Okay after the previous conversations in here, this is unexpected.. http://www.salon.com/2011/12/03/australias_ruling_party_endorses_gay_marriage/singleton/

Nice job on the rims Terry - they look amazing. The stickers look MINT, almost floating under the surface. I guess they've gotta have been put under the clear. I really need to replace the nismo stickers on my LMGT4s, they're looking a bit worn. Might have to order some from RHD. The nismo wheel nuts I put on mine really set things off too, you're gonna love 'em. I've left mine with all 5 for each wheel for now - really contemplating trying to track down a set of 4 black lock nuts though. The nismo nuts might be 7-sided, but I'm not sure it would deter enough. Edit: I'm a bit surprised you didn't track down some center-caps for them as well. They really complete the rims in my opinion. When I picked mine up, they were missing, so I sourced some from RHD - totally worth it. Your worry now is if you grabbed some they'd need to be painted to match

After just getting mine back after 7.5 months apart, every single moment I spend in the car I have a huge smile on my face. It's awesome. I'm really looking forward to getting the parts I've bought over the last few months into it (alloy radiator, oil cooler, nismo short-shift, nismo dash, nismo injectors, etc). Unfortunately, I also need to re-build my custom amplifier shelf which was destroyed in the crash, put all my amplifiers, carpc, sound processor back in and the big one -- re-sound deaden the boot. Can't believe of all things, I lost all my sound deadening because because they replaced nearly the entire rear of the car. After having completed the boot lid today in Dynamat, I gotta say I'm not looking forward to the rest. Too much like hard work, especially when my back is still in pain.

For something business related, wouldn't you be better off going a proper redundant, enterprise path? Especially then you'll have better upgrade paths in terms of expanding SANs with more trays, and then just growing LUNs. Sure you'll pay more for it - but do you really want to risk important medical/research/etc data on that? Does it actually run RAID or JBOD? What are you doing for backups?
-
Good luck. I'd probably be approaching one of the big retailers, and explaining what I needed - interstate or otherwise. In that sort of volume, things should be interesting. So why do you need 135tb?

Spotted myself picking my R34 from All Type Crash, and then having a nice long drive ... 7.5 months without my skyline has been far too long.
-
So I rang around. Cheapest I found was $330, which is significantly under the $449 RRP for an Optima D34 yellow-top. For those who are interested in a cheap Optima, talk to BRS (Battery Replacement Services) - these guys were great, even came out and dropped off the Optima to me, so I didn't have to go for a drive
-
Battery world want $429, and Independent want $370. I can find them online for $300, but I really don't want to wait... *sigh*
-
Was talking to repair shop this afternoon - apparently my Optima yellow-top has kicked the bucket in the 7 months the car has been in repair - and apparently insurance won't cover that sort of thing. Unfortunately, it's also out of it's 3 year warranty period. Anyone know where I can get a cheap Optima yellow-top D34 tomorrow to save me ringing around?
-
Just realised I still have one of the 5-speed ones sitting in my drawer. I really should put that back on my car when I get it back from the repair shop ..

Thanks for clarifying Damo I wouldn't mind seeing a picture gallery stored on the SAUSA website, though - facebook tends to reduce the quality of images. Would be good to have higher quality stuff on the SAU:SA website. Is that something we might be able to look at?

I'm not sure if some of those comments are directed at me or Troy. Either way, I'm not knocking anybody. The more different methods to communicate to members the better - my concern here is that facebook users may receive different information, etc than those on the member forums or on the SAU:SA website. As long as the messages, announcements and information is consistent, I'm not concerned at all. Now a small facebook rant because apparently it's 'bad' for me to show resistance against the collective: I recognise that many people find facebook a convenient method for communication and keeping track of people. Whilst you can protect your profile from others - that's not where my concern lay. My concern lay with the company Facebook itself. I'm not a user of facebook, and never will be. Consider for a moment that you're getting a supposedly 'free' service from facebook to connect with people. How do you think they pay for their incredibly large server, and networking infrastructure? Can't see the product they're selling? Hint: It's the users, their connections and their information. Every piece of information you store on facebook is recorded and used by facebook - from photos to communication with other facebook users. Even if you delete data, it's just marked deleted in the databases, not removed. The information on your account is shared with every application you use, too - something many users do not realise. Facebook is more than happy to share your information with third-parties. Facebook has had a poor history of business practices, privacy and security. Mark Zuckerberg himself has a history of unethical behavior. I'm sure some of you would know about them tracking you visiting other websites, despite having logged out of facebook. I do not feel I can trust facebook, and I'm not comfortable using their service. I do not feel the need to share my life and interactions with a company that will subsequently sell that information on. I do not lose anything in my life from not using their services. I've lived the majority of my life without facebook - nothings changed for me. Please do not confuse me for a technical luddite either - I've been on the internet since 1994 and I work in the IT industry. Feel free to do some research on your own, but I'll include some links: http://articles.businessinsider.com/2010-05-03/tech/29974530_1_zuckerberg-open-graph-facebook-s-ceo http://rield.com/faq/why-is-facebook-bad http://sickfacebook.com/top-10-reason-everyone-should-destroy-their-facebook-account/ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2063709/Facebook-watches-800million-users-AFTER-sign-off.html

