  1. Problem is still the cars haven't been complianced with xenons and no compliance ticket for the cars with xenons. I'm sure someone like IronChef can jump in and clarify about the compliancing aspect. I suspect that would mean you'd really be looking at engineering what's essentially retrofitting of xenons to a non-xenon vehicle - which would mean going through the whole engineering process. Probably more money than it's worth.
  2. They could just be regular globes - like optiblue or whatever. Easiest way to find out is to look at the housing (is 'xenon' written on it), and then look at the globe itself to see if its a D2R type. Sure, they are on cars sold in Australia - for the R33/34 they are not, and they're supposed to be removed at compliance time. To meet ADRs the xenons would need to have auto-leveling and washers. These cars have neither, and will not meet ADRs. If you try and pass your car through Regency with Xenons you will be almost certainly be pinged for them (I sure was). The excuse of 'well I bought my car that way' doesn't cut the mustard either. Pretty sure these are the relevant ADRs, but I'm sure someone more knowledgable can confirm.
  3. Even factory xenons are not legal, and will not pass through Regency. I know this from experience when I tried to get my car through Regency with Xenons. The police may not know/care, but if you get through Regency, you will have a bad day. Cars fitted with these headlights from the factory are typically modified during compliance time to support regular (non-xenon) globes.
  4. Don't suppose you're interested in doing anything for R34 sedans? Alternatives are to get 'em from Japan for about $1000
  5. Are they just a seven-sided nut - like the nismo ones or do they actually have a lock-nut?
  6. I have a 52mm ISC on mine - shroud and fan fit. It's tight, and the air-conditioning stuff needed to be moved slightly but it fits fine
  7. I apologise if I thought the camber on that vehicle was purely cosmetic - the stylisation of the picture, and the context of a car in Japan - I think it's a pretty easy mistake to make - especially given the lack of information provided about the vehicle. To my mind, this simply looked like a car in Japan that nisskid liked that was part of the camber/stance scene in Japan (that I understand to be quite popular, based on magazines/online articles I've read). Personally, I think that - in the right context - the stance/high-camber look is pretty sweet for purely cosmetic reasons - though it wouldn't pass muster in Australia due to police. But as I said in my earlier comment - to each their own. Either way, it seems as though you guys are more familiar with the car - and that it has a purpose in this instance. Obviously cars that are used in drifting tend to use large amounts of camber. Any more information on it available?
  8. Different people have different opinions - I don't see it's any reason to get upset or start slinging insults around. Some people don't see a point in the 'stance' or 'big camber' movement, whilst others love it. At the end of the day, it's just a thing of personal taste - though I can see how Dohmar's reply could be seen as a criticism or personal attack.
  9. I'm receiving email notifications - but the subject is now the person who made the post, rather than the topic which is kinda confusing.
  10. If it's not done correctly it could go to infinite boost or 5psi. Personally, I would not trust the factory gauge - whilst the boost sensor reads accurately, it's impossible to get an accurate measure on the actual boost you're reading. If you are hitting 0.8 bar that's 11.6psi - which may be on the high-side. With a 3" exhaust & FMIC - without this modification - I was hitting around 8-8.5psi through the mid-range. Even with a 3.5" exhaust, I wouldn't have thought you'd be hitting 11.6psi - but maybe it is. I ended up fitting a 10psi R32 actuator to get a steady 10psi (0.68 bar) - which is safe on the factory turbo. I quickly hit R&R when I let the factory boost solenoid connected as well so this was dropped. Either way - yeah, maybe temporarily (or permanently) drop an aftermarket boost gauge on there, I'd be surprised you not hitting R&R if you are hitting 11.6 psi..
  11. Yeah I thought maybe 4-door spoiler, but wasn't 100%
  12. Looks nice and tidy and stock.. good work Any plans for it? Only weird thing it looks like the GT badge on the side is blue in that picture.
  13. I ended up fitting a 52mm ISC radiator to mine - direct drop in - and they're SAU affiliated for discounts. Ordered in the morning, arrived that afternoon. Temperatures on my R34 have now stablised on really hot (45C) days when stuck in traffic, and pretty much don't get above 90C even when pushing it through the hills. I couldn't ask for more.
  14. How'd you go with pictures of the parts
  15. Let me try again. Do you know the paint code for the panels? Do you have any pictures of the bonnet? Where are you located?
  16. The nismo bodykit doesnt have a lip or even provision for one: The aero/altia kit - the lip is in-built You're after the nissan factory-option lip (I have one on my car). Note, there are two types - one for turbo and one for non-turbo (allows for the vent on the passenger side of the bar). The picture you've included is of the non-turbo type. Either way, knowing the right words/search terms might help find one. Took me about 3-4 years of searching to pick up a genuine one second-hand, but I've seen them come up a lot more in the last 12 months than they used to. You can pick them up in fibreglass from places like carmate.
  17. Hey, Do you know if this is an R33 or R34/OP6 turbo?
  18. There's already a DIY thread about exactly this - fixing up the dry solder joints in the boost sensor.
  19. Do you know the paint code for the panels? Do you have any pictures of the bonnet? Where are you located?
  20. 18x8.5" +30 on the front & 18x9.5" +38 on the rear for me (nismo lmgt4 rim) Car is lowered to minimum legal in SA (about 345mm from middle of rim to guard). No issues at all on the rear with 255/35R18. Fronts are a tighter fit even with 245/40R18 - they scrub on full lock going over speed humps, driveways, etc. I'm probably going to raise the front a little to help that.
  21. Motul 8100 xmax is 10w40.
  22. I recently ordered a set of nismo s-tune stripes for mine from http://www.acromann.com/product_info.php?products_id=234 They're obviously not genuine, but they look reasonable. I haven't got around to putting them on my car yet, I wanted to get a professional to apply them to ensure it was done right.
  23. WTB CAS Sensor R34 GTT. According to the web, its model 23731-5L30A which fits: Nissan Skyline R33 GTS25 (RB25DE) / GTS25-t (RB25DET) / GTS-4 (RB25DE) Nissan Skyline R34 GT (RB20DE Neo 6) / 25GT (RB25DE Neo 6) / 25GT-4 (RB25DE Neo 6) / 25GT-t (RB25DET Neo 6) / GTR (RB26DETT) Tried to go down to JIS this afternoon, but despite their website saying closing time at 3pm, turned up a little after 2pm and closed up.
  24. Taking MegaUpload down was pretty legit in my opinion - and it also goes to prove why SOPA/PIPA are totally unnecessary - the government already has provisions to take these sites down. Here's a rundown from reddit.com: Seems pretty solid to me - the owners of the site did majorly wrong.
