  1. It may be that there was something wrong before with a really heavy clutch pedal that has now resolved itself. I have a heavy duty exedy clutch in my car, and it feels about as heavy to the foot as the factory clutch. Certainly nothing like the crazy eXtreme clutch I used to have fitted to my N14 SSS that was a complete ass to drive in traffic. If you're concerned - take it to a brake/clutch specialist and get them to drive it and put it up on the hoist to check master/slave cylinder - they'll probably do it for free. At least then you have some professional advice.
  2. Most of this conversation is around R32 which use a hydraulic system which is also related to power-steering (uses the same reservoir, etc. The R33/34 use electric actuators, not hydraulic system - so a lot of the comments, etc aren't applicable.
  3. Or you could fix the issue with the gauges... Typically the boost gauge messes up because of a split vacuum line coming out of the plenum of dry-joint in the MAP sensor (about 30 seconds to fix). The factory MAP sensor itself is surprisingly accurate, it's just a shame the gauge itself doesn't display particularly accurately because it's not linear and doesn't have adequate markings. The voltage gauge shouldn't break, and the oil temp sensor would only require a new sender (should be easy enough to pick up).
  4. hmmm will have to take a peek. My latest HPI arrived last night and i've only had a chance to read Kristian's article so far ..
  5. Odd - my iPhone (3G) has never been crashy, laggy or had issues. Mine is non-jailbroken (to the amusement of all my IT work collegues). I also only have about 6 apps installed. I typically use it for phone, SMS, email and the occasional eBook. It does all I need it to, and well. Better than any WM-based phone I've ever used (and I've used more than a few).
  6. Wish the girl would get out of the road so you can see more of the car. Not sure I like the blue color much either...
  7. My biggest worry with that approach is the lack of a free-flowing exhaust. IEBC with no fmic or exhaust? sounds like a bad idea.. skip the nistune - go exhaust, then EBC & nistune after to clean up the tune.
  8. When I was defected for my exhaust being too loud, the cop used a special device to measure the tint on the front and rear windows. Added the rear factory privacy glass to the defect report saying Regency should check it because it measured 18%. Regency inspector didn't even bother checking it (laughed at the cop when I mentioned it being on the list) because he realised it was built into the glass (which is legal). BUT this does show that if the cop is pulling you over the check the car over, he may very well have the equipment to check your tint, etc.
  9. Would you consider seperating the compressor? Any idea what a fair price is? I guess I'll also need a quote on postage to 5025...
  10. I'm a bit stunned how many people want defectable / illegal tint
  11. I bought a pair of them from the same seller - and subsequently sent them back (back then his eBay page didnt say 'coupe only' and he didn't know whether it would fit) Simple answer - they don't fit r34 sedans.
  12. Yeah - if you have a dead indicator bulb - your other indicators will blink more rapidly. Definitely sounds like a dodgy bulb (filament could be loose or on the way out), or some sort of dodgy connection (earth/etc). I'd probably start by changing the bulb and seeing if that fixes it...
  13. Here's an attempt of my car: I'm not very happy with the rear wing, seats or the exhaust, but it's a reasonoable representation ..
  14. Isn't +6-+7 really high like 13-14psi? Is this the standard turbo & tuning?
  15. Keep us appraised I'm real curious to see what you come up with on the sedans - especially if you can do something for the reverse lights / blinkers which sit below the round lights .. (most Japanese versions I've seen set up square clusters of LEDs there)
  16. Dan, Any pics to compare parkers vs brakes? As a side-note it almost seems like there's too many leds in the smaller inner ring (looks much brighter in comparison to the larger outer ring)
  17. I've had similar problems in my R34, and whilst the R32 system is hydraulic, I'd assume it's reasonably similar. What you'll probably need to do is set the front steering rack straight (so that the steering wheel angle sensor is straight), then put the steering wheel on straight, then reset the system (disconnect battery). That should make it re-learn where HICAS is. If the mechanic is unsure about setting the front steering rack straight to the steering wheel, you might be best to go see Nissan and get the car put on CONSULT. They can read the steering angle sensor from HICAS and advise/adjust appropriately. Alternatively, you can do as the previous poster said - and just replace with a lock-bar - but that may have legal / engineering implications.
  18. As a first-timer to watching the drift-practice, I was a bit stunned about some of the behavior of a number of the cars doing donuts straight after spinning out - I saw at least two occasions where it ended in near accident, and too many more where it held up the entire track because of the huge white cloud obscuring visibility. As someone merely observing, I'm unaware of whether marshalls bother reprimanding people doing that (or other silly behavior) but I sure hope so.
  19. I've been meaning to get my R34 fronts done since the new tinting laws came into effect in January - so if there's a group-buy, seems like a good opportunity
  20. I can't believe someone's beem as dodgy to use what looks like push-bike parts to make a door actuator work instead of just mounting it in a different spot and using a standard rod approach ...
  21. Wouldn't it be better to approach an existing sponsor like Auto Perfection?
  22. Almost makes me wish I hadn't put in an MFD instead of the 3 gauges .. but not quite .. tehehe.
  23. It's typical media sensationalism - all to try and stand behind the views that hoons in cars are bad and that imports are part of that - and we should all support local vehicles... ugh.
  24. Yeah - japanese toll system card. Lots of cars have these in-built I believe.
  25. What condition is the carpet in? Is it the same color between GT and GTT? Postage cost to 5025? Do you have the passenger-side rear door factory actuator?
