What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?
bigkevracer replied to Hanso's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Well it didn't go off again all night, with the battery disconnected and all locked up. I do need my beauty sleep... all I can get! -

It's straight. I checked it when I fitted the Informeter. -

Thats really awesome. I'm guessing you should probably put a trans cooler in at the same time though. Thats going on my list, I'm a sucker for a gadget! -

Yeah you mentioned it, but I'd had no other reason to suspect battery. No obvious battery problems. I'll grab the battery tester and check it, but I can't see it being the cause. It's just gone off AGAIN so I've locked it and disconnected the battery. Do these things have a backup battery? Is it possible that could be the problem? -
Nismo 280Km/h Instrument Cluster For M35S
bigkevracer replied to bigkevracer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yeah not a stupid question Leon. I figured in these things the odo would be stored in the ECU or somewhere other than the dash. It's not. Car had 78,000 on it when I put the Nismo in, after was 65,000. So I've wound back the clock 13,000km, but I figure I have the original dash still, so it can be verified. And it's not as if I replaced it TO wind the clock back. -
Post A Pic Of Your Stagea Thread

That is the TV tuner remote sensor on the AC display. Right in the gap, works well I know what you mean with the screen, but I usually keep that screen closed so it doesn't bother me. That's why I was after a straight single DIN, but in the end the fold out screen video outputs to the factory screen so you don't even have to worry about the pop out. -
Jetwreck has a good one for sale, depends on what you want. I knew which options I wanted, and was looking at importing one, but then I found one for sale which was already imported. I was still the first Aus owner, but I didn't have the Jap hassles. Also depends how fussy you are What are you looking for?

I figured it must have been an after market mod, but doesn't bother me too much. I mean, who spends that much time looking that far down their dash?! As for alarm, got a few options, thanks for all the feedback. See if I can get something rigged up temporarily.

Sorry for the delay Sage, here you go... I'm not sure if I'm imagining things, but it seems to be more accurate than the stock dash. And looks awesome -

Finally got round to taking some photos of the Stag, since I don't think I've posted any up. I had cleaned it, and then got small flying insects all over the front of it... And the AV setup that Brad did last weekend... Stealth...ish... -
My wing mirror button looks half arsed anyway, looks pretty agricultural, just a push button with a cheap sticker on it.
-
Its going to be a hassle either way. Isn't it less hassle to just present and fix it if it gets rejected? Who did compliance? I thought anything that didn't meet ADRs had to be removed at compliance, hence all the good stuff usually got stripped?
-
Aren't the G35 buttons the same as the M35 and V35 ones? Series 1 anyway?
-
What alarm did you get fitted Dunc? I'd heard them recommended before, but I'll go through Brad (ducati02) for the install. He did a fantastic job on the stereo and is a real stickler for quality. Some would say obsessive with some of the finishing details on the stereo.

ARX springs are the same as those in a Navara or Pathfinder aren't they? -
SA reg doesn't go on tyre to guard distance though does it? It goes on lowest point to ground?

I was going to ask you if your handling issues could be related to stilts issues Haven't checked actually, didn't even occur to me. Will look into it. Thanks -
Not out of place Clint, good suggestion. Leon suggested electrical tape over the sensor to reduce the sensitivity, but does the M35 dealer option system have a sensitivity switch? Anyone know where? Not game tonight, too dark, will play tomorrow, but thanks for the suggestion. Long term, I'd rather not get tasered But yes, I get your point and I've already started looking into getting the option system gutted and replaced with an Aus standard system.

Lucky bastard. I think I've replaced the battery in every car I've had *touch wood* Mine is a Pitwork too, hoping it lives a long, happy, healthy life -
Thanks for the info Chris. Sounds like we're talking about two different things here. If they're just supposed to have an OZ standard immobiliser fitted, that probably has no impact on the alarm. To the best of my knowledge I still have the dealer option alarm fitted. Long term I'd done enough research to tell me I needed to replace it. I like the look of the Viper's, as I'm a bit of a gadget freak, but looking into them more they only do single point immobilisation, so no good. So based on my research I'll go with the Mongoose M80 I think. But short term, I'm going to be in Melbourne for almost a week so I just want the car to be secure while I'm away. Then when I get back I can organise a replacement. Short of locking it and disconnecting the battery it doesn't seem like there's a lot I can do. Lucky for me there'll be other cars in the driveway, so it won't be going anywhere, its just a matter of making sure the interior is fine.

Pfft... put the S-Tune's in! Much better look for you!

Why don't you lend him your stilts Dunc, no way he'll get rejected that way

[Sa] 1987 Nissan Pintara R31 Wagon
bigkevracer replied to bigkevracer's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Now with pics! Finally have some pics! Tow bar all setup, electrics have been tested and work fine. 15" Bluebird SSS wheels with Kenda Komet SPT-1 tyres. Good tread, and car has been wheel aligned so no feathering or tyre dramas whatsoever. Will consider splitting wheels and tyres. Also has new (~10,000 km old) Pedders Comfort Gas shocks all round. Cavernous boot, just like every other R31 Wagon. Gas struts are fine. There is a whole in the right hand side where the original owner had ONE 6x9 which wasn't connected correctly. Interior with Subaru WRX front buckets, Pioneer CD/MP3 player with AUX in (and cable), and Autotechnica leather steering wheel. You can also see the tweeters for the Polk Audio splits. New battery and terminal, put in within the last 12 months. Rebuilt engine has been regularly serviced, has done around 10-15k kms since it was rebuilt. New plugs, plug leads, oil, filters, coolant, thermostat, distributor, distributor cap, etc. All quality fluids. In addition to the above pics, will come with standard 14" steel wheels (if wanted), Jaycar 6x9s and new oxygen sensor. Price drop to $1700 ono with three months rego (til 14/8) and a full tank of fuel. I really just need it gone now, so will take offers or consider splitting. -
The one on the dash is the same, but I don't have the one on the B pillar. Weird. I've spoken to a couple of people and we were all under the impression that the original alarm had to be removed at compliance and replaced with an Australian standard immobiliser at a minimum, if not alarm too. Should I check with Northshore and see what they might have done?

Nice find Leon, good prices there. Just curious how you'd go with warranty though, could be a sticking point?
