I advise anyone going big in a r34 to get a new fuel rail and good nismo injectors.. Seems greddy arnt to good either!! Having random knocking when loading up in 4th but I was trying to race a motorbike (I gave up at 145 knock) Im at 260 and nismo 480s will max out at 250ish .. Sard or Blitz would be your only option id go the blitz get them cleaned and perhaps up fuel presure.

Spotted Sheng at Unigroup.. But you already know that! Shoot Dahtone Racing a pm about what we talked about.

A couple of things. Stay away from sydney - Get an alarm if your already here. Get one with a turbo timer built in! Alot of skylines go missing, please listen to this advice. The horn is due to it grounding when you turn, you need to take the wheel off to fix it. The clicking may be related. Get a pro to do the horn if you have an airbag attached. Sound system has protection mode, this means it has in built amp and turns off to avoid frying speakers (if amp cant power them they melt) or secondly to avoid frying itself. This is often related to air flow so tie up the cables behind it, obviously it may be over heating Cheers Nathaniel

Further investigation on other vehicles suggests its a rooted starter. How do starters work as im expecting the cable to badly connected or similar. I know they would be grounded and positive somewhere its just checking connections. Supposedly the starter requires more power when it absorbs heat, this inturn needs a bigger current when warm which it cant draw because of either clutch dust or bad connections. The reason it wont start when stopped for the first hour is because the heatsheild blocks most heat but cant resist it for more than 30 mins or so. Sounds like total crap I know but its actually true, alot of people have exactly the same problem in almost every single car even out of factory brand new! Now I just need spare time and a hoist. Crap!

I Need More Power! But Of The Electrical Kind...
DECIM8 replied to frozenwaffles's topic in General Maintenance
Get a capacitor or perhaps a secondary battery. By the sounds of it id either try a replacement battery first and run bigger grounds (im sure yours are 12+ years old) for dimming grounding is often the issue. If this all fails your alternator is rooted. -
doesnt matter what oil I used.. Thanks for the idea however. Ive used royal purple and motul turbo light so far. FYI its a full CAI system. Tuner thinks its vapor lock??????????

no its a cold start issue really or to be exact warm start because when its hot it fires easily. And fires on a cold start but wont turn over for abit on a warm start lol

Hey guys, Im getting pissed with this engine problem, Ive put it off until now but now its just painful. Just so you know I had my belts changed along with a endless amount of parts so its hard to pinpoint the issue. The problem is a slow start every time I park the car and turn it off for 1-5 hours more than that and it has no issue starting. The engine will take 4-6 seconds to fire and I will try ignite, stop and go again more often than not its 3 attempts to turn it over. This then greats me with a mid idle not the typical starting warm up idle. It can often just fire cylinders slowly as if cylinders ignite one by one very slowly. Saying this when I walk out to start the car in the am before work she fires with no issue.??! Im aiming at a few items. Alternator - Its an R34 alternator so I find this hard to believe, I had no issues before this time and the car will not stall and holds a steady charge even when sound system is thumping for 30mins or so.. I dont feel that it can be faulty if its still doing its job. Starter - The clutch was changed in this procedure so Im thinking it may be this, How extactly do these work could it perhaps be a weak voltage drop to this item? Belts - I fitted gates belts when I start the car I notice the power slowly raises stops then continues from 12v to 14.8 or close Im thinking when cold they shrink which is great for long term in the short term they sqeek so loudly when it fires and are so tight they dont spin correctly on ignition. Perhaps they are stopping it cranking correctly. So Fuel pump, installed it when stock had no issues like this. Eliminated. Injectors - checked Sparks - Brand new powered with spitfires. So my money is on starter but what does someone else think?

Hey mate.. What do you have to service you can slide under the car for the oil and dont need to jack her up. Just get a 8L oil drain and yours set. put down some cardboard tho. Filter you can do ontop, all the rest of the fluids your fine minus transfluids. If you jack up a car on grass your an absolute idiot. I did a whole exhaust on a stock jack and a set of 9.5 rims just think before you work. Dont let people be hanging around. saying this i advise car stands or at least ramps

What thermo stat do you use? 92-93 is rather high if your using a R33 thermostat it should open at 76 and hold 80-84 degrees? Nice info tho!

Check the exhuast hangers. Whole exhaust could be hanging from onel.

An engineers cert is $800 bux.. Stop doing burnouts for a month and youve got yourself a engineers cert.. Whoever things a cert is expensive is full of crap! Ive spent more on a intercooler like it was a 30c cone at maccas.

Wasnt me but my old man blew a hole through his foot with a 1500hp sand blaster which firstly went through his steel cap like butter. I figured that would have hurt a tad.

Would This Pod Cover/air-box Be The Shit?...or Just Shit?
DECIM8 replied to superspit's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Plastic is better than metal as it doesnt radiate heat. I once saw a ingenious idea to run PVC pipes from front bar, then to a pot plant .. air goes in hole and directly into the filter looked like another stock part cant get much better than that ghetto mod. Personally I use a metal box with stock snorkel with a clear lid.. In sydney pod filters are illegal unless boxed. In general they are illegal for noise. Jaye U have pm -
Is this thread for real? The quote above are you for real? WTF is wrong with you both? Burnouts are only allowed for commonwhores. Illegal U turns are let to useless taxi drivers. Your both idiots.

Mate they all do the same thing. Some people just find the flashing led neon crap ones are more interesting. In melb I believe the rule is pod or FMIC .. not both. FYI people do anything to sell a product.. -
