  1. Reading this I realised that as I want to getting into track work at some point that this would be a good addition to my car - but then I started contemplating defects & Regency. Our cars are a big enough defect magnet without adding something that is gonna cause more woe - and almost everything I'd read had shown most catch cans seemed to be defectable and very illegal. But then I saw: ... But noticed they're pretty much RB26 only (at least based on the description), and that if it did fit to an RB25 that it would stand out as a defect magnet and require removing the engine cover off of an R34 RB25DET (like mine). Are there any other options in a similar vein that would fit an R34 RB25 (without removing the cover preferably) and that aren't gonna be so obvious whilst still remaining legal?
  2. Did you have a camber kit fitted when the Bilsteins were fitted? Generally speaking putting on lowered suspension means the camber is *way* out which could be affecting your handling ... A wheel alignment place should be able to tell you this ...
  3. Think I saw that one too, but i'm pretty sure it went for *way* more than I would have considered paying for it .. lol ..
  4. Spotted about 6:30pm this afternoon a purple R33 GTR following me along Tapleys Hill Rd till I turned off down Henley Beach Rd ... Car looked quite tidy.
  5. Doesn't this still require cutting to the reo - which you could get defected for?
  6. Any reason you'd want to take the LEDs out? Personally (especially having followed SLY-34 the other day with LEDs) i think it looks *sweet*
  7. Well, today's lil' drive for me (similar to last night's, just longer - god I love the roads up Gorge Rd & Lobethal rd and the like .. ) spotted a few more skylines - bayside blue R34 with what looked like a carbon bonnet on the way out to the hills, and a yellow R34 with LED rear lights on the way back ... (Guessing I shouldn't mention number-plates - custom or not) ...
  8. After driving through Gorge Rd/Corkscrew went through the city and then hit Glenelg about 11:30pm and followed a white r32 on Jetty rd who was loving boosting it up on the tram tracks Surprisingly didn't see many Skylines when I was out last night, was kinda disappointed ...

