  1. Started off with the standard halogen light; The Bi-Xenon pojectos I used in this conversio were from and Audi A6 - later version. The lenses were removed to allow installation, also the soleniod control circuit was removed and the loom extended so that it can be connected to the OEM loom; The 3D bracket using the original mounting points of the halogen lamp allowing adjustment as per OEM light. No mounting the Bi-Xenon projector to the original halogen reflector; Connected the projector to the OEM loom and had a trial installation to ensure everything was aligned; Started building the lights back up; And then Steve decided he wanted custom side lights as well!; (You can see the solenoid control circuit has been removed, wired extended and installed bottom left between the main and high beam units) Results; Beam Alignment; If you want more info, as in how to split the lights apart etc let me know. Cheers, Matt.
  2. ok, I'll try and get some more photos off Steve and post them up with a few pointers for you guys.
  3. I completely agree, the conversion above was done by the owner and I assisted him by advising which parts to buy. The only parts not readily available were the brackets (as I designed them) and the owner had them manufactured at his own cost. The above conversion cost about £280 from memory, his intention is to also have a carbon duct through the headlight feeding the intake. There's no shroud around the projector as I never got round to designing one and the owner didn't want one anyway. I've never done a step-by-step guide for the headlights but have done one for the rear lights..
  4. The silver R33 on page 2 is my car, I'm happy to answer any questions if anybody wants some info. Cheers, Matt. R33 GTS-t I helped a mate with; Did LED Rear lights too;
  5. Nice, but I made my own - I didn't buy them from a Yahoo auction And we in the UK have to have a Fog Lamp too which is now next to the Reverse Lamp.
  6. Developing the brackets that use the original mounts was the hardest part - they took a while and a bit of head scratching to get right. Using the original mounts means the beams can be adjusted as per the standard headlights. They don't have angel eyes, I do have 2 sets which I was going to install but they aren't to my personal taste really. The conversion is actually very simple once you have all the parts and they took me about 4 or 5 hours from start to finish. The main fuse has to be uprated from 10 or 20 Amps (Can't remember off the top of my head) to 30 Amps as the start-up draw current is quite high having twin sets. Matt.
  7. The headlights cost me about £500 in parts as they are 2 sets of Bi-Xenon projectors etc. The BMW Bi-Xenon units don't fit as the solenoid is too large. I found the Audi units fit with no problems...
  8. The Quad Bi-Xenon projector conversion took a while to design but the results were well worth it! Great being able to see at night.
  9. These are mine; Click image for short vid... Or; Matt.
  10. Hi all, Been playing and wanted something different for my car so decided to do an LED conversion on my R33 Rear Lights. It's something I started as a hobby as can be seen on gtr.co.uk - although it's turned into a group buy in the UK. Just thought I'd share my results and ask for a little feedback on the conversion - It's meant to be a little Z-Tune-ish style. It may sound strange but there are over 800 LED's in total across the back of the car! Anyway, opinions? Oh, almost forgot, there is a Fog Lamp on the outside of each Reverse Lamp which wasn't wired up when the Vid was taken hence why there only appears to be a small Reverse Lamp. Cheers, Matt.
  11. Yeah mate followed the link^^^ Never bothered with any bezels, I just gutted the halogen lights and rebuilt them with the Bi-Xenons. I played around with bezels at the time but they looked much better without them so I left them off. Not that it would be a massive job to fit bezels though. I'll post some close up pics when I return to the UK....
  12. Mine is a hand built 'Top Secret' tuning Japan/HKS 2.8 engine with HKS T04Z and OS Giken 6 speed sequential, all the work (engine fitting, fuelling and tuning) was carried out in the UK by Abbey Motorsport - just shy of 600BHP ATW at the moment. Thanks, I made the lights because the standard halogen units are vey very poor at night!
  13. I'll take some pics early Feb when I get home. They are bright but still road legal on lo beam, on high beam... they are just AWESOME! Very rarely get other road users complain about the brightness - only time I get flashed is when going up hills etc when the shield cutoff falls or rises into oncoming drivers, oops.
  14. That is correct, there is a solenoid which operates and moves the shield out of the way giving the full xenon lamp unshielded for full beam! No, I have 4 x Bi-Xenon projectors, as in all 4 on for lo and hi beam! *** Ignore the sidelights, that was just a trial fit! *** I chose the Audi units because they are Bi-Xenon and because they are made by Hella and therefore fit most headlight units, the BMW ones don't fit in the R33 headlight units (Bi-Xenons that is). As for the Honda units, I don't know to be honest, it wasn't an option available to me at the time.
  15. Mine are made from 2 sets of Audi A6 Bi-Xenon headlights (projectors/Ballasts etc). As for cost, that's all I paid for, the rest was just my own labour - so it would depend how much you could source the Audi light for?
