what happens when you wear an open face helmet... Bar my first rally, when I had to borrow a helmet, I've always worn full face, and never had an issue with it being too hot. Yet we're not complaining about being too hot... now who's soft?
  15. Instead of carrying two lenses, you'll only need one that'll do everything.
  16. All you NEED is an Australian Standards helmet. Which is a motorbike helmet, and you can go to any bike shop. Autosport are doing open face helmets for $99, and that will be fine for most people. You spend the extra money on an FIA approved helmet and itll be lighter, and probably more comfortable, but if youre only doing a couple of track days a year an AS helmet will be fine.
  17. I dont think the factory option alarm automatically includes an immobiliser. Mine didnt.
  18. I wouldnt worry about that. Some mates were trying to convince me I didnt need a 70-200 2.8 IS, so leant me a non IS. Brilliant bit of glass. My next purchase for sure. Seen those, look nice. Although considering how small and light it is Id ditch the lenses and get a nice flexible zoom lens. Youre a sick man Craig... Go talk to your wife then!
  19. Do you have the 2.8 IS? The last lens I bought was the sigma 17-50 2.8. Magic bit of glass and substantially cheaper than the canon.
  20. What are the basic car requirements? I take it a roadworthy car is the main thing, but fire extinguishers? Catch can? Tow hook? Blue battery triangle? n00b questions I know, but I'm from a rallying background, not circuit racing, and like I said before, never ventured out for a track day.
  21. Is the 70-200 a 2.8? Canon's 70-200 2.8 L is regarded as one of their best lenses. Brilliant bit of gear.
  22. What camera gear were you using? Some nice photos, particularly like the last one of Petter.
  23. If youre desperate for a cheapy autosport should be under $100 for an open face. This will be my first track time too. Whats the format like?
  24. I got the trans go kit. Unless dad seriously cracks the shits, he will be fitting it with me doing the bitch jobs. And Jase, I do plan to change the turbo eventually, but want to do all the supporting mods first. When it blows I don't see the point in replacing it with a stocker.
  25. Yep, stock turbo and turbo back exhaust from AM performance. I've been concentrating on handling and repairs first, before serious power upgrades.
