  1. Thanks Leon. Have you got a photo of what you've got on the drives side top B pillar? I don't have anything there, but I do have something in the middle of the windscreen that looks kind of like a speaker. I think there was something at the top of the A pillar when I bought the car, but I removed it because I thought it was a microphone. Hopefully it wasn't that, although surely I would have had issues before now? I'll try some tape over the passenger side sensor and maybe over the thing on the windscreen too. Sounds like a good DIY temporary solution!
  2. In the link in iamhe77's signature about 2 posts up http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/299513-m35-vq25det-runner-spacer/
  3. Isn't there a video out option for the emanage you could use instead? I thought I read something about it...
  4. I expect we'll see a catch fence there next year... What about Mike Rockenfeller? Pretty bad too. The speed differential between the LMP1 and GT2 cars is insane, borders on completely dangerous.
  5. lol good point, need to clean my glasses! What did the Silk Roads end up costing by the time they got to you?
  6. Thanks Brendan, but I'm north and it's not worth going all that way just to run the tank empty by the time I get home According to the Caltex web site Salisbury Park and St Marys stock eflex too, but I guess its a practical thing - whats the point in running eflex if it's that hard to get? I have two Caltex servos conveniently close to me... is it that hard to put an eflex pump in?
  7. I ended up going for a Clarion VZ400A, which has DVD, CD, Bluetooth, iPod/USB, AV In/Out, Camera in and 7" fold out screen. Got it all wired in last weekend and it's a great unit! Highly recommended!
  8. Hi all. Over the past couple of days my standard alarm has been playing up and going off randomly. It's completely random, sometimes within short periods, sometimes it goes all day without an issue. Very weird... I've done some research on here and found that I have the factory optioned alarm with the sensor on the dash. Apparently this can be set off by wind etc, so I've made sure all the windows are up, sunroofs closed, etc. Long term, I think I'm better off replacing it. However I'm looking for a short term solution to tide me over for a couple of weeks, as I'll be too busy to get it fixed/installed. Has anyone had an issue like this fixed without replacing the alarm? I haven't changed anything, so I'm not sure what's going on...
  9. Yeah not driving across, flying in/out. Staying in Carlton Wednesday to Friday, then Narre Warren Saturday and Sunday.
  10. Looks awesome, keep us posted. I'm curious whether it can be lifted to a tolerable height for daily driving, and whether it can be adjusted soft enough not to kill you on suburban rodes. Do you have the Whiteline sway bars in yours?
  11. For Australian TV, Leon (Commsman) has some: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/356219-tv-tuners-once-again-the-new-asuka/ That's what I've got in my car, and its great! Highly recommended! Looks like a nice car, good buy!
  12. No problems Dale, thanks. I did actually drop a couple of hangers while we were doing the fitting. Not sure if its such an issue on cars with different exhausts, but it did just fit, so no issues. Took it for a hills run today and what a difference! Body roll is greatly reduced and turn in is much improved. Love it! Even the girlfriend noticed the difference! Thanks for your efforts Dale, much appreciated.
  13. I've seen some of those parts on Yahoo Auctions. Check out www.importmonster.com.au, then get Jesse Streeter to bring them in for you.
  14. There are some good ones in the links above. I've just taken mine out so I'm going to start measuring up and see what fits. I was looking at these: http://narva.com.au/products/detail/compac-100-hid-driving-lamp-kitbr-12-volt-35w-100mm-wide/noheaders/1/?KeepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=500&width=720&modal=true&parent=driving-fog-lamps-popup-layout I found out those, the HID versions, are $1k, but you can get the non HID version for around $100, and a HID conversion kit for $90. As long as they fit thats what I'll do, just need to measure up.
  15. I'm heading to Melbourne Wednesday afternoon, got work stuff on during the day Thursday and Friday, then free time till Monday afternoon. Any of the Melbourne Stag crowd want to catch up for a beer?
  16. Got these fitted today, look great, thanks Dale! Rear bar was an issue, not a lot of clearance around my exhaust, but it *just* fit! Front one was a bit of a bitch with the links and mounting points, but not too bad. No issues with rubbing/grinding. Are there adjustable links available for the front? So far I don't feel much of a difference, but going for a hills run tomorrow to see how it is on a windy road. I have a feeling my stuffed stock shocks won't be helping the situation, so have to bump coilovers up the list... I didn't end up getting the adjustable rear toe arms installed. Dad and I did the install in his workshop and he recommended I get them to fit it when I next get a wheel alignment. I think I'll do that in the next week or two, as we did notice some feathering on the rear tyres that we didn't notice at the service around 1000-2000 km ago.
  17. Well I have the left hand fog light assembly completely removed, so I can start looking for a suitably sized replacement light. If I was to chase someone local to make fibreglass/carbon fibre light surrounds, how many people would be interested? As an aside, the Narva HIDs I was looking at were $1k, so I'm looking at going Narva spotlights for ~$100 and a HID conversion kit for ~$90. $190 HIDs sound a lot better than $1k HIDs, and I really think with the driving I do spotlights will be better than fog lights.
  18. Not sure about other aftermarket mufflers, but I know most standard ones use baffles and other restrictions to lessen noise. Running a straight through pipe with sound deadening material around it should be the go if you use enough sound deadening. I will get the noise down, once the bigger muffler is in we'll work out if we need to add another. Andrew prides himself on his work, and after having the car on the hoist today you can really see it. Sounds like a few people are interested, so I'll get some group buy info. I am still genuinely interested in the argument of bellmouth vs split dump? I have no idea, so I'm curious on the pros/cons of each?
  19. Pics! Ben's taken your car out of stock, so we can't look at that link
  20. Looks good Robbie. Caught up with Luke this evening, ready to go for your photo shoot tomorrow, looks like the car will be sorted
  21. I was running the United 100 octane E10 and found a substantial difference in my car, car seemed all round happier and fuel economy was consistent (no idea why, figured it'd be down). When it got removed from sale I contacted United, and to their credit they got back to me very quickly. Contrary to what the bloke at the servo told me, their 98 has no ethanol (it used to before the 100 came out). They've run out of ethanol because of the Queensland floods apparently and expect to get it back later this month. Then it should be available at all the servos. Scotty, good suggestion but I'm yet to find a Caltex in Adelaide that stocks Eflex DAMMIT! You can still only get E85 from specailised race fuel suppliers, although there may be a couple of other servos that stock it now. I have no idea why you Mexicans get it and we don't...
  22. I don't have any gear to do that... anyone in Adelaide want to test it?
  23. I'll make some inquires, if anyone knows of someone who can do that in Adelaide please let me know.
  24. Andrew builds his mufflers slightly differently. Instead of the traditional route, he uses sound deadening material around the outside. It does work, but he just needed to use more of it. Lessens restriction and gives a better sound.
  25. You haven't even heard it yet Dunc! Have to show you. When are you back?
