  1. At this rate, we really need a sticky in the SA section with the name .. INSTALL A CAR ALARM, USE CLUB LOCKS & GET CAR INSURANCE
  2. There are aftermarket options too: http://www.enjukuracing.com/isis-replaceme...sor-p-9085.html
  3. That sounds a bit weird to me. The airbox has a hole on the side for intake, and the box is pretty deep - so it should easily be able to drain out or at worst sit at the bottom. The N14 airbox works opposite to skyline one too - with air coming in the bottom and into the engine through the filter at the top, so I would have thought it would be pretty hard to get hydrolock? Never had any issues in my N14 - it used to run a pod, gone back to the panel. I drove it through a semi-flood in Melbourne a few years ago when was a foot of water going across the highway - handled it perfectly (was using a pod filter back then).
  4. It's an ADR breach not to run a steering wheel without an airbag - you've removed a safety feature of the car. The same goes for having a horn - can you blame them for 'singling you out'? Try a wrecker and see if they'll lend you one out - a lot of them will help with getting cars off of defect (for a fee).
  5. hmmm .. maybe I need to get me a SAU:SA sticker .. might get spotted more ..
  6. No signs of yellowing yet - but it's still early days. What I found interesting is I've never had yellowing issues on my drivers-side light, only the passenger side - perhaps one has been changed in Japan before I bought the car, or maybe one's had the coating scrubbed off at some point from over-zealous polishing - who knows. I plan on keeping this thread updated, if I see yellowing return tho - never fear
  7. Never understood the SA obsession with FUIC .. As an outsider, I guess I never will
  8. Only if you turn on / use the feature - having the feature doesn't make it illegal. Most of these alarms are sold in multiple markets where they're not so strict.

    Hey

Hmmm yeah I just tried Just Cars if I owned a Stagea - heaps cheaper. Weird. Anyways - yeah - hope it's fairly close to stock. If you need to get more than a simple check ID at Regency (ie: pits) it can be a major headache. Check out the SA part of the forum (defects, etc), for other peoples experiences.
  10. I've only got a high-flow panel and 3" turbo-back exhaust - my car sure isn't at 5/7psi any more. Low is about 7psi (0.5 bar), high is about 9 psi (0.63 bar) - my boost gauge is in bar, so yeah, converted it back for you.

    Hey

It's about what I pay for an R34 GTT, and I'm also female, rating 1 and 10 years older - seems a bit strange to me... but eh. I hope you don't have any dramas bringing it back for Regency after compliance either. Any mods to it are gonna make your life hard. Hope you've done your homework on imports/Regency etc.
  12. As many threads will already state - turbo timers are illegal to use in Australia. Just drive slow for the last coupla minutes of the journey and let it cool down. For reference: ADR 25: Turbo timers are not to be fitted to vehicles manufactured on or after 1 January 1972 (ADR 25 Anti- Theft Locks). ADR 25 requires that the normal function of the engine only occurs when the ignition lock is in the engine on position.
  13. Mental illness ftl .. I'm a headcase. heh.

    R34s...please!

Nice, got any more? (and hiigher res..)
  15. Hrmmm it's a while away and I'm a social retard, but why not - sign me up.
  16. Don't suppose you'd separate the foglights in the front bar?
  17. Speaking of jobs - I just got my first paycheck after end-of-financial year pay eval .. woot .. so happy to see some extra $$$ on my fortnightly paycheck
  18. You have to pull the whole switch apart to get at the bulb to replace it. Mine didn't work when I bought the car either. Trust me - it's supposed to light up. Here are some pictures of it that I've just taken:
  19. The hazard switch is supposed to light up - that one isn't - it's a 'grain of wheat' bulb or something. I know, cos I had to replace mine.
  20. Hey guys, I had a flare in my car when I bought it - but it was confiscated by a Regency inspector when I took it for a defect clearance. I'm trying to find aonther one to replace it to keep it factory. I'm in SA - anyone have one laying around they wanna get rid of?
  21. Whacky Dee - you should fix the bulb in your hazard switch too
  22. ... now if only they could do something similarly sexy for GTS-T/GT-T ..
  23. Just punched my car into Just Cars website, as a 33-yo female driver (rating 1) with no claims, no points off my license, perfect history driving an R34 GTT Sedan - they'll do $14k value at $1,044/yr .. uhh .. LOL ... no. What I don't get the above driver is probably only just off their P's at 19, would be considered a rating what - 4? .. Yet can manage $1500 for an R34 GTR? .. Doesn't smell right. I punched similar details onto Justcars website and they said closer to $1900, but even that seems a bit low. Eh, who knows - maybe Just Cars really will just insurance young kids for cheap. Sure wasn't like that when I was younger. Eh, either way I'm sticking with my Shannons with $28K agreed at $1250/yr.
  24. o.O ... that really doesn't sound right.