    Cruise

Oh well, guessing it's prolly a bit late now As much as I did the Gorge Rd run then back to the city, down to Glenelg and back through the city and home last night out of boredom, i'm still boredddd
  10. I'm not new to this site, been mostly lurking for the last ~2 years or so .. .. Contemplating whether I should be getting more into cruises and hanging around with SAU-type folk more ...
  11. From what I understand of South Australia (where I live), getting sent to Regency to have your car checked over is fairly common - especially when the car is obviously modified (mine is - lowered with bilsteins and 3" exhaust are the obvious ones). At that point, they're going to check over the entire car - see the HICAS lock-bars and tell me to fix/replace it - or ask me where the engineering certificate is. I don't really feel like dealing with that situation, I'd rather just have the HICAS system working. I don't really drive on the track or hard enough to justify removing it for those reasons, and I actually find in 'normal' situations it helps with ease of driving than being a hindrance. I'm kinda disappointed with anyone having any useful responses or caveats or *anything* on how I'm gonna go about lining up the front steering/wheel tyres without CONSULT or any issues related to removing the steering wheel with an airbag.... Jenna
  12. Hiyas, I've read and searched through the forum numerous times, but I'm unable to find anyone with the exact same situation I am with my HICAS - so I figured I'd try a post. Back in July whilst driving between Adelaide and Melbourne - on the highway I would find that as my speed increased from about 60 that my steering wheel would start to roll to the right until it was quite turned by approximately 100. When I hit the 110kph stretch, the car lurched violently and the rear-end started wobbling crazily and settled down until my speed came back under 110. This was obviously a pretty crazy experience and not one i wanted to repeat. I had some intuition that it might be HICAS related, so I pulled over and ripped the HICAS fuse out. Sure enough - the steering was now dead straight and no craziness on the 110 marker (where I can only assume HICAS was turning itself off). On returning from my trip to Melbourne, I took the car into a Nissan dealer who hooked my car up CONSULT and told me that apparently my car thought that when the wheel was at about a 60 degree angle to the right that the HICAS computer thought that the wheel was straight. As this Nissan dealership had no aligning equipment, he then proceeded to give me a written set of instructions to take to a wheel aligner to try and remedy this situation; Basically along the lines of: a) Straighten steering wheel to 0 degrees as per CONSULT / HICAS (not too sure how an aligner is gonna do that without CONSULT?!) b) Take steering wheel off and put it back on straight c) Do something with steering rack to make the wheels straight as per the steering wheel d) Get a complete wheel alignment to ensure everything is now spot on Now this just seems nuts to me, and I honestly haven't had time to track down how I'm supposed to fix this. Right now I can either drive with the fuse in and find the car difficult to drive above about 60 or take the fuse out and find that the rear end is loose because there's no HICAS. I do have a CONSULT cable, but obviously none of the free software I can find seems to have any of the HICAS diagnostics. Some of the posts I've read seem to suggest the system should be 'auto-straightening' or something, so I'm not entirely sure here too. A few other posts I've read suggest you have to be very careful with removing the steering wheel otherwise you can potentially set off the air bag or make a light go on in the dash that you can't reset without going to see Nissan. Anyways - any advice anyone can give on what the hell to do - I'd love to hear it. I'm sure I'm compromising my handling and probably my tyre wear by driving it as-is and I just want it fixed. Please - no suggestions about rear-steering rack lock-bars - they would require engineering approval, etc and I get pulled over enough now without adding more woes if I get dragged in for an inspection or somesuch. Jenna
  13. I'm still waiting for those pics of the 4-door ones ...
  14. Goddamn, those are sexy - both the gearknobs on my nissans are looking kinda worse for wear, and I'd love to replace em - but trying to find something that looks nice and stock like the factory leather ones has proven extraordinarily difficult -- So what you have here looks f**king *awesome* Are you planning on making / selling these?
  15. I've got a similar problem with mine right now - didn't know it was playing up until I went for a drive from Adelaide -> Melbourne and found that at 100kph my steering wheel was turning by itself and then at 110 HICAS seemed to turn itself off and the rear end started going sideways and the wheel straightened up. I quickly pulled over and ripped the HICAS fuse to stop me getting into an accident. I've since taken it to Nissan to get them to check it out and they reckon they chucked it on CONSULT and that the system thinks that when the steering wheel is at an angle (about 90deg right) that it's actually straight. I got no idea how that could have even happened! I've only had the car for 18 months, and haven't had much chance to go over 60 in a while - probably at least since I had the camber/caster stuff fitted. They basically gave me a set of instructions to get things fixed up to give to a suspension/alignment place (involving taking steering wheel off, aligning the steering rack, lining things up on the HICAS steering angle, etc), but without being able to detect when the steering wheel is detected as 'straight' by the HICAS system (through CONSULT), i'm not sure how helpful it's gonna be to them I do have a CONSULT cable but without the software to do HICAS diagnostics, I'm kinda stuffed... I'd honestly prefer to keep the HICAS - when it was working, I found it was kinda nice to drive with - but I can imagine it could get hairy in some situations on the limit ... Anyways, any ideas - have you got any access to CONZULT?
  16. I've transferred two cars from interstate - one from VIC (n14 sss) when I moved here, and one from NSW (r34 gt-t). In both cases they were registered to me, with the same name/etc details on them. In neither case did the people at Transport SA need to go out and look at the cars or do any sort of physical inspection - I did, of course, have all of the appropriate documentation, registration papers, etc with me, and the cars were both in my name, and everything matched up. Anyways - hope that tidbit helps Jenna
  17. As it turns out from buying a pre-made sub box for my r34 - it seems as though they're totally different and now I need to ship it back for refund (at my expensive), so I'm gonna be out of pocket about $80 in total ... It honestly hadn't even occured to me that the boots would be that different (if at all!)
  18. Looking for R34 S1 bar here, assuming this is still on
  19. Another +1 for Nigel at Streamline. He fixed up the loose exhaust manifold for my R34 back a few weeks ago, great guy to deal with - seems very genuine and was happy to show me around the car and what he'd be doing, etc.
  20. What happened to Brant?

Least i'm not the only one who thinks its for emo kids ... ZOMG LOOK AT ALL MY FRIENDS! .. ugh .. social networking sites .. *stab*
  22. I dealt with a Peter Wienert over at Precision Differentials and Gearbox Centre, when I had issues with my N14 SSS; He took my car for a spin around the block, and he said it didn't seem quite right. I had my mechanic rip out and send over the 'box to rip open and have a looksee inside and figure out if it was cheaper to fix or replace. Turned out that it was too busted to fix, and I ended up picking up another box - but - these guys did the open up and check out for free for me, which I was blown away by. They seemed totally professional to me. Jenna
  23. Also keep in mind you're best replacing both of them - as they do sorta change color over the life of the bulb and if you only replace one you can end up with slightly different shades/colours in the light (at least in my experience) Jenna
  24. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Xe...p;hl=screw+bulb http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...ts-t218089.html .. see last comment from me on the page on that one. Basically yeah - there's a screw - I couldnt figure out how to undo - it seems like one of those whacky ones (torx i think its called?) - eventually I managed to sorta squeeze it past with a bit of help of a flat-head screwdriver (but it's a real pain to lever it around).
  25. Nah nothing like that on mine - just annoying yellowness compared to the bright white / blue xenons - they produce great light but eh .. I'm picky Cool "face" you produced on the photo from the glare though!