Yeah, not sure I understand the facebook thing. Not everyone has facebook, and if there is member announcements, etc I'd rather see them communicated in a better way than that.

All you can really do is try and keep your ride within the laws... If you have obvious defects, you're going to get done. It's as simple as that. If you want to stay entirely within the law, this will ultimately puts limits on outright power that's achievable without going through engineering & a full emissions inspection as you're not going to be able to replace/change turbos, upgrade injectors, replace AFMs, etc.

Great work mate, aint SAU great Thought about signing up as a member?

Sounds like popped intercooler hose. Check those out, you'll probably find one not on anymore.

Atheists are good people with morals too. They don't have a book to guide them and their behaviors, but still manage it. If when I die I find there really is a God, and I've been wrong, I'll accept that. If that deity chooses to punish me (hell) for relying on a scientific approach in my life - rather than blindly believing - whilst continuing to live a moral existance, treating people fairly - then that's not a deity that I would choose to worship anyway.
-
Whether we want to realise it, we were all born atheists. It's upbringing, parental influences and culture that turn people into believers. I have no problem with christians, they're welcome to believe whatever they want. I'll continue to question everything, and always look for answers.

There's been additions to various things - like superannuation, recognition of same-sex couples living together recognised as 'de-facto' and a few other things. However, these do not provide the same rights as a real 'marriage'. Basically as things stand now - homosexual couples have the same rights as an unmarried heterosexual couple when living together. This covers things like taxation, social security and health, aged care and employment. Heterosexual or homosexual defacto couples do not have the same rights as a heterosexual married couple.
-
Why shouldn't relationships - between people of whatever gender - be treated with the same respect and given the same rights as heterosexual couples take for granted? Things like 'civil unions' and or domestic partnerships rarely provide the same rights as 'real' marriage. Really, this is about establishing the same rights for everybody. Besides, why shouldn't homosexual couples experience the same crazy 'lets get married - whoops we made a mistake - divorce' cycle that heterosexuals have been enjoying forever?
-
Yup.
-
Huh. Just googled - serves me for not reading news. Guessing you're referring to Julia Gillard backs gay marriage conscience vote Bit of a shame that Australia continues to lag behind the rest of the world with providing equality and equal rights for everybody. Ahh wells. Give it time. A few decades ago women didn't even have the vote.
-
Now THERE'S something I could really believe.
-
Don't want to start something. Bullshit. Lemme guess, you're a christian too? If posting something on a public forum for other people to read isn't 'spreading it around' - then what is it? What constitutes 'spreading it around' in your eyes? Madaz has already admitted he didn't realise what constituted an atheist and that maybe he should do some research. I think that supports my view. Atheism isn't a sore point to me at all - I do not believe I've 'bitten so hard', despite what you might think. I do take issue with people posting incorrect information around - whether it's about cars, computers or atheism.
-
I realise it wasn't created by you - but you're spreading it around. Whether or not some atheists believe in evolution or the big bang theory is irrelevant to them defining themselves as 'atheists'. The word 'atheist' purely means a lack of belief in a deity, nothing more. It's certainly not a religion, despite what some people might mis-understand. Unfortunately many theists have a fundamental misunderstanding of what an atheist is - or what defines an atheist. The reason why atheists arent easy to 'pin down' is simply because it only defines them by their lack of belief - nothing about the way they live their lives, their 'worldview', their beliefs, etc.
