Im up for a feed before the run. Also would be good to put some faces to the cars before hand, since I'm new. So anyone up for a bite to eat at the Gap Village, say at 7pm? (This is pretty much on the way to the Mt Nebo run - its on Waterworks Rd). There is a coffee Club there, Maccas, and a Cafe at the very least. For the regular Mt Nebo runners, where do you guys normally meet up before heading together up to Nebo? A Dead end road somewhere or BP on waterworks road, depending on numbers? So first proposal - meet up at 7 at The Gap Village Coffee Club. The Gap Cafe Bar Restaurant Shop 30, 1000 Waterworks Rd THE GAP QLD 4061 - (07) 3300 6782 Open to alternative ideas.

    My Introduction

Just did the run to Mt Nebo (Up to the cafe there) today. Cant go past that run for a good mixture of curves and straights. Im keen for somewhere west - havent been west lately. I remember there were some nice roads Going Crows Nest (Blue Mountain Heights) back to bris.
  6. Thanks will shop around for front/dump pipes. Will keep batmbl ones in mind though. Are most front/dump pipes equal though as long as u get a split dump? How restrictive is the stock cat, say if i upgraded just the front dump pipe and use stock cat?
  7. Thanks for the offer Mark. Ive currently got the ARC FMI cooler that uses the stock pipes. p.s Nice GTR btw - If only I had that kind of cash lying around Id snap it up straight away. In my opinion perfect colour. I was hoping to get a heat shield over the pod to block a lot (not all) of the warm engine air. Just wondering where I would get one (I have seen pictures of some ppls engine bays with them) I know its not as good as a fully enclosed alum box, but Its better than nothing.
  8. Some trivial questions for you guys. Looking at completing my exhaust. I have an a/f cat back system (w/ 2 mufflers). Was looking at upgrading the front/dump pipe and the cat. 1. Just curious if most front/split dump pipes are equal? Was planning on going to the local exhaust shop and picking up what they have on offer. Otherwise I know bablm has his ones sold for $380. 2. Also is it worth getting a new high flow cat, or just gut the stock one? Any disadvantages using a stock gutted cat? 3. WIth a high flow cat, its a given that the exhaust will be louder keeping all other things equal right? I want to keep my exhaust the way it is - quiet but deep.
  9. Just wondering, a quick, cost effective and easy way on feeding the pod colder air. I have the standard factory piping and there isnt much room in the bottom right part of the engine bay. I was thinking of getting some heat resistant foam/material and pop it over the pod, and hold it on (zip ties?). Does anyone have a better idea of what they have done? If you have any picts of the setup it would be great if you can post them too. Thanks
  10. I may be able to finally rock up to one of these dinners and meet a few faces. I haven't been to My Thai, but from the menu looks like they have a huge menu to choose from. For Thai food I'd recommend Thai Orchid at 45 Little Cribb St Milton 4064. Quite good food there and they have plenty of parking. Also we can fight over what we want to order before we get there - see the menu at http://www.thethaiorchid.com.au/2.html. I don't mind either place though, as I'm always up for new restaurants.

  13. Just wondering what you guys would recommend to take off the GTST sticker on the boot of the car, without doing any damage to the paint?

  16. Hey All, I have been reading these forums for a while and getting some helpful information out of it. I thought it's time to introduce myself, as I'm keen to meet up with other Brisbane Enthusiasts. Andy is the name. I have had my R32Gts-t for just under a year (Pretty much of the boat) and am in the process of tidying bits and pieces, as it seems like it previously hasn't been used for a while. It has got the standard bolt ons, boost controller, aftermarket nismo shock/spring combo and Adjust castor rods. Not looking to spend huge $$ on this thing as Id prob uprade to another base in a couple of years time. The next mods to finish it off is prob installing a front dump pipe, and then retuning the stock ecu to make it drive nicely. Not looking at huge HP at this stage, rather aim for a nice smooth/responsive drive that handles well, but more importantly learn how to use the thing! Down the track I would love to try it out on the track and also see what some of you more experienced drivers can do. Have been doing a few mountain runs and getting used to using the gears. Just the other week I took it for a drive around the Sunshine Coast hinterland (see pict below) to stretch its legs, after not using it for a month. Loving it more and more, the more i drive it. Main reason I wanted to get Jap import is to get my hands dirty and do a lot of the maintenance work myself. It's better stuffing up on a jap car, where parts are abundant and reasonably cheap, before I get into the Euros. I have done a lot of the very basic things - oil changes, filter changes, pod, removal of radiator (as my top tank decided to sh@t itself). What I'm keen to learn how to do, is to Flush/bleed the coolant and brakes, as well as installing suspension, for starters. If anyone is doing any of these soon, on their car, and don't mind company, I wouldn't mind taking a look at how it's done. Send us a Pm. On a different note, as time permits I will eventually rock up to one of those dinners that are organised. Otherwise if you consider yourself an ok tennis player, and live around the South-west side of Bris, wouldn't mind having a hit with ya on a weeknight. Send us a PM - might be able to get a small group together if there is enough interest, and hire a couple of courts. Can play at UQ-St Lucia unless anyone can suggest another venue. Anyway, hope to meet some of ya's around. Andy
