Im still looking around of a nice skyline and a better bonus is i can afford to have full comp because im moving in with my dad. Im a school drop out but work full time in an apprenticeship so its not like i work 18 hrs at maccas a week and relying on that.

Im doing an apprenticeship, never get bored with it or anything. 9 months in i think and i have 2 regrets. Not dropping out earlier and not studying a tafe course so i could chop a year off my apprenticeship. i spose if your under the age of 35 most places will still hire you. I love my apprenticeship and cant wait to be a tradesman Edit:Ryanrb25 is right, if i wasnt so far into my trade and didnt like it i would do fitting and turning. You can do so much with it.

Auto or Manual?

My dad is a panel beater and what he does is you get some special putty, you can get it from autobarn, Spread it over then sand it back with a orbital sander, then go over that with really fine sandpaper and water. Then paint it the greyish primer sort of stuff then paint your colour and clear coat;)

Well i have found some insurance that is exspensive but not overally exspensive and i can afford it. Just cars quoted me on 2700 on a R33 96 model skyline GTST:). Now i just have to wait for a loan lol...

Actually DJ Brave that post was helpful. The reason i posted in the firstplace here was to find what negative feed back id get and so far its good because its not stupid stuff like because your a male or anything. I do have a decent income and it gets better each year ( apprenticeship). I also have a rwd car that my dad got me to learn in when i first got my learners a Holden Commodore lol. And ever since i was a lil pecker i drove go karts:). But yeah im going to try and get something half decent for when i get my p's. Any suggestions on a different car that is nice but would be good for me.

Lol yep, iv driven a v8 and a supercharged car, i just dont know anyone with a turbo that would let me drive it. I dont want a done up skyline though, just a stocko r33 turbo:) (i know it still goes)

See thats the problem, if the new laws kick in, in july 07 p plates cant get v8's,superchargers or turbos until they are 25 i think, it may be younger but im pretty sure its 25. So i gotta get my dream car before july.

Ok i think i have a hard thing to pull off here but im going to try. I'm almost 17 in march and thats when i can get my p's. I want to get a skyline, 180sx, soarer or something nice like that. Problem is insurance, money and my parents. I think i might be able to get money to get a R33 (hopefully) from a loan off my mum. But insurance is going to kill me. I want to at least get third party insurance and i would like to get full comprehensive insurance but its just too exspensive. Do any of you guys know of a good insurer besides justcars that is ideal for a person in my situation. Also i need to figure out what car would be best for me, i really want a turbo but i really havent got much skills in mechanics all i know how to do is change the oil and oil filter on a basic commodore. Any suggestions on what car i should get and why would be helpful and also good insurers:). Thanks guys. btw i live in QLD.. so the difference in laws and w/e.
