  1. anyone in Sydney with these parts?
  2. I am after the following for my R32 GTS: - Front driverside blinker - Front driverside quarter panel - Front bumper bar (currently standard but wouldn't mind putting on a nice kit) Car is standard gunmetal grey so matching colour would be helpful but any colour will do. Can anyone recommend a good spray painter where I can get a quote for spraying a front quarter and bumper? Drop me either a reply or personal message and I will get you my mobile number. Thanks.
  3. sounds pretty strange but I don't have that much experience with them... all i know is that without the handbrake wire either earthed or connected to the brake there was no way i could watch a dvd
  4. Daniel did a great job and also came and installed at no extra charge due to an early mixup... tidy work too... highly recommended.... PlatinumPPI - http://www.platinumppi.com
  5. any luck on this one yet man? i must admit i haven't had a look at all yet....
  6. got a diagram to show me...? Do i still ground the handbrake wire from the back of the HU or do i rig it up properly to the handbrake then use the switch to ground it while the handbrake is off??
  7. Chris, what's your recommendation for hiding it...?
  8. bit of an overkill don't you think....? just risk it and turn it on to radio if you get pulled over... fairdinkum...
  9. thanks everyone for your help... i have decided to go with an M80AU fitted by Platinum PPI... extremely good price and seemed like a really good bloke... plus came highly recommended and close to home... going in this saturday so i will let you know how it goes.... http://www.platinumppi.com/accessories.html

  11. http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_clos...amp;part_no=303 is this them? i am guessing they are the deep dish package right?
  12. thanks chris... what about the nominal 3 ohm impedence...??? Do i need a special amp or whats the go...?? thanks again...
  13. I have been told to check the mounting depth of splits before buying. I have checked the depths of the Boston Pro60's but now I don't know what to do with my findings (n000000b). The depths for the Pro60's are: Mounting Depth 2-3/8" (60mm) Mounting Depth with Spacer 2-1/16" (52mm) Will they fit in the front doors of my R32? I want to be able to put the door skins back on so that the speakers are hidden. Keep in mind that I will also need to make a spacer to compensate for the jump to 6.5". Will they fit in OK? I also notice that they have a 3ohm "nominal" impedence... what is impedence and what do they mean by nominal? i know that most speakers are 4ohm so you need to run a 4ohm amp... correct?? So does that mean these will need some type of special 3 ohm amp??
  14. yeah no problem... thought that might be the case anyway... i will get in contact with JVC because as STAR33 pointed out, the list of included components says there should be a faceplate included... cheers chris
  15. yeah i hear ya chris...
  16. i know.... i knew there had to be a way around it... just glad it was so simple... imagine having the unit without being able to have the video clips running while your driving... or going for a trip with your mates and telling them they could only watch the display at the traffic lights... pfft...
  17. i have included 2 pics for you to get an idea of the gap...
  18. righto... i earthed the park brake wire and now it's fine... thanks all for your help...
  19. Chris, you say you make these? Mine is a little gappy too... particularly at the bottom where it must be close to 5mm give or take... If I wanted you to make me one them what would it cost and what is the best way to do it if I am in Sydney and you are up north? Can you do it if i give you a few photos or is it a bit of a precision job? How do you make the thing stay there? Some type of clip...??
  20. One other thing. The car has standard central locking at the moment but I would like to have keyless entry as part of this setup. WIll the M80S automatically unlock the doors when disarming or do i need to purchase an extra component?

  22. thanks mate... the IX404 has been turfed already and I haven't even received it from the guy yet... the plan at this stage is to use the Kicker KX200.2 for the splits and hold off on the sub for a while. eventually i will get a nice new amp for the splits (100W+) and use the 200.2 for the sub.
  23. Been checking out all of the recent discussions on the Mongoose M80 Series and they sound impressive. Where is the best place to purchase a M80s? Any recommendations on installers? Could I just buy the alarm and take it to any auto-electrician? Can you also let me know the price I should be looking at paying incuding installation? How long do they take to install...?? 2hrs...?? more...?? Thanks dudes
  24. thanks mate... now i have been told that by a few people so it must be on the money... «:::::» «:::E:::» «:::R:::» «:::F:::» «:::E:::» «:::C:::» «:::T:::»
  25. Hi dudes, I have just finished installing a JVC KW-AVX700 unit into my R32. JVC have built in a "feature" that won't allow a viewable playback unless the handbrake is applied. However, it is also stated that the warning won't appear unless the handbrake and JVC unit are physically wired up to eachother. The instructions say the following: "If the parking brake is not engaged, "Parking Brake" appears on the monitor, and no playback picture will be shown. This warning appears only when the parking brake wire is connected to the parking brake system built in the car." The funny thing is that I didn't hook the wire to the handbrake so the warning should be disabled. Furthermore, I am still getting the warning even when I do apply the handbrake. Any ideas? It would be sh*t to have an incar DVD if you can only watch it when the car is completely stationary....
