Turbo brakes are two pot calipers which means two pistons clamp down on the brake pads which are fitted either side of the vented disc brake. In the non turbo case, the brakes are single piston which means your brakes are basically half as good. Im not to sure if the pads are only one side as its a new car (most after 2000 come with double sided pads) but It may be single sided pad (doubt it tho)
In regards to the turbo brakes the disc is alot bigger obviously, even the rear disc on the gtt is bigger than that. bigger disc better braking/faster cooling. hope that helps
